00:00 "Just say my name."
00:01 "That's crossing a line. It would be inappropriate."
00:03 "It must be inappropriate."
00:05 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most scintillating forbidden loves that have ever graced our television.
00:12 Look out for romantic spoilers ahead.
00:14 "It's happening."
00:16 "Shh. Don't worry about it."
00:20 Number 20. Piper Halliwell and Leo Wyatt. Charmed.
00:24 "You asked me to marry you, and I did. You wanted a family, and I gave you a son, and now you want me to watch you just walk away?"
00:37 Piper and Leo were one of the longest-running couples on Charmed, and perhaps one of the couples plagued with the most heartache.
00:43 Leo entered the Charmed One's lives when he was assigned by heavenly beings called the Elders to be the sisters' white lighter, or guardian angel of sorts.
00:51 White lighters and witches were forbidden from being involved romantically, but the connection between Piper and Leo was just too strong to ignore.
00:59 "How do you feel about guys who make the second move?"
01:02 "Love 'em."
01:03 [Laughs]
01:05 That forbidden aspect to their relationship plagued them continuously throughout the show, keeping them apart time and time again.
01:14 But in the end, these two proved they belonged together.
01:17 "We changed the past to fix the future and save the present. That's all."
01:22 Number 19. Brandon and Callie Foster. The Fosters.
01:26 Sure, Brandon and Callie are not actually related, but there are still a lot of roadblocks when it comes to dating as Foster siblings.
01:33 "Don't. We can't."
01:37 "Yes, we can. You can still get adopted, and I'll stay at my dad's. We can see each other there."
01:44 "Behind everybody's backs?"
01:46 The romantic feelings between Brandon and Callie seemed obvious to viewers from the moment they met.
01:51 Brandon acted on these feelings fairly early, but Callie was more hesitant to move forward,
01:55 knowing that if she became involved with a Foster sibling, she might be kicked out of the house.
02:00 "But you don't just ruin things for you. You ruin them for me, too. 'Cause we're a package deal. You know they're not going to separate us."
02:07 The two ultimately ended up pressing down their feelings for each other to ensure that Callie could get adopted.
02:12 But brally shippers out there in the world still hold out hope that something might have been possible for these two beyond the series' end.
02:19 "I'm ready to risk the blame. Call me a rose. And we'll never need their rules to guide the way."
02:31 Number 18. Victoria Grayson and David Clark. Revenge.
02:35 Revenge was filled with plenty of twists and turns over its four-year run,
02:39 but nothing was quite as surprising as the relationship between Victoria Grayson and David Clark.
02:44 "I couldn't save her in the end. So what does it matter?"
02:47 "It matters to me."
02:53 Victoria was part of the reason that David Clark was framed for the crashed Flight 197.
02:58 We had this information for most of the series' run, but then romance threw a wrench in what we thought we knew.
03:04 Turns out, before the series, Victoria and David engaged in an affair that resulted in the birth of Victoria's daughter Charlotte.
03:10 "So you knew that she was my daughter, and you painted her as an enemy."
03:16 "She is my enemy, David."
03:19 Victoria was forced by Conrad to blame David, and she ends up deeply affected by her actions throughout the course of the show.
03:26 We're not gonna lie, things don't end up great for these two, and it was twisted while it lasted.
03:31 "This is about us, about how you can lie to me, yet demand absolute honesty."
03:36 "Did you say you love me?"
03:43 "Well, um..."
03:46 "Lee Adama loves me."
03:48 "No, all I meant was..."
03:49 "No, seriously, very sweet. You love me."
03:52 Come on, who hasn't fallen into a complicated yet loving relationship with their dead fiancé's brother?
03:57 No? Just Cara Thrace, then?
03:59 Well, it might not be normal, but it's certainly made for compelling television.
04:03 "Good to see you too, Captain."
04:04 "Remind me to send you to the brig later."
04:08 The complexities between Cara Thrace and Lee Adama started way before the events of Battlestar Galactica.
04:13 Any chance of a romance between the two seems impossible because of Cara's previous engagement to Lee's brother, Zack.
