Highlights and postgame interview from Oklahoma's win at No. 10 Texas on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024.
Transcript
00:00 Once again, 91-87 in our post-game interview with head coach Jenny Baranchuk.
00:04 What a win for Oklahoma tonight, coach.
00:06 What can you say about the way this team just dug its heels in and would not give it up?
00:11 Well, you know, it was really fun, obviously, in the first half.
00:13 When you feel like everything's going well and you're moving the ball and we're shooting well,
00:17 and I thought we just had great pace and great movement.
00:20 And then I thought in the second half, I thought the third quarter we kind of played, same thing.
00:24 I thought we did a great job.
00:25 And then in that fourth quarter, we kind of got a little tight.
00:28 You know, I mean, obviously, they're so talented. Texas is so good.
00:31 I mean, they crushed us on the boards in the second half, especially.
00:35 That was an area that we really needed—we knew that we needed to improve upon.
00:38 We put them on the free-throw line way too many times.
00:41 But I'm just really proud of when we had to get a stop, we got a stop.
00:46 And when we had to get a basket, we got a basket.
00:49 And it's not one person we're finding a way.
00:51 So I'm just really proud of our steadiness.
00:55 I'm proud of the way that we showed the basketball.
00:57 Just so much fun today.
00:59 Yes, Skylar, I'm looking at a double-double from you tonight and a double-double from Nevaeh.
01:05 14 points, 10 assists, and no turnovers in this game.
01:09 Yeah.
01:10 Wow, I didn't even know that. That's amazing.
01:13 And how fun to put her on the free-throw line.
01:15 And I know she would have liked to have made a couple more of those.
01:19 But the one that she had to make, the one with the most pressure on her, she made.
01:24 And I'm so proud of that because the next time is not going to be the first time.
01:28 And so we're facing so many of these first times.
01:31 You know, the first time Sky has to have the ball in her hands.
01:33 I think she was a byproduct last year of Maddie Williams putting her in positions.
01:37 Now she's got the ball in her hands.
01:39 I mean, look at what Peyton Burholst, I felt like what she was able to do today.
01:42 I thought she was phenomenal too.
01:44 Sahara Williams, I mean, that was so much fun to be able to watch her.
01:48 I'm proud of our young players that came in because the first time they came in,
01:52 there's so much glitz and glamour here.
01:54 I mean, there's smoke.
01:55 I mean, they're sweeping the floor.
01:56 You know, they've got all this stuff.
01:57 They've got everything here.
01:58 There's lights everywhere.
01:59 There's cameras.
02:00 And, you know, I felt like we were really steady.
02:02 So it was fun.
02:03 I answered 10 questions you didn't even ask.
02:05 That's perfect.
02:06 A lot of energy.
