00:00 We've all talked about how this is a really challenging project, two contractors going
00:04 bust, guys working really hard, unbelievable times for construction, you know a lot of difficult
00:10 stress for people involved in the project. I like thankful for all the work they did,
00:14 I think guys from Birmingham City Council and the owner really pulled together to make this site
00:18 happen. It was an incredible piece of work, keep the site operational and build around the time.
00:26 Now it's all finished, all the amazing things we do here, 13 different types of recycled material,
00:31 things we've never recycled before like vapes, coffee cups which I know will end up like 70%
00:38 recycling rate pretty quickly, hopefully in the fourth year, maybe not in year 10.
00:43 So it's been a very challenging time, I want to thank everyone for all your efforts
00:48 and it's a great pleasure for the people on the move here today to facilitate what we're doing.
00:54 Our number three goal is to finish the overall site, so our people,
00:58 I see you all coming in in the next 15 minutes, so I'm proud of them, it's a great day and thanks a lot.
01:04 Thanks everyone.
01:12 So this is fantastic news for the people that live in this part of the city,
01:19 we closed the site in July 2021 in order to make it a lot larger and more accessible for residents
01:26 so that they can recycle more products. As you're aware, Birmingham City Council, we have our
01:30 ambitions for net zero and increasing recycling in the city is part of that plan. So here we're
01:35 expecting 130,000 visitors now for the duration of the year and we're expecting approximately 11,000
01:42 tons of waste to be presented here, which 60% at least will be recycled. That's the main benefit
01:49 here for residents who live in this part of the city that they won't have to drive now to
01:52 certain autotames I drive.
01:54 Thank you.
