00:00 and in there there's so many beautiful books but loads of lovely little areas where you
00:04 can actually sit and read and just totally switch off. And did you know reading is really
00:09 good for your brain, it relaxes you, takes you to a different world doesn't it? It's
00:12 like drawing, singing, all really good for your brain chemicals so if you feel a bit
00:16 bleh you can always come to this beautiful library can't you? And we're the first people
00:21 in the school to see it so how honoured do you feel?
00:24 Are you excited?
00:26 Yes!
00:27 Right, are we going to do a draw?
00:31 Hand me the scissors!
00:34 Now I hope these, luckily I'm left handed but I've cut with my right, I'm going to cut
00:41 here and go whoooa!
00:45 I'm handing those back safely.
00:49 I declare Batmobile Library open!
00:52 I'm on the ground!
00:59 Isn't it amazing?
01:04 I'm on the ground!
01:09 Okay then Georgia what did you make when you came in and saw the library?
01:12 I thought this was the best library we've ever had because we'll have so much room now
01:18 and we've got many other books and people to read.
01:22 And Olive what did you make of the Enchanted Forest then?
01:25 I think it's quite good because it's not just boring like the other libraries, it's a lot
01:36 bigger and colourful.
01:37 Do you think it'll get people's imagination when they come in?
01:40 And Rosie what did you think when you walked in?
01:42 I was amazed because it's much bigger than the last one and it's much prettier.
01:48 Okay and quite excited to see all the different dens and the cubby holes you've got here.
01:53 And Kayla what did you think when you came in?
01:55 I thought it was, well the second that I stepped in it felt really, really exciting because
02:06 if you look the surroundings are calm, relaxed, colourful and it would also be a great place
02:16 for people's imagination to shoot up.
02:19 And you guys raised the money for this, how does that make you feel knowing your money
02:22 that you raised has been spent on this?
02:24 Since we're going to camp next year it makes us feel happy because the people that's coming
02:31 up from nursery are going to go over and be able to use this library.
02:35 And you guys are going to be here for a few more years, how do you feel about knowing
02:38 that, what the money you raised has been spent on?
02:40 I feel a bit happy, so if it's play times and we're allowed in the library I'll just
02:48 go and read until it's time to tidy up and stuff.
02:53 [Students talking]
03:10 Ok then Liz how impressed are you with the school's new library?
03:13 Oh my goodness, to say that my eyes went 'arugh' is an understatement.
03:18 And I had a sneaky peek this morning and honestly I was blown away with just the colours and
03:23 the textures and just the amount of effort that the staff have put in to make this into
03:27 such a beautiful area for the children.
03:29 They're so fortunate to have this.
03:31 And it's full of books, it's absolutely crammed and there's not going to be one child that
03:35 can't find a book that they're interested in, it's just fantastic.
03:38 And how important do you think creating an environment like this is to foster learning?
03:41 It's really, really important.
03:43 Some children don't get books at home so they come to school not just to learn but to actually
03:47 learn about reading and the enjoyment of reading.
03:50 And reading is a fundamental skill for everyone.
03:53 Books can take you to different places, you can learn about things you've never even heard of.
03:57 There's just something for everyone here and children love books.
04:00 If you put them in a room with books they're just going to grab them.
