A 76-year-old woman pleaded not guilty to three charges of reckless and dangerous driving at a Magistrate's Court in George Town, Penang on Thursday (Jan 18).
Tan Leuk Ley claimed trial to all three charges read under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 before Magistrate Siti Nurul Suhaila Baharin.
She was released on bail at RM15,000 for all three charges with one surety.

01:14 Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Atiqah Ashraf Ali, in submitting for bail, had urged the

01:23 Meanwhile, Tan's lawyer Dev Kumar Rendran had mitigated for a lesser sum as he argued
01:29 that his client is a retired police clerk who worked for 30 years before retiring due
01:34 to having cholesteatoma requiring three surgeries.
01:38 The court then set bail at RM15,000 for all three charges, with one surety and additional
01:44 condition that the accused and her family must not disturb the victims.
01:48 The court also fixed March 8 for submissions of documents and the medical report.
