00:02 - Well, I think the idea behind the rule
00:06 was pretty admirable.
00:09 You know, like I think people who like the NBA,
00:11 fans of the NBA are tired of teams not caring
00:14 about the regular season.
00:15 Like I love the NBA.
00:17 I love to watch the NBA.
00:19 If I bought tickets to a Thunder game
00:21 to go and see the Nuggets or the Lakers or whoever,
00:25 and Jokic wasn't playing or LeBron wasn't playing,
00:28 like that would suck.
00:28 I would be, that would be a huge bummer.
00:31 So I like the, I like the idea behind the rule,
00:35 but you know what's gonna happen now?
00:37 Is that the absolute worst case scenario thing
00:40 is gonna happen where instead of resting,
00:43 Embiid is gonna start a game, foul someone,
00:47 and immediately go sit out.
00:48 I mean, that is what's gonna, like,
00:50 if it's looking like he's on the borderline,
00:52 like, oh, he can only miss five more games,
00:54 and you know, he has a hurt knee or a bum ankle
00:58 or whatever, gets, you know, the scratched cornea
01:01 that he had in the playoffs a couple years ago,
01:03 he's gonna, it's gonna be the Mikael Bridges situation
01:06 all over again, where he's gonna start the game,
01:09 he's gonna play, and then he's gonna immediately sub out
01:11 'cause he wants to win MVP.
01:13 I mean, let's be real about this.
01:14 Embiid cares about his numbers.
01:16 Like, those things all matter to him,
01:18 although his per game averages would take a real,
01:21 they would just get absolutely crushed in that scenario.
01:23 I don't know.
01:25 I think he probably, like, should be available
01:28 for 60, 65, 70 games to win MVP.
01:31 That's actually why I've said Jokic, even last year,
01:34 was the MVP, 'cause the dude never misses time.
01:37 He just never rests, he just plays.
