00:00 How important is it to work on set pieces and give them,
00:03 just you need to be here, you need to be here and that's it,
00:06 we can score, how important is that?
00:08 It's very important. The reality that we train set pieces less in the last week than
00:12 other aspects of the game. This is the beauty of it. But we work a lot of things that
00:16 actually they happen and we train them a lot.
00:19 Really pleased with the clean sheet first, which was something that we've been missing
00:24 as well to win more games and with the amount of goals scored and sharing those goals as well,
00:28 which I think is going to make a really good impact on the team.
00:31 Declan came off and looked like he said 'hami', is there any more you can add on that?
00:39 No, he was feeling some tightness, I don't know exactly what muscle it was, but
00:43 when he says that at 3-0, obviously we don't want to take any risk.
00:47 And the same with Big Gabi as well, he had some discomfort, I think he had a tackle
00:52 in the first half and he was a bit struggling, so it was the right moment to take him off the field.
00:57 You've spoken about the game state and how important that's been,
01:00 the time struggle to create chances, was that an example today in the second half of what
01:05 two set-piece goals can do?
01:07 Absolutely. And as well having the ability to score from many different ways,
01:11 especially when you're attacking low blocks teams like this, to score in a certain way,
01:16 everything has to be nailed absolutely perfectly. And when you generate things
01:20 that are a bit more chaotic, sometimes it opens teams up and it's more difficult to do that.
01:24 And today I think we exploited that really good because Palace had to change their behaviour
01:28 and that allowed spaces for us to exploit.
01:30 And Gabriel obviously scored the first one, I think the second has been given as an own goal,
01:35 which seemed a bit unlucky. I think that's only his second goal this season, would you like the
01:40 central defenders to get a few more? It helps doesn't it when a team is struggling?
01:45 Absolutely. And he's got this ability and the timing, the deliveries have been really
01:49 consistent and good as well. And there are others like Willy as well that he has this
01:52 capacity to score more goals. And yeah, we don't have 30-40 goals on someone,
02:01 we have to share them and this is a good quality of the team.
02:04 You talked about the set-pieces, but how pleasing was that third goal and the way
02:10 he counted so quickly and the way Leandro took the goal too?
02:14 Yeah, the whole action, reading the space, the behaviour of the front players to open up the
02:18 map and then the individual action of Gabi as well to play the ball in the right time,
02:23 in the right pace in front of the defender. And then Leo, it's what Leo does, he's so composed
02:28 in the box. I think the closer he gets to the goal, the calmer he is and I think the decision
02:32 making and execution was top.
02:34 Too late goals from Martinelli, he said he wasn't struggling for confidence,
02:40 how much did he need to find back?
02:42 I think that's going to make him really good. And sometimes when you are in that period as well,
02:46 he had a little issue in the last two days in training and he wasn't fully, fully fit.
02:51 That changes momentum and it changes perception, it re-energises you and I think it's a good thing.
02:57 Just on the corner, George Graham was here today, who is an Arsenal team,
03:04 who are famous for those sort of goals. Have you spoken to him at all?
03:07 No, I haven't had the chance to.
03:09 OK, anyone else?
03:12 How are you using the break now after such a hectic period?
03:17 Well, resting and looking after some players. At the moment we are really short in numbers,
03:22 so we really have to manage a few players, especially those that play so much football.
03:26 Then we have good training blocks, one to train really hard and the other ones to use
03:30 them more for game preparation. So we're going to have to try to maximise that space.
03:35 - Okay, well, thanks a lot.
03:37 - Yeah, thank you.
