00:00:00 [HISSING]
00:00:07 Miss Karen, which one's your favorite?
00:00:09 [LAUGHTER]
00:00:10 One in the middle, right?
00:00:11 One in the middle?
00:00:12 [LAUGHTER]
00:00:13 Uh-huh.
00:00:15 Yeah.
00:00:16 Looking at it.
00:00:18 When they announced they were going to build that,
00:00:20 we thought it was going to be after all the country greats.
00:00:23 Maybe Hank Senior.
00:00:24 God rest his soul.
00:00:25 Or Orvison.
00:00:26 God rest his soul.
00:00:28 But no, our governor bought us--
00:00:31 they have what they call staff writers.
00:00:33 They sit around all day long and write country songs.
00:00:36 Y'all--
00:00:36 --a thousand years.
00:00:38 They built that to get Elvis from Memphis to Nashville.
00:00:42 And it worked.
00:00:43 He recorded over 200 songs in that very building.
00:00:47 Also, a lot of soundtracks from his 31 movies
00:00:50 were recorded right there.
00:00:52 Anybody's been-- anybody in music ever recorded RCA Studio
00:00:55 V?
00:00:56 We've had Chet Atkins.
00:00:58 God rest his soul.
00:00:59 We had the Everly Brothers.
00:01:01 God rest their souls.
00:01:02 We had Dolly Parton.
00:01:04 God rest her back.
00:01:06 [LAUGHTER]
00:01:07 A lot of history in that building.
00:01:09 Hey, y'all, what's going to be left of you now?
00:01:12 It's called Starstruck Publishing,
00:01:14 Starstruck Entertainment, and Starstruck Recording.
00:01:18 Now, this building was built back in the late '80s
00:01:20 for $3.9 million.
00:01:22 It has the most state-of-the-art recording equipment in there.
00:01:24 A helicopter landing pad on the roof.
00:01:26 Now, the girl who owns this building,
00:01:28 she's a singer-songwriter.
00:01:30 She's also an actress.
00:01:32 Little redhead girl from Oklahoma.
00:01:34 Reba.
00:01:35 Reba McIntyre.
00:01:37 Are y'all Reba fans?
00:01:39 [CHEERING]
00:01:40 Hey, whatever song real quick.
00:01:42 Bobby Nightlaw, son.
00:01:44 This right here is the oldest honky-tonk beer joint dive bar
00:01:48 in the city of Nashville.
00:01:49 It's right here off the musical area back in 1940.
00:01:52 It's still going strong to this day.
00:01:54 Now, this is where all the stars hang out.
00:01:58 They've been hanging out at this dive bar for years and years.
00:02:02 Reverse cowgirl.
00:02:04 I don't know her name.
00:02:05 Sour doll, crunchy munch, dirty Sam Sam.
00:02:08 Yep.
00:02:09 Played with Stamer, Rusty Trombone, Mott, Carl.
00:02:13 Those are yoga positions, right?
00:02:15 Yeah.
00:02:15 I thought they told us when one ended.
00:02:17 [LAUGHTER]
00:02:21 Her name was Crystal Gale.
00:02:23 That's her billion mile 30 lead-ex,
00:02:24 where she connects all her fitness and--
00:02:26 now, y'all know she's Lorena Lynn Zipper with real long hair.
00:02:31 Over here, we're going to have Curb Records.
00:02:34 This is the largest independent record label in Nashville.
00:02:38 They have signed Jodi Mocena, Natalie Grant.
00:02:40 Levi C.N. Ryan, Bob Rooney, J.J. Bitski, Larry Green,
00:02:43 G.D. Wright, Keith Holloway, Kevin Fett,
00:02:44 O.J. Givaz, and Matthew McConaughey.
00:02:46 That is owned by Mike Curb.
00:02:47 Mike Curb's lieutenant governor of California in the late '60s.
00:02:51 He said, screw you, California.
00:02:54 He came to Nashville to get in the music business.
00:02:57 It worked out well for him.
00:02:59 He owns--
00:02:59 [CHEERING]
00:03:00 Hunter H. Bentley Gilmore, Chris Stapleton, Faith Hill,
00:03:04 Sheryl Crow, and Big Smoe.
00:03:07 Yeah.
00:03:08 This was the hotel to stay in when you came to Music Row.
00:03:13 Right here behind that wooden fence
00:03:14 is a guitar-shaped swimming pool.
