Liam Marshall has embraced being part of the leadership group at Wigan Warriors
Transcript
00:00 Yes, there's a lot of talent, but obviously that doesn't always mean success.
00:03 And I think that's what we've worked on this pre-season,
00:05 is sort of gelling those new players in and getting them up to standards
00:08 with our standards as a team and what we expect day to day.
00:11 And they've been great at that so far.
00:14 Obviously, when the games come, there'll be some tough conversations
00:17 about picking teams and stuff.
00:19 And that'll be for us as a leadership group to keep that playing group together
00:22 and keep everyone on one side and looking towards that one common goal as a team.
00:25 So, yes, it'll be interesting.
00:27 And like you said, obviously, stepping up to the leadership group
00:29 has been an interesting role for me and something I've quite enjoyed.
00:33 I've still got a lot to learn, but it's been good enough
00:35 that I can help the group along.
00:37 It just sort of was a title that got put on it,
00:40 and I was invited to the meetings that they have weekly.
00:43 But no, I'm not really feeling any older.
00:46 I've tried to just be myself, and there's obviously a lot of different ways
00:50 you can lead a team.
00:51 And I'm probably not the most serious person around the group,
00:54 but you've got to have that balance, I think.
00:56 Just trying to not change anything about the way I am and do things I do
01:01 and sort of try and just be myself, like I said.
01:03 And I think it's working.
01:04 Hopefully it's working.
01:05 We'll see as the season goes on.
