00:00 Police say a man in his 20s and a woman in her 30s were here at Barara train station
00:07 around midnight last night on the platform.
00:10 Now we understand the pair got into an argument on the platform before the man, we've been
00:16 told, threw something belonging to the woman onto the tracks.
00:19 She then jumped down to retrieve that item.
00:22 The man then reportedly saw the train coming so he jumped down onto the tracks to try and
00:28 save her in time but sadly they were both hit by the train and they died at the scene.
00:34 Ambulance crews were called and they did rush here but sadly the man and woman couldn't
00:38 be saved.
00:39 Now police do have CCTV of exactly what happened here last night.
00:43 There are cameras on the platform so they do say this is just a tragic accident and
00:48 they are now preparing a report for the coroner.
