Transcript
00:00 The Texas Longhorns have been searching for the replacement for
00:03 tight end Jatavion Sanders, who is one of the five playmakers on offense that is
00:07 departing for the NFL.
00:09 Joined by receivers Xavier Worthy, Adonay Mitchell, Jordan Whittington, and
00:13 running back Jonathan Brooks,
00:15 Sanders will depart after having a huge impact on offense and
00:19 will also be tough to replace.
00:20 However, the Longhorns look to the transfer portal to do just that,
00:24 as they did in rebuilding their wide receiver core after landing
00:28 Matthew Golden from Houston, Isaiah Bond from Alabama, and
00:31 Silas Bolden from Oregon State.
00:33 Now on Thursday, they were able to find their tight end replacement for Sanders,
00:38 as they again turned to what has been a trusty pipeline from Tuscaloosa to Austin.
00:43 Alabama tight end Omari Nyblack took to social media to announce that he will be
00:47 transferring to Texas.
00:49 He marks the third player from Alabama that the Longhorns have brought in
00:53 through the portal this offseason.
00:55 He was the third leading receiver for the Crimson Tide as they went on to win the
00:59 SEC and make a college football playoff appearance, but
01:03 ended up losing to the eventual champions, Michigan.
01:06 The former four star recruit out of Florida snagged 20 passes for
01:09 327 yards for four touchdowns, pretty good.
01:13 According to 24/7 Sports, he is ranked as a number 28 overall transfer portal player
01:18 and number one tight end in the portal.
01:21 At 6'4 and 233 pounds, Nyblack offers quarterback Quinn Ewers
01:26 a massive target to throw to in 2024.
01:29 After losing so much talent to the draft, it seems that the Texas Longhorns
01:33 are having no trouble replacing that top tier talent.