00:03:17 Y'all watch the show Nashville?
00:03:19 Yeah.
00:03:19 We all watch Nashville.
00:03:21 All right, if y'all ever seen a scene where they were sitting
00:03:23 around a guitar-shaped swimming pool,
00:03:25 it's supposed to be right in this backyard.
00:03:27 Now you know.
00:03:28 [INAUDIBLE]
00:03:30 Hip hop, it is phenomenal.
00:03:32 Just a swine gang.
00:03:34 There's a little girl--
00:03:35 In our neighborhood.
00:03:37 Hanging in Charlotte Johnson.
00:03:38 And she really is looking good.
00:03:40 Take it away, Hank.
00:03:41 [INAUDIBLE]
00:03:42 [LAUGHTER]
00:03:45 We had to throw in the hip hop up there on Music Row
00:03:47 because of the Cyrus's.
00:03:49 Y'all familiar?
00:03:51 What's the plural of a Cyrus?
00:03:54 Cy-ri?
00:03:56 Cy-ree?
00:03:58 Cirrhosis?
00:04:00 Henry did "Ain't You Break Your Heart"
00:04:01 and turned it into a hip hop song.
00:04:03 Y'all heard it?
00:04:04 It's awful, John.
00:04:06 That's horrible.
00:04:07 Y'all don't remember the original version of "Ain't You
00:04:09 Break Your Heart," though, do you?
00:04:11 It was recorded here in Nashville back in the '80s
00:04:13 by a guy named Billy Ray Cyrus.
00:04:15 The new hip hop version of "Ain't You Break Your Heart"
00:04:18 was also recorded here in Nashville
00:04:20 by a guy named Billy Ray Cyrus.
00:04:24 Have y'all heard the hip hop version?
00:04:26 Yeah.
00:04:27 Don't tell my heart.
00:04:28 Peeky, peeky.
00:04:29 My ain't you break your heart.
00:04:31 Peeky, peeky.
00:04:32 I just don't think it understands.
00:04:35 Yeah, boy.
00:04:37 And that's how it goes.
00:04:38 Let me give you the remix.
00:04:41 Don't tell my--
00:04:42 Peeky, peeky.
00:04:43 Don't tell my--
00:04:44 Peeky, peeky.
00:04:45 Don't, don't, don't, don't.
00:04:47 Peeky, peeky, peeky, peeky, peeky, peeky, peeky.
00:04:50 Let me give you the gangsta rap version.
00:04:52 Don't tell my heart.
00:04:53 My ain't you break your heart.
00:04:54 I just don't think it understands.
00:04:58 Let me give you the reggae version.
00:05:00 Yeah, mom.
00:05:03 That's it.
00:05:05 All right.
00:05:07 Miss Marilyn, what do you do for a living or dead?
00:05:11 Secretary.
00:05:12 Secretary at Dunder Midland.
00:05:14 Where are you from?
00:05:17 Denver.
00:05:18 Where at?
00:05:19 Vic Campbell's.
00:05:21 Vic Campbell's?
00:05:22 Venture Capital.
00:05:24 Venture Capital.
00:05:25 All right.
00:05:26 Have y'all been to the comedy club down there?
00:05:28 You been down there in Star Dome?
00:05:30 Yeah.
00:05:31 You have?
00:05:31 Been there?
00:05:32 Yeah.
00:05:32 I've been there several times.
00:05:33 Yeah, and Danny's.
00:05:34 Yeah?
00:05:35 Yeah.
00:05:35 Danny's is my home club.
00:05:37 But we went down there to Star Dome.
00:05:39 And if y'all don't know, Star Dome is actually
00:05:41 like a theater, 450 seats.
00:05:45 And I hadn't been doing comedy that long,
00:05:47 and I got invited down there.
00:05:49 And I was with Cletus T. Jillet.
00:05:52 I was his opener.
00:05:53 And I was--
00:05:54 1900.
00:05:55 Now, if you look at the windows up there,
00:05:57 you'll see some stained glass, man.
00:05:59 That's the original.
00:06:00 Tipped the stained glass they put in 123 years ago.
00:06:03 Still intact to this day.
00:06:05 This is a real nice restaurant called Stationery, man.
00:06:07 Good food, good drink.
00:06:08 It was actually built back in '86.
00:06:11 They converted it into a 124-room hotel.
