A mock draft for all six Bears selections in the 2024 draft, including the No. 1 overall pick.
Transcript
00:00 The great debate rages between trading the first pick in the draft and keeping
00:13 Justin Fields or trading Justin Fields and keeping that pick probably for Kayla
00:19 Williams. Now with Bear Digest mock draft 1.0 for 2024 this isn't a problem at all
00:28 because there are no trades in it. In some of the later versions we will have
00:32 trades but not in the first one. So without further ado the Chicago Bears
00:37 are on the clock in Bear Digest mock draft 1.0 for 2024.
00:44 On one number one Kayla Williams of USC of course he threw 93 touchdown passes
00:49 just 14 interceptions in 37 college games. That's pretty incredible but not
00:54 as incredible as some of the magical Patrick Mahomes type plays that he made.
00:58 The Bears GM Ryan Pohl said he needs to be blown away to decide to take a
01:03 quarterback number one. Well there's a high wind advisory for draft day.
01:08 Round one number nine Alabama edge rusher Dallas Turner. Matt Iberflues likes his
01:13 edge rushers to be able to rush without forgetting about the run. Well Turner
01:17 made 32 and a half tackles for loss besides his 22 and a half career tackles.
01:22 The Bears don't have a second rounder. Their second rounder is Montez Sweat.
01:26 Well worth the trade. Round three number 75 safety Javon Bullard of Georgia.
01:35 They have safeties? No way they're keeping Eddie Jackson in his 30s because of that
01:39 18 million dollar cap hit. Bullard hits and he can field throws from the deep
01:44 spot. He had four interceptions eight pass breakups and he's a sure tackler
01:48 which even the fans of Jackson have to admit that he really hasn't been.
01:55 Round four number 110 another Georgia guy center Cedric Von Prahn. The Bears have a
01:59 real need for a center. They've needed him one for four or five years. Von Prahn is
02:04 six four three ten blocks good enough to be a guard. It will be a steal in round
02:08 four. Round four number 122 yes another Georgia guy. White receiver Marcus
02:15 Rosemi Jack Saint. Yes and it's three in a row here. This is a player whose skills
02:21 didn't get used fully at Georgia because of the run oriented attack but he's
02:25 long-arm six two two ten very vertical. He goes up after the ball well makes
02:29 one-handed catches. He had only 74 career catches but last year averaged 15.4
02:35 yards a catch. The Bears need receivers. And the last Bears pick overall round
02:41 five number 146 Moose Muhammad the wide receiver of Texas A&M. Yes the Bears need
02:47 receivers and who better than the son of former Bears receiver Mooseen Muhammad.
02:51 It's cosmic justice because his dad was the one who said Chicago is where wide
02:56 receivers go to die. But his son will go there to flourish with Williams a
03:00 quarterback in this mock draft. A great hands guy who runs good routes and makes
03:05 acrobatic catches. So that's it they have no sixth or seventh round picks as they
03:09 were traded and they're not projected for compensatory picks but wait for
03:14 mock draft 2.0 when there are trades then there'll be plenty of picks.
