00:00 We're students at ANU and we're extremely passionate about the Lawyer's Statement from
00:17 the Heart.
00:18 We all study different subjects that have provided us with a lot of knowledge about
00:24 it.
00:25 We also do a lot of research which is extremely important but we want to be able to provide
00:30 a voice to people who have historically been excluded from participating.
00:33 This is a different form of movement, a different form of voice for everyone to be able to come
00:38 together and do something positive.
00:39 Because I think especially as uni students and as young people, it's really hard for
00:43 us to be able to project our opinions and our voices and support people who need it.
00:49 When we don't have the same money or standpoint in government or anything like that, I think
00:54 it's really important for us to be able to do that.
00:58 Vote Yes for efficient use of your taxes.
01:03 Vote Yes for a fairer, stronger Australia.
01:07 Vote Yes for my daughter and I so we may no longer expect to have our voices in eight
01:13 years before other non-Indigenous Australians.
01:16 Vote Yes is a vote so those people out in the Kimberley have a say on what matters to
01:26 their community, not Canberra.
01:28 Vote Yes is a vote to stop the removal of our children from their families.
01:36 Vote Yes is a vote to stop the over-incarceration of our women.
01:43 [Applause]
01:45 Why is Street in Truth? Why is Street in Truth? Why is Street in Truth?
02:08 We come to support other not-for-profits doing sign work and we obviously support the Yes
02:13 campaign.
02:14 It's important that this gets up.
02:16 We won't get another chance.
02:18 It's also important people don't realise that some of the injustices are recent, they're
02:23 not in the history.
02:24 There are people here our age who are grandchildren of people who actually have been involved
02:30 in some of those massacres.
02:31 So it's actually still a recent, hurtful thing against the First Nations people.
02:38 Hi, my name's Katya and I'm one of the campaign coordinators here at the 18th for the Yes
02:44 23 campaign.
02:46 So tell me about your outfit today.
02:48 I'm just wearing the iconic Canberra bust socks and just added some straps to the bus
02:55 socks to show that Canberra supports the voice of Canberra.
02:59 How do you think the event went today?
03:01 I think it went wonderfully.
03:03 We had maybe triple the number of people than what we were expecting.
03:08 And just fantastic vibes.
03:10 It was great.
03:12 [music]
03:34 you
