The TCU Horned Frogs and the Texas Tech Raiders went head-to-head in the Schollmaier Arena, and the Horned Frogs were able to take the win with a final score of 85-78. TCU was led by Trevian Tennyson who finished the night with 23 points, three rebounds, and two assists.

The Horned Frogs took the game over in the last seven minutes of the first half and were able to close the gap by four going into halftime after trailing by 11.

Dixon said that changing up the defense was their strategy out of halftime.

“The defense wasn’t really getting anything done all game, there was a stretch where we changed up our defense and that helped and was key to the second half.”

The Horned Frogs came out of the locker room ready to fully dominant this game and took their first double point lead while the Red Raiders slowly begin to trail.

Texas Tech had a total of 21 fouls and 13 turnovers with most of them coming from the second half, which helped TCU maintain their lead.

Texas Tech head coach Grant McCasland said TCU continued to challenge them and put them in tough situations, and he felt like TCU beat them in all the tough areas.

“TCU put us in a lot of tough situations with their athleticism, shot making, offensive rebounding, physicality, and their ability to get to the free throw line,” said McCasland. “TCU did a tremendous job staying in attack mode.”

Texas Tech continued to play hard until the end, but it wasn’t enough as they continued to send the Horned Frogs to the free throw line and extending the lead.

The Horned Frogs, now 16-5, will get ready to face the Texas Longhorns this Saturday in the Schollmaier Arena. Tip-off is at 1pm and can streamed on ESPN+.
