00:02 - So we are officially recording
00:03 and this is the latest version
00:06 of the SOHH staff new music picks.
00:10 And we're here on, what is today's date?
00:12 Today is February 24th, 2035.
00:16 No, 2022.
00:17 And we are here to see a battle of new music.
00:21 This is your first time checking us out.
00:23 We meet up every single week
00:26 and we talk about who is the hottest new artist
00:28 that everyone should be listening to.
00:30 And in addition to that artist,
00:31 we make sure to mention a song
00:33 that you should be listening to as well.
00:36 FYI, if you didn't catch this last week
00:38 or see the results, we have a winner.
00:41 Where is he at?
00:42 Chris Goossens.
00:44 Where is Chris on my screen?
00:45 I'm looking at Chris right there.
00:47 Actually, I'm looking at,
00:48 for some reason I have Hannah on my screen.
00:51 I can't go over to Chris.
00:52 I'm just looking at, yes, Hannah,
00:54 but even if I'm clicking on Chris,
00:56 Chris, start talking man.
00:57 Pooh Shiesty, he won with literally nearly 4,000 votes.
01:01 84% of everybody like Pooh Shiesty's 762 guide.
01:05 I guess you can speak on his behalf for winning.
01:08 - He's nice, he's nice with it.
01:10 I figured, you know, I mean, he's buzzing right now anyway.
01:11 So maybe it was a little bit,
01:12 a little bit cheat-ish to use his name,
01:14 but you know, we got the win,
01:16 but he's nice with it though, so.
01:17 - Got you, got you.
01:18 I feel a little bit better because at 5%,
01:21 Queen T with "Her Too Hot,"
01:24 which, you know, I felt was second place,
01:27 but in comparison to Pooh Shiesty,
01:29 people just went nuts over that.
01:30 So Queen T will get you to be number one.
01:34 Just keep on dropping new music.
01:35 We're gonna have people vote on you.
01:36 You have my support,
01:38 and I can't wait for more of those photo ops
01:40 with your three little children
01:41 'cause they're super adorable.
01:42 Coming in third place, we actually had a two-way tie.
01:46 Hannah's Lady London's "Woosa"
01:49 and Triton's Bebo "Risk on Bop."
01:52 We will go to see Hannah.
01:53 This works out perfectly.
01:54 Hannah, can you give your girl Lady London some love
01:56 because she did come,
01:58 she did at least have a few people vote for her.
02:01 - I mean, I think she got me the most votes
02:03 I've gotten so far.
02:04 I don't think I've ever won,
02:05 so third place is okay to me.
02:08 - Yes, and third place is a tie with Triton.
02:11 Triton, big shout out to you, man.
02:13 Being over there on the West Coast,
02:14 I didn't know what you knew about the UK drill sound, man.
02:17 Please let us speak on "Risk on Bop" by Bebo.
02:21 - Yeah, man.
02:22 Y'all love this whole drill movement, man.
02:26 So I started looking for drill
02:27 and the next thing you know, there I was.
02:29 UK drill.
02:30 The kid's Bebo was like six foot eight, man.
02:32 He's like a beast over there.
02:34 And I thought they was,
02:35 I figured they was from London,
02:36 and so I found out they was from Ireland.
02:39 And the camp was pretty nice, man.
02:40 I listened to some of the other music.
02:42 They doing they thing.
02:44 - That's crazy, man.
02:45 And the last but not least,
02:46 look, man, it's all good, Amar.
02:48 Look, it's all good.
02:49 D3 season.
02:51 It's probably like we can't spell the name correctly.
02:53 It's D with a number three,
02:54 season without an E or an A.
02:57 Please, street heater, man.
02:58 They came in last place,
03:00 but a lot of potential with 3% of the vote.
03:02 - Yeah, I mean, I'm just gonna chalk that up
03:05 to like some East Coast bias.
03:06 You know, just not wanting to show
03:07 the West Coast artists some love.
03:09 But you know, we're gonna come back.
03:10 We're gonna win.
03:11 - Gotcha, gotcha.
03:13 Well, look, man, I see you draped out in that greenery, man.
03:17 So I know you have championship goals in mind.
03:19 With that being said,
03:20 it is time for us to brag about who we've been messing with.
03:24 I really wanna go first,
03:26 but because I talk too much as it is,
03:28 we'll just go down the line.
03:29 We'll let the champion,
03:31 actually, you know what?
03:32 We're gonna switch it up.
03:33 We're gonna go from last to first
03:34 because I feel maybe there's something
03:36 where people are picking the first person
03:38 on our YouTube poll.
03:39 So we're not gonna do that.
03:40 We're gonna stick with you, Amar.
03:41 Amar, who do you have this week, man?
03:43 What's the name of the artist, their song,
03:44 and a little bit of info about 'em?
