After sourcing a restored tape found on eBay, Glasgow Film Festival now has one of the only known copies of Billy Connolly’s 1977 documentary Big Banana Feet.

00:03 So a friend from the BFI got in touch and explained that he was able to source the only
00:11 16mm print of the film.
00:13 He found it on eBay, it was like £50, he bid for it and managed to get it.
00:16 So that's in the hands of the BFI now and they've restored it.
00:20 He's been in touch with Billy and obviously Billy's dealing with everything that he's
00:24 dealing with and he's been happy for the film to get a second lease of life.
00:31 So we're so happy that he came to us with it and we just thought what better place to
00:35 premiere the new restoration of the film than Glasgow.
00:38 It's something that people haven't seen, it's not really being seen that much.
00:42 So I think it's going to be a great little gem for people to, if you're younger and you've
00:48 never seen it, the chance to discover Billy Connolly at the height of his greatness.
00:53 And if it's just something you remember seeing from back in the day, it's a lovely nostalgia
00:57 trip for you.
00:58 So for us it was like a no brainer, just felt this is specifically Scottish and feels perfect
