Psychology expert Dr Rachael Molitor says the ability to become sociable has been a key trait to becoming a successful traitor in the hit BBC reality show The Traitors, ahead of the season finale on Friday 26 January. In the second series, airing now, Traitors Harry and Andrew have so far proved elusive - with the Faithful struggling to identify who should and should not be trusted."What makes a good Traitor is the ability to become sociable, to be able to make friends," Dr Molitor said. "Harry has always been acting as a Faithful the whole time and people are on his side, fighting for him."

00:00 I think what makes a good traitor is definitely the ability to become
00:03 sociable, to be able to make friends, to be able to make acquaintances and also
00:07 to be able to sometimes deceive other people, so to be able to get people on
00:10 their side. So what we're seeing from the traitors at the moment, especially the
00:14 the final ones at the moment, so Harry for example has always been acting as a
00:19 faithful the whole time and people are on his side, people are fighting for him,
00:22 people are saying that he's absolutely a faithful and I think that's
00:25 fascinating. Where we've seen other traitors fall apart or maybe start
00:30 to look a little bit shifty, he's been sitting there the whole time saying I'm
00:33 absolutely a faithful through and through and I find it really interesting
00:36 as we're getting more and more towards the final. The way the editing is within
00:40 reality TV programs, you start to really resonate with the people who are in
00:43 there. They are just everyday people like you and I, they're not people who have
00:47 gone into this reality TV show for anything other than experience of being
00:51 on this show, potentially the ability to win some money at the same time, but
00:55 actually watching these people, these normal human behaviours that we're
00:58 seeing and how people are interacting. Some people are not very good at lying,
01:02 some people are very good at lying and also some people are not very good at
01:05 telling the truth and really starting to get a bit nervous or worried when the
01:09 sort of the focus is shifted on them. So it's fascinating and it is a science of
01:13 understanding human behaviour, deception and how people can possibly lie in those
01:17 situations.
