Lamar Jackson Pushes Baltimore Ravens Over Texans, to AFC Championship Game
Transcript
00:00 What the Baltimore Ravens have just done sets in motion a number of cogs in the AFC wheel
00:08 and beyond.
00:09 Mike Fisher reporting on the NFL.
00:10 34 to 10, Baltimore Ravens win in their Saturday home game.
00:14 The crowd, you, very much involved in helping to take down the visiting and upstart Houston
00:21 Texans.
00:22 34 to 10, the final score, 10 to 10 at halftime.
00:23 And then Lamar Jackson at halftime took over in the locker room with some expletives.
00:28 And then in the second half took over on the field.
00:31 Four total touchdowns.
00:33 Ravens now move on to the AFC championship game.
00:35 They'll take the winner at home of Kansas City at Buffalo, the Sunday night game.
00:41 Of course, the Buffalo Bills want to handle Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey and the Chiefs
00:47 so they too can advance back to the AFC championship game and maybe even back to the Super Bowl,
00:53 a place, of course, in the early 90s where they were a regular suitor.
00:59 They would like to go back and avenge some of the things that happened to them in those
01:03 Super Bowl games against the Dallas Cowboys and much, much more.
01:06 Of course, wrapped into this is the successful season of the Houston Texans.
01:11 This is a magnificent turnaround under a quartet of rookies.
01:15 Well, Anderson, the defensive lineman, the head coach, D'Amico Ryan, the offensive coordinator,
01:19 Bobby Sloak.
01:20 And of course, in his first year, C.J. Stroud, who after the game says, "We have created
01:24 a rock-solid foundation under head coach Ryan's, but my background and where I come from and
01:30 what I'm used to, this still counts as a failure."
01:34 That's not, of course, the way the Houston organization looks at it, nor is that the
01:37 way the rest of the NFL looks at it.
01:40 The Houston Texans have built something really solid here that if things go just right, might
01:46 just allow them to catch up sometime soon with the Chiefs of the NFL and the AFC, with
01:51 the Bills and with the Ravens of the AFC and the NFL as well.
01:56 On the NFL, Fish out.