03:46 - Okay, so my artist this week,
03:50 and if you're a sports fan,
03:51 you might know this name already, Will Clay.
03:54 He's a three-time Olympic medalist from the US.
03:59 He's got two silver medals in triple jump
04:01 and a bronze medal in the long jump.
04:03 And that was kind of my sport in high school,
04:05 one of my sports in high school,
04:06 so I got a bias there.
04:08 But for the last year or so, Will, he's been rapping.
04:12 He's been dropping videos on his YouTube channel.
04:15 And so the one that I picked for this week
04:19 is called "Mastermind."
04:20 He put that out recently.
04:24 He's done some songs with YG.
04:27 He did a song with D3 Season,
04:29 you know, who I talked about last week.
04:31 But yeah, I would check him out.
04:33 He's kind of a known name already for what he's done.
04:38 It's sports, but he's trying to do his thing in music.
04:40 So I think he's doing pretty good.
04:42 - Got you, man.
04:42 Wow, that was a tear-jerker, man,
04:44 from Olympics to rapping.
04:45 Very interesting.
04:46 Mr. Clay, cool, cool, cool.
04:48 So coming next, again, this is that whole two-way tie.
04:51 Let's go with Trenton first.
04:52 Big T, who do you have for this week, man?
04:55 - I got a kid named TKP Milk.
05:00 He's out of Jersey.
05:02 He dropped the album in 2020 during the quarantine.
05:07 And the album was called "Rose that Grew," I think it was.
05:11 The kid is nice.
05:13 The name of the song is called "Moving."
05:16 And, you know, check it out.
05:17 Like I said, he's like 20 years old.
05:19 He's out of Jersey.
05:20 He's on Netflix.
05:21 He's on a show on Netflix called "Grand Army."
05:24 The kid is nice with the producing, man.
05:29 He's kind of sick with it.
05:30 - Got you, got you.
05:31 Very cool.
05:32 Hannah, even though we said,
05:34 okay, just for FYI, on our YouTube poll,
05:36 we can only put five names on there.
05:38 But look, it wouldn't be right.
05:39 Hannah, even though we're not gonna put your artist on
05:42 this week, who did you have lined up for this week?
05:46 - Her name was Tay Money.
05:48 Her song was "Bussin."
05:52 She started popping on TikTok and Instagram recently.
05:57 Her career, she kind of started in like 2017.
06:00 And then her TikTok and Instagram started going up.
06:04 Her song is "Bussin," not to get confused with
06:05 "Buss It" by Erykah Banks.
06:08 And it has like over 11 million views on YouTube.
06:12 So it's pretty popping.
06:14 - What?
06:15 Oh man, I don't know.
06:17 Yeah, we might have to ditch Will Clay for Tay Money.
06:20 I'm sorry, I don't know, man.
06:22 11 million or worst case,
06:24 we might have her be the star of next week.
06:26 So, and then coming down to it,
06:28 Miss one and only Hanan,
06:30 let's go ahead and find out what your artist did
06:33 or was about.
06:34 - Yes.
06:35 So my artist this week is
06:38 Summit, I believe it's pronounced.
06:42 And he is also known as Vinny Lil Vizzy.
06:46 He's up and coming.
06:49 He's from Philly.
06:51 Town sounds like my hometown.
06:55 That's part of the reason also,
06:57 helps why I picked him,
06:58 Worcester, Worcester.
07:00 So,
07:01 the song I recommended was actually titled "Game 7"
07:08 and it's with his first collaboration
07:12 with Sean Kingston,
07:14 beautiful girls.
07:16 You remember that song?
07:17 So it was his first collab
07:20 and he's up and coming, like I said.
07:22 So his first album
07:25 or really appearance was in October of last year
07:30 for his EP "Stimulus".
07:33 And that's really what got people to pay attention at all.
07:36 And now because of the success of "Stimulus",
07:40 he's able to move on
07:41 and he has some new projects coming up this year.
07:46 So he's my recommendation
07:48 'cause I want people to pay attention to him.
07:52 - Yes, yes, yes.
07:55 And real quick, 'cause I need to get my guy's song
07:58 primed up so I can hype it up a little bit more.
08:00 Just tell me,
08:00 just can you describe a little bit more about him
08:04 and just kind of his physical nature?
08:08 - Yeah, so he is very, very passionate.
08:11 When I was reading up on him,
08:12 it's not just the actual track, "Game 7".
08:15 Of course I like Sean Kingston too,
08:18 but the point is he wrote all of his lyrics.
08:21 He writes all of his verses.
08:23 So he's really about the craft rap,
08:26 from childhood, this is what he wanted to do.
08:29 And he's finally getting somewhat of a break, big break.
08:33 And he's just gonna get better from here.
08:36 And I'm excited for his new music coming out.
08:39 - 100%.
08:40 Oh man, you just filled up those 45 seconds that I needed.