04:19 Even more than that, the two are so completely different.
04:22 But sometimes, those differences are the things that make them seem destined to be together.
04:27 "Besides, I never really could say no to anything."
04:29 "Except me."
04:32 "Especially you."
04:35 Number 16. Alicia Floric and Will Gardner, The Good Wife.
04:39 "Do you think it was a mistake?"
04:40 "No."
04:44 Workplace relationships are taboo for a reason.
04:48 But when your chemistry is as hot as Alicia and Will's, maybe exceptions should be made.
04:53 Throughout The Good Wife, Will makes his attraction to Alicia quite plain.
04:57 But she tends to push him away.
04:58 "Oh my God, listen to yourself, Will. You are not the injured party here."
05:01 "Oh, and you are?"
05:02 "I am, yes!"
05:04 It probably doesn't help that she is married and her husband is in prison.
05:08 She's going through a lot, okay?
05:10 But even with all those obstacles between them,
05:12 the sheer passion between Alicia and Will pushes their relationship forward.
05:16 Making out in elevators has never been this sexy.
05:19 "Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in."
05:25 Number 15. Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore, The Vampire Diaries.
05:30 "You want me?"
05:30 "Excuse me?"
05:32 "I get to you. You find yourself drawn to me.
05:35 You think about me even when you don't want to think about me.
05:36 I bet you even dreamed about me."
05:38 It's a tale as old as time.
05:40 In so many of our favorite stories, a vampire and a human fall in love
05:45 but can't be together because one of them literally consumes part of the other for sustenance.
05:49 But The Vampire Diaries didn't stop there.
05:51 They threw a love triangle with a brother into the mix.
05:54 "He didn't tell me he had a brother."
05:56 "Well, Stefan's not one to brag."
05:57 At the beginning of The Vampire Diaries,
06:00 Elena begins dating the vampire Stefan Salvatore.
06:03 Then his brother Damon shows up,
06:04 hell-bent on taking revenge on his brother and doing some truly horrific things to Elena.
06:09 The two start off as foes,
06:11 but eventually that animosity turns into a tentative friendship and later love.
06:16 "You've been a terrible person.
06:19 You've made all the wrong choices, and of all the choices that I've made,
06:23 this will prove to be the worst one, but I am not sorry that I'm in love with you."
06:27 Carrie Matheson and Nicholas Brody - Homeland
06:31 If you're working for the CIA,
06:33 it's probably a given that you shouldn't become romantically involved
06:36 with someone who's under investigation for terrorism.
06:39 But on Homeland, Carrie Matheson was never one for playing by the rules.
06:43 "I know. Pissed off all my college boyfriends, too."
06:47 "All of them?"
06:48 "Both of them."
06:49 In season one, she takes an investigation into her own hands,
06:53 looking into a possible POW-turned-terrorist named Brody outside of CIA protocol.
06:58 She eventually strikes up a romantic relationship with him,
07:01 and when he finds out about her initial intentions, he's unhappy to say the least.
07:06 "It was my job. It is my job."
07:09 "So you're still spying."
07:10 "I'm working. I'm always working."
07:13 The back and forth between Carrie and Brody forms the meat of much of the first few seasons of the show.
07:18 We know this relationship isn't a great idea, but listen,
07:21 "You could cut that tension with a knife."
07:23 "I do feel used. I play it. I'd like to. I also feel good."
07:33 Number 13. Leslie Knope and Ben Wyatt - Parks and Recreation
07:37 "We tried hanging out together, we tried working together, and it just bums me out."
07:44 "No, no, no, no, no. We're just working out the kinks.
07:46 You don't need to decrease your time with me. In fact, you need to increase your time with me.
07:50 You need to spend more time with me. That make sense? I think it does."
07:53 The Pawnee, Indiana Parks and Recreation department might not be as intense a workplace as some,
07:58 but it certainly can breed illicit romances of its own.
08:01 "I don't want anyone to think that you got where you are today by sleeping with your boss."
08:06 "But I really like sleeping with my boss."
08:09 "Yeah."
