00:00 Very disappointed in what they're proposing, especially the access route for the proposal.
00:08 Looking at the actual access point, it's just far too narrow. It's very, very busy traffic as it is
00:15 and proposed works traffic, just going to be absolutely inadequate access.
00:22 I've got a little car, my husband's got a little work van, it's only tiny. Some nights we struggle
00:26 even to get round into the corner of where we live because when there's cars parked either side,
00:32 it makes it extremely difficult to get through. Ambulances, things like fire engines,
00:38 stuff like that, they're going to really struggle to get down there, even with how the traffic is
00:43 like now, let alone if it's going to be made where this is meant to be the main access of the road.
00:49 There's no way you're going to get things like that down there.
00:52 That was a fairground, a medieval fairground, so it has got a lot of history there. People have found
00:58 old traders' tokens and things like that in that field. So that's part of the village's history there
01:03 and it's a shame to lose even more of what we've got left of the history
01:08 because it's just getting bulldozed every day.
01:10 Well, what used to be a village is no longer a village. It's just surrounded by, at least on average now,
01:17 I would say possibly 70, 80 houses in a small village, an original beautiful old village in Kent,
01:25 is being eroded.
01:27 What we've got is quite a low density scheme. Obviously, a site that size could actually take
01:32 a lot more units, but we've kept it quite low density and we're providing plenty of car parking
01:37 on site for all the units. There are discussions about whether we can help alleviate some of the
01:42 traffic issues from St Edmunds within our site, perhaps by providing visitors parking or something
01:48 similar to relieve the on-street parking issues that they have at the moment.