08:43 Hannah, thank you.
08:44 I'll even vote, I'll help you by voting for your artist,
08:47 okay, for helping me out right there.
08:49 What I want to plug is my particular artist,
08:53 not my little particular artist, but BBS Ken.
08:56 You've heard his name before.
08:57 That's Tory Lanez's guy.
08:59 I don't know if he's really Canadian.
09:01 I think he's pretty much Canadian,
09:03 but I believe he's a signed,
09:05 he is signed to Umbrella Records.
09:07 Very dope, he is pretty much the way I view it.
09:09 So you got Tory Lanez, kinda hate him or love him.
09:11 And he always is rocking up with BBS Ken.
09:14 He puts him on a lot of collaborations.
09:15 He was on "Boink Boink" with Rich the Kid.
09:18 He was also on, what was it, "One Hitter,"
09:21 which is a really dope song by Tory Lanez.
09:24 And he's just a really,
09:25 I really compare him to how Kanye and Pusha are, right?
09:28 Pusha's kinda like, gives like that street vibe.
09:31 And like, he gives good music those street credentials.
09:34 I feel the same way as true with BBS Ken,
09:36 although I don't know if it's BBS Ken
09:38 or B.B. Dollar Sign Ken.
09:39 I think it's BBS Ken.
09:40 But he puts the dollar sign like makes you so dope.
09:42 Super dope, he just has a really chill flow.
09:46 You know, dark skin, real flashy,
09:48 what with his jewelry.
09:50 The fashion drip is nice.
09:52 Tory shows him a lot of love.
09:54 He is, I'm telling you,
09:55 he is very, very much destined to blow up
09:58 and just like kill it.
10:00 I don't know if the whole Tory Lanez association
10:01 is kinda giving him a little bit of negative light,
10:04 but look, when he gets his chance to get on records,
10:06 he kills it.
10:07 The record that I really wanna push one hitter,
10:10 'cause it has Tory Lanez on it,
10:11 but because that's not his most recent song,
10:13 I'm going with a song,
10:15 so that's a music video called "Tension."
10:17 It's very dope.
10:18 It's just him just rapping his real dope flow.
10:21 He's in an elevator.
10:22 He's like in a private suite just rapping.
10:25 It's super, super, super dope.
10:27 Gotta shout out BBS Ken.
10:28 I'm pulling for you, man.
10:30 I really, I want him to win
10:31 so that we can get him into one of these squad chats
10:35 and just like do a quick Q&A.
10:37 But with that being said, championship goals,
10:41 Pooh Shiesty's number one guy right over here, man.
10:44 Chris G, can you repeat success?
10:46 Can you be like the Bulls and go back to back?
10:48 Who do you have this week, man?
10:50 - Back to back to back.
10:51 Yeah, so this week we got KBFR,
10:53 and it stands for KB for real,
10:55 and I think the KB part is for Kelby, which is his real name.
10:58 And he's, I don't know, he kinda went viral like last year
11:01 with his song "Hood Baby."
11:02 It went viral on TikTok kinda, and it kinda blew up.
11:05 And he's nice with it.
11:06 He reminds me a lot of Tee Grizzley.
11:07 Like he's got a good flow.
11:08 I think he's with Columbia Records.
11:09 They just signed him and stuff.
11:10 So I don't know, he's nice with it.
11:12 And anyways, this song is called "We Go,"
11:15 but it's like just all one word.
11:18 And I don't know, it's nice.
11:20 Like I said, he reminds me of Tee Grizzley a lot.
11:21 He can really spit bars and stuff.
11:23 So hopefully I can get that repeat.
11:25 - Nice, man.
11:26 Yes, yes, yes.
11:27 So that is it.
11:28 This is a chance for any last-minute,
11:30 and please like, oh my gosh,
11:32 will you guys please vote for my artist?
11:34 No, nobody wants to beg.
11:35 Well, I will.
11:36 Please, if you've made it this long to the video,
11:39 you've watched all of our faces
11:41 because everyone else that has staff,
11:43 they don't show their faces, right?
11:45 We're showing our faces.
11:46 We're showing the Soul brand.
11:48 At the end of the day, BBS Ken, I'm pulling for you, man.
11:50 Please have all of your Umbrella crew come vote for you.
11:54 The poll will be up shortly.
11:56 If you're seeing this video,
11:57 90% chance the poll's either above or below this video.
12:02 If you're on our YouTube channel
12:03 and watching this as an individual YouTube video,
12:06 then just click somewhere down below.
12:07 There is a link that goes right to the poll.

12:13 and we will have the winner
12:15 as our channel spotlight on YouTube
12:17 to our 500,000 plus subscribers.
12:19 That's a lot of love and attention.
12:21 I'm pulling for you, BBS Ken.
12:23 As always, thank you all for rocking with us,
12:25 and thank you to the Soul Squad.
