00:00 We talked about California. The state is getting ready for an atmospheric river this weekend and
00:05 into next week with heavy rain expected and the Sierra seeing significant snowfall. Now Lisa
00:11 Greggs and her Lake Arrowhead community endured record amounts of snow last year. Wild scenes just
00:19 continue to come out of California for the last winter season. She joins us now from the mountains
00:25 above San Bernardino. Good to see you again Lisa. Good to see you ladies. I hope you're staying dry.
00:33 We are staying dry and for any viewers that maybe kind of knew we pretty much met Lisa last year
00:39 and we've been checking in with you time and time again so we appreciate you being here again with
00:43 us this morning. Of course we wanted to reach out to you after your experience last year. How are
00:47 you guys now preparing for these storms? Well you know every single time I think people get PTSD
00:53 honestly. Like you know toilet paper, milk, bread, you know the grocery stores it feels like there's
00:59 always a run on that, firewood. I you know I've talked to a few you know of the community people
01:05 in the community they're just like oh my gosh we're stopped up we're not taking any chances
01:10 this time so you know people just try to get out ahead of it and prepare honestly but it's been
01:15 pretty wet and a little wet. Yes and we have a more on the way where that came from and as we
01:22 are still very much in the thick of things for this season what did you learn from last year's
01:27 epic snowfall and how does this year seem different at least the beginnings of this season?
01:34 Yeah I think well the biggest thing that I think we learned as a community is number one how
01:41 incredible our community is of individual lists that actually live here and just you know that
01:48 you would get to know your neighbor for sure that was that was the biggest lesson for me is that you
01:53 get to know your neighbor and you know try to get out ahead of these things. Obviously there's no
01:59 way we could have known that we were going to get 110 inches in five days and and running springs
02:04 got 150 inches in five days. Just I mean there's just you know that storm just did not want to move
02:11 it just kept going around and around and around and around and around but I think you know
02:16 thankfully this seems to be that pineapple express so it's a little warmer and I think
02:21 pretty much everybody up here has just been praying for rain I mean truthfully just rain.
02:26 Yeah I mean that that brings us to our next question when you look at our actual weather
02:29 forecast for this next storm ascending into early next week what is it that you are most concerned
02:34 about and is anyone kind of just planning to maybe leave ahead of the storm as we head into the
02:39 winter season? Yeah you know I was in Pilates class yesterday and one lady said she had already
02:46 pre-planned a trip to Cancun. Oh I love that. So I was actually a little bit jelly. I think mostly
02:55 the concern is mudslides you know when there's a lot of rain and there's a lot of water we tend to
03:00 have a lot of mudslides so that's the biggest thing flooding and mudslides. Understood yeah she has
03:06 room for the three of us we could just go to Cancun. We'll all hop down there really quick
03:10 escape the storms together we'll have a grand old time. Yeah I mean Pilates and then going to Cancun
03:15 I need to I need to move to Lake Arrowhead. Lisa we appreciate just so much for joining us of course
03:20 we want everyone to stay safe out there and we do just appreciate you being with us this morning.
03:24 Stay safe. Thank you ladies.
