00:00 Hello and welcome back to another episode of Screen Babble Weekend Watch.
00:04 I'm Stephen, National Wales Digital Translator, and I'll be talking you through what's on TV, streaming and in the cinemas this weekend and beyond.
00:13 So we'll kick things off with quite a busy Friday.
00:16 We have Orion and the Dark coming on 2nd February to Netflix.
00:21 This is an animated family film.
00:23 It follows a boy with an active imagination who faces his fears on a strange journey through the night with his friend, a giant smiling creature named Dark.
00:31 So there's sort of a little bit of a non-anime studio Ghibli sort of vibe, but probably worth a look to look out for.
00:39 We also have Let's Talk About Choo, which is a South Korean romantic drama, also on Netflix.
00:46 It follows part-time blogger Choo Ai, who uses her channel to speak candidly about sex.
00:52 But in real life, she finds that she's subject to the... she finds the subject to be much trickier than she makes it appear in her podcast.
01:00 And this is coming to Netflix all in one go with six episodes.
01:07 Then again on Friday, we have Nicola Bully, The Disappearance That Gripped Britain.
01:12 This is a 75-minute Channel 5 special documentary airing at 9pm on a Friday.
01:17 It takes place a year after the disappearance of Nicola Bully, and the documentary sheds new light on the case and delves into the deeper questions that didn't get answered at the time.
01:28 Then coming to cinemas again on Friday is the Apple TV film Argyle.
01:35 It's an action thriller starring Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa, as well as Sam Rockwell and many other sort of recognisable names.
01:44 It follows a reclusive author who writes espionage novels about a secret agent and a global spy syndicate,
01:51 but realises that the plot of the new book that he's writing begins to mirror the real-world events that he's living through.
02:00 So this will come to cinemas ahead of a wider Apple release later in the year.
02:05 And then this one's definitely worth looking out for, Amazon Prime series Mr & Mrs Smith,
02:12 based on the 2005 action film with Brad Pitt and Angeline Jolie.
02:16 It's a slightly different take, whereas in the original film Mr & Mrs Smith realise that their significant other is a spy working for an opposing agency,
02:26 in this Prime series, starring Donald Glover and Maya Eskine, these two spies are placed together with the cover story that they will be a married couple.
02:39 So they know each other as colleagues before they become married for the sake of appearances.
02:44 And then through their fake marriage they begin to fall in love for real, which obviously causes some complications.
02:51 So there's eight episodes in the series and they'll all land on Prime on the 2nd of February.
02:56 And then the last thing coming out on Friday, I said it was a busy day, is Zone of Interest.
03:01 This is the Best Picture Oscar nominee.
03:03 It's a German language film and it follows the commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Huss, and his wife Hedwig,
03:09 as they strive to build a dream life for themselves and their family in their housing garden, which happens to be next to Auschwitz concentration camp.
03:16 So this comes to cinemas on Friday and is definitely one worth watching and will be a contender for Best Picture in March.
03:27 And then on Sunday we have the 13th season of Death in Paradise opening with the 100th episode.
03:35 Kicking off the new series we see Selwyn Paterson celebrate 50 years of police service
03:43 before being left fighting for his life when he is shot by a mysterious assassin.
03:48 Now there's eight episodes in this new series.
03:51 The first episode will begin on Sunday on BBC One at 9pm.
03:55 The release date of later episodes have not yet been confirmed, so watch this space for updates.
04:00 Finally, we have Carebear Enthusiasm Season 12, the final series of the show, since it was confirmed that it won't be renewed further.
04:09 This comes to Sky Comedy at 3am on Monday, but don't worry, it will be repeated at 9pm on Monday as well.
04:15 It sees Larry head to Georgia to appear at a birthday party of a prominent businessman, while Leon takes the opportunity to visit his auntie Rae.
04:24 So the episodes in this series will be released at the same time weekly with the 3am and then 9pm repeats on Mondays.
04:32 Okay, that's all from me. Thanks very much for listening and join me again next week for more weekend watch recommendations. Cheers.
