00:00 He is a well-known glass artist and in fact he is considered as the father of Philippine glass sculpture
00:05 because he pioneered the use of solid blocks of glass in making the sculptural artworks that you will be seeing here in the museum.
00:12 Hi, I'm Mr. Jericho Ranova and I'm a museum staff.
00:16 The Museo Olina is a contemporary arts museum established by Mr. Ramon Torolina.
00:22 His style is very unique among other glass artists because he doesn't use a rein in the making of the sculpture.
00:28 Instead he uses power tools to cut, grind, smooth and polish his sculptural works.
00:33 And about the raw material that he uses, he actually sourced those from different glass manufacturers here in abroad.
00:39 Basically these are residual glass, quite the leftover materials in the making of various glass items,
00:44 from glass panels, dishes, bottles and decorations.
00:48 So in essence, Mr. Olina is actually upcycling what seems to be waste materials to be turned into wonderful works of art.
00:55 And this museum is a testament to his successful career as a glass artist.
00:59 Now the museum has four indoor galleries, a viewing deck and a sculpture garden.
01:04 The first gallery serves like a visual timeline of his journey as an artist because the pieces are arranged into a logical order.
01:10 Now the upper gallery is like an extension of the gallery here.
01:14 He used glass using uncoated cotton crystals as well as some glass sculptures that's made from vaults, glass, stainless steel and other materials.
01:23 At the lower level of the gallery, some are changing exhibitions venues.
01:27 That's when the museum features the works of other contemporary artists.
