Human-induced global warming seen as cause of Amazon drought in 2023

Last year's severe Amazon drought – causing record-low river levels, food and water deliveries to river communities, and the death of endangered dolphins – was primarily driven by human-induced global warming rather than El Niño, according to the World Weather Attribution.