08:10 Ben Wyatt doesn't show up on Parks and Recreation until the end of season two,
08:14 but it's hard to imagine the show without his and Leslie's incessant flirting.
08:18 They are explicitly forbidden from dating each other, and Leslie's bid for city leadership
08:23 doesn't necessarily leave a lot of time for romance. Despite the setbacks they face, however,
08:28 it's clear from the get-go they've always got each other's backs.
08:31 "How would you imagine we do this?"
08:32 "I don't know, but I, I know how I feel, and I want to be with you.
08:37 But I'm done steamrolling people. This is how I feel. How do you feel?"
08:43 "I'm done."
08:48 Number 12. Meredith Gray and Derek Shepherd. Gray's Anatomy. Picture this. You have a
08:53 one-night stand before your first day at your new job. You show up to your new job and realize that
08:58 your one-night stand? He's your boss. "Dr. Shepherd, we should pretend it never happened."
09:02 "What never happened? You sleeping with me last night? Or are you throwing me out this morning?
09:06 Because both are fond memories I like to hold on to."
09:08 Later, you're maybe starting to get used to the idea of dating at the workplace.
09:12 Then, your boyfriend/boss's estranged wife shows up. This is the kind of thing that Meredith Gray
09:18 is dealing with on Gray's Anatomy. "He's a brain surgeon. How can he be so brainless?"
09:23 "Hello? Seriously?" "Seriously."
09:26 Despite all those early hurdles from Meredith and Derek Shepherd's forbidden romance,
09:30 they quickly become one of the show's most beloved couples.
09:33 Meredith's "pick me" speech is still one of the most iconic moments in television history.
09:38 "Pick me. Choose me. Love me."
09:43 Number 11. Fleabag and the Priest. Fleabag. Dating a man of the cloth? Well, that's probably about
09:51 as forbidden as you can get. But rules never stopped Fleabag before. And she's not about
09:55 to let them stop her now. "Tell me your sins. If you want." "Why would I tell you my sins?"
10:03 "Because it will make you feel better. And because I want to know."
10:08 The second season of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's amazing show Fleabag was somehow better than
10:12 its first. A lot of that had to do with the introduction of Andrew Scott's affectionately
10:17 nicknamed "hot priest." "He's been annoying, Ashley." "What is that? What?"
10:22 "The thing that you're doing. It's like you disappear." "What?" "What are you not telling me?"
10:27 The relationship between Fleabag and the Priest starts friendly enough. They're eventually pushed
10:32 over that line, however, leaving the audience wondering how things would turn out. The answer?
10:37 With one of the most heartbreakingly profound endings of any show ever. "I love you."
10:43 "It'll pass." Number 10. Alison Bailey and Noah Soloway. The affair. "You found me."
11:04 "No, no, I was just out on a walk." Extramarital affairs certainly count as forbidden. When Noah
11:11 Soloway meets Alison Bailey at the diner where she works as a waitress, he's a happily married man.
11:16 Or at least mostly happy. "Well, welcome to the end of the world." Alison herself is trying to
11:21 get her life back together after the death of her son. While cheating isn't cool, they,
11:26 like others on this list, are captivated by desire. "You're married too?" "That's right."
11:33 "Surprise." With the story told from the shifting, often differing perspectives of these two leads,
11:43 it is a provocative look into the minds of people who know deep down they should not be together.
11:48 "Let's dance." "There's no music." "There is music. Come on. Come on."
12:00 Number 9. Cole Turner and Phoebe Halliwell. Charmed. "Phoebe, what's going on?" "I'm embracing
12:07 my new destiny." The first but not last supernaturally star-crossed lovers, Cole and
12:12 Phoebe got off to a rocky start. As half-demon soldier Balthasar, Cole was sent after the
12:18 Charmed sisters by the Triad. "Are you sure about this? You're giving up your life?"
12:22 "My life is with you and our baby." However, his human side emerged when he fell in love with
12:30 Phoebe and it began to be his dominant trait. Sadly, things couldn't stay rosy for long.
