00:00 What was meant to be a shiny new development is now a landscape of crumbling dreams.
00:07 Robert and Veronica Borland bought their home in Jordan Springs East late last year,
00:12 but were shocked to find out last week the house next door is one of 18 set to be demolished by Len Lease.
00:18 None of that was disclosed to us. We would never have brought this house if we knew the house next door here was getting demolished.
00:26 The houses to be bulldozed are marked in red on this map.
00:30 They're among more than 50 that the developer bought back as part of a compensation scheme that started in 2020,
00:36 years after cracking walls and sinking driveways began appearing in the recently finished estate.
00:41 It is a relatively small amount of homes, but for those families who have built their dream homes, that's everything.
00:51 Problems with the Borlands' home were rectified by Len Lease and signed off by an engineer before they bought it.
00:56 They're worried the demolition next door will destabilise their land too.
01:00 Right now our best option would be we would want to be brought back and be able to move,
01:07 and the money we've spent to be recompensated as well, because we don't know if anyone would even buy our house now.
01:16 While a few homes on Armory Road do show signs of damage, you'd never guess that nearly the entire row of homes behind me needs to be demolished.
01:23 But the neat facades and tidy gardens hide deep damage, and soon there'll only be one house left standing on this side of the street for an entire block.
01:31 Len Lease says the houses are being removed because they don't meet their quality standards.
01:35 We're continuing to stand by our customers and committed to providing ongoing support as we work through the process.
01:42 Little comfort to the Borlands.
