00:00 By this stage we all know that Taylor Swift is bringing her Eras Tour to Australia.
00:04 But what exactly is an era?
00:05 It's been a long-held belief by Taylor Swift that in order for a female artist to have a lengthy career,
00:10 they need to start fresh with each new album.
00:13 New music means a new aesthetic, sound, feel, and in Taylor Swift's case, colour.
00:17 Debut is light green, fearless is gold, speak now is purple, and so on.
00:22 And we've watched as Taylor Swift has gone from the sundress and cowboy boot-wearing singer in her debut era
00:27 to the black and snake motifs of reputation.
00:30 Not to mention the 70s feel of midnights.
00:33 It's worked beautifully as a marketing tactic,
00:36 but it also means that as Taylor Swift revisits her 10 albums and eras,
00:40 fans are dressing up to match their favourite.
00:43 And each has a set of rules to follow.
00:45 If you're wanting to show your love of 1989, it's a sequined crop top and matching skirt.
00:50 If lover is more your vibe, think hearts and lots of pink.
00:53 And if folklore is your jam, then opt for the cottagecore vibe and long flowing dresses.
00:58 And this ritual of dressing up is getting bigger and bigger
01:01 the more people are sharing their outfit choices in the lead up to the show.
01:05 The most important element though is the friendship bracelets.
01:08 Inspired by the song "You're on Your Own Kid",
01:10 Swifties make their own Taylor themed bracelets and swap them at the concert.
01:14 No matter what era you choose, it's safe to say that this is not your average concert attire.
01:19 Jeans and a t-shirt are no more. No one goes to the lengths that a Swiftie does.