12:34 "We've been through so much together, haven't we? Our love's so strong, nothing can destroy it,
12:42 not even this." When he became possessed by the source of all evil, Phoebe temporarily joined
12:49 him as an evildoer. However, she would eventually break things off in a big way with the help of
12:54 her sisters. "We're meant to be together." "I don't think so." Number eight, Saeed Jaraa and
13:05 Nadia Jassim, Lost. This dynamic and game-changing series from the early 2000s pushed the boundaries
13:13 of long-form storytelling in many ways, with engaging characters carrying the addictive,
13:19 if at times convoluted, plot. "Nadia. Her name is Nadia." One such character is Saeed Jaraa,
13:27 one of the Oceanic Six. Saeed and Noor Nadia Abed Jassim first meet as children and schoolyard
13:33 friends. As an adult, Saeed joins the Iraqi Republican Guard, while Nadia is a freedom
13:39 fighter against Saddam Hussein's regime. "If you prove you're willing to cooperate,
13:44 I think I can get them to free you." When she's captured, it's Saeed's job to interrogate her.
13:49 Instead, he falls in love with her all over again and helps her to escape. "Come with me."
13:54 "I can't. Desertion. They would kill my family." Number seven, Ned and Charlotte Chuck Charles,
14:05 Pushing Daisies. "What do you need to be happy?" "You."
14:15 Ned's got a very particular talent. With the touch of a finger, he can bring the deceased
14:21 back to life. Charlotte, aka Chuck, was the girl next door and Ned's childhood crush. Sadly,
14:28 in adulthood, she's murdered. So, Ned takes it upon himself to resurrect his one-time sweetheart.
14:33 There is a catch, however. Another touch puts anyone Ned has resuscitated back down for good.
14:41 Despite being in love, they can never touch. Not a kiss goodnight, not a little hand-holding
14:47 at sunset. "Are you watching me sleep?" "Uh, no. Sorta. But mainly I was just waiting for you to
14:53 wake up, and in the process of waiting for you to wake up, I was, yes, I was watching you sleep."
14:58 They come up with creative ways to be in contact. Smooch through a body bag, anyone?
15:02 But they are still playing a dangerous game of keep-away.
15:05 Number 6. Tom Branson and Cybill Crawley, Downton Abbey.
15:18 This is the classic tale of two lovers from opposite sides of the tracks. Cybill is the
15:30 youngest daughter of a well-established aristocratic house. She might have progressive
15:34 views, but her future path seems set for her, until she meets Tom Branson, the new chauffeur.
15:40 "It seems rather unlikely, a revolutionary chauffeur." "Maybe. But I'm a socialist,
15:46 not a revolutionary. And I won't always be a chauffeur." An Irishman and outspoken socialist,
15:53 he is in many ways against everything the Crawley family represents in society.
15:57 "Sometimes a hard sacrifice must be made for a future that's worth having.
16:01 That's all I'm saying. That's up to you." However, despite their different backgrounds,
16:08 they have similar political minds, and it isn't long before their romance blossoms in
16:13 spite of her family's initial disapproval. "For now, God knows it's enough that I can kiss you."
16:17 When they're discovered, they do everything they can to stay together,
16:21 finally achieving their happy ending, if not for long.
16:25 "Don't leave me. Please wake up, love. Please don't leave me."
16:29 Number 5. Olivia Pope and Fitzgerald Fitzgrant. Scandal.
16:33 "I think that love allows for forgiveness. Don't you?"
16:38 With a name like Scandal, you know this show is gonna be filled with salacious secrets.
16:43 Olivia Pope helped Fitzgrant make it to the White House, but their professional
16:47 relationship crosses lines and leads to a... scandalous affair.
16:51 "You almost died. Don't do it again." "Okay."
16:55 But once the stump speeches and the election are over, who's still jumping into bed is another
17:00 thing. "Kiss me, Olivia. You know you want to."
17:04 Washington, D.C. is a hotbed of secrets and political one-upmanship, and despite all the
17:09 work to get Grant into the Oval Office, an extramarital affair could mean the undoing
17:14 of everything they built.
17:19 Number 4. Dayanara Daya Diaz and John Bennett. Orange is the New Black.
17:24 "You shouldn't really be out here." "It's okay. I wanted to see you."
17:29 Every relationship has its own power dynamic as two partners figure each other out,
17:33 which is why in situations where the balance is already unnaturally tipped, romantic relations
17:38 are not typically recommended. That being said, this is a forbidden romance list,
17:43 and Dannett is an undeniably cute couple. John Bennett is, or was, a correctional officer at
17:49 Litchfield Penitentiary. Daya Diaz is an inmate. "Look at the dog. This is so great."
17:56 You can already see the problem here. However, despite the taboo nature of their romance,
18:03 they communicate through notes and quickie hookups. Daya becomes pregnant with John's child,
18:08 a fact that could get John in serious trouble. "We will probably never be rich,
18:12 and we'll most likely live in a place that's not that big, but we'll work hard,
18:17 and we'll love each other, and we'll find so much happiness that we won't even know what to do with
18:23 it." The strain it all puts them through is just as real as the love is. "Will you marry me?"
18:28 Number 3. Ezra Fitz and Aria Montgomery, Pretty Little Liars
18:33 "I'd like to know more about you." "Yeah, I'd like to know more about you, too."
18:41 Ever gone out and met someone really cute at a bar? Someone you connected to and with whom
18:46 you shared interests as well as had a physical attraction to? "Who's without saying that I'm
18:52 hooked on you?" Did that person turn out to be your high school teacher? Well,
18:57 this is the situation that Ezra Fitz and Aria Montgomery find themselves in. "Holy crap."
19:02 Aria tries to do what she feels is the right thing, asking to be transferred out of the cute
19:10 young prof's class because she doesn't think she could help herself and doesn't want to put him in
19:14 an awkward position. "I'd like to transfer out of your class." But the stars align a different way
19:19 and she stays. Professor-student relationships are highly taboo, but we're sure glad we got Ezra
19:25 despite it. Number 2. Bill Compton and Sookie Stackhouse, True Blood
19:33 "You're a first. Vampire." "Am I that obvious?" "I knew the minute you came in."
19:43 What's the only thing more complicated than friends becoming lovers? When one of them is
19:48 a vampire, of course. Even in a world where vampires have come out into the open, the
19:52 situation is fraught with peril and so many ups and downs we don't even know where to begin.
19:57 "What are you?" "I told you, I'm a waitress." Sookie Stackhouse is a half-fairy, half-human
20:06 with the ability to read people's thoughts. Bill Compton is a 150-plus-year-old vampire.
20:12 "I'm a vampire." "I'm a vampire."
20:19 You'd think their supernatural status would be enough, but in the end,
20:23 theirs is a love story marred by tragedy, betrayal, redemption, and heartache.
20:27 "I always thought as different as we are. Somehow, we could still be together.
20:37 And now I don't know." Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the

20:48 videos or all of them. If you're on your phone, make sure you go into your settings
20:52 and switch on notifications. Number 1. Buffy Summers and Angel
20:58 Buffy the Vampire Slayer. "I love you. I try not to, but I can't stop."
21:04 "Me too." Buffy doesn't just slay some serious vampire butt, but she looks good doing it. The
21:12 teenage slayer is stumped, therefore, when she encounters Angel, a vampire who is not like the
21:17 rest. He actually seems to have a soul. "You're the mystery guy that appears out of nowhere.
21:21 I'm not saying I'm not happy about it tonight, but if you are hanging around, I'd like to know why."
21:28 "Maybe I like you." Cautious indifference turns to attraction, however, as it becomes apparent
21:34 they're on the same side, at least for a time. When they consummate their love and his soul
21:38 is suddenly lost, things get real bad, real fast. "I love you." "I love you."
21:44 "Close your eyes." It's been 20 years and we're still not over the tragedy that was becoming.
21:54 And cue the Sarah McLachlan. If we missed any of your favorite illicit affairs,
21:59 let us know in the comments below. "Nothing else matters. Nothing else matters. Only us."