00:06:14 Absolutely beautiful on the inside.
00:06:16 They're all suites.
00:06:17 And it's also haunted.
00:06:20 Ooh.
00:06:22 I was supposed to do that when I say haunted.
00:06:24 It's also haunted.
00:06:26 Ooh.
00:06:29 Oh, that's great.
00:06:30 There's a building over here, not going to have to be a ride,
00:06:33 man.
00:06:34 Check this out.
00:06:34 This is a very, very famous courthouse.
00:06:37 It's called the Estes Bufofer U.S. Federal Courthouse.
00:06:41 Now, it's so famous because this is the courthouse that Robert
00:06:44 Kennedy brought Jimmy Hoffa to come here back in the early '60s.
00:06:49 It's also the courthouse that James Earl Ray--
00:06:52 [LAUGHTER]
00:06:55 What?
00:06:56 [LAUGHTER]
00:06:59 [LAUGHTER]
00:07:02 [LAUGHTER]
00:07:05 [LAUGHTER]
00:07:08 I thought that car was going to tip over.
00:07:11 [LAUGHTER]
00:07:14 [LAUGHTER]
00:07:19 1912.
00:07:20 We've had some celebrities that went to school there.
00:07:23 Y'all remember the game show host Chuck Woolery?
00:07:26 Two to two.
00:07:27 He went to school there.
00:07:29 The Playboy pinup, Betty Page, went to school there.
00:07:32 Hey, y'all remember a girl by the name of Donna Shore?
00:07:35 Yeah.
00:07:36 She went to school there, and you can follow.
00:07:38 Hey, y'all remember a guy by the name of Frank Sutton?
00:07:41 Sutton?
00:07:42 Y'all probably know him as Sergeant Carter on "Government Policy."
00:07:46 Oh, yeah.
00:07:47 He went to East High School here in Nashville,
00:07:49 as well as Oprah Winfrey.
00:07:51 Y'all go to East High School here.
00:07:53 [LAUGHTER]
00:07:56 I'm sorry.
00:07:58 You think I was a Uber?
00:08:01 No.
00:08:02 Whoa, take it easy on my suspension.
00:08:05 [LAUGHTER]
00:08:07 First one in the race.
00:08:08 [LAUGHTER]
00:08:10 Y'all remember a guy named Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson?
00:08:16 Yeah.
00:08:17 He went to McGavock High School here in Nashville,
00:08:19 as well as Lynncliffe.
00:08:20 Y'all know a girl named Reese Witherspoon?
00:08:22 Yeah.
00:08:23 She went to Harpeth High School.
00:08:24 Y'all know a girl named Kesha?
00:08:26 Tick-tock, don't stop.
00:08:29 That's how you talk like Kesha.
00:08:31 Your lips don't touch.
00:08:33 I'm Kesha.
00:08:34 Snapchat.
00:08:35 Oh, my God.
00:08:36 Hashtag K-O-D.
00:08:38 [CHATTER]
00:09:03 [CHEERING]
00:09:06 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:09:09 She squirts all over your pillow.
00:09:18 Just don't eat the ones with corn in them.
00:09:20 They do.
00:09:21 Yeah.
00:09:22 Peanut's up to you.
00:09:24 [LAUGHTER]
00:09:26 So I guess y'all have seen the new phenomenon
00:09:29 that we call Bachelorettes.
00:09:31 Nashville is--
00:09:33 I didn't get that one out either.
00:09:35 You'll know them when you see them,
00:09:36 because they're all dressed alike.
00:09:38 They'll have something clever on their shirts.
00:09:40 Like, I'm a slut.
00:09:42 And we're the only tour bus that still
00:09:45 allows Bachelorettes to come on it.
00:09:47 The Pink Bus, the Jamboree, they don't allow them anymore.
00:09:51 Because individually, these girls are very nice people.
00:09:56 I'm sure.
00:09:57 But you get them together, three or more drinking,
00:10:00 and they can't shut up.
00:10:03 Physically can't.
00:10:04 They will ruin a tour quicker than anything.
00:10:07 Sound like a hen house in here.
00:10:09 Just [QUACKING]
00:10:11 Granny.
00:10:12 We had 19 of us one Saturday, and they all had squirt guns,
00:10:17 and they were shaped like--
00:10:19 Penises.
00:10:20 Yeah.
00:10:21 And they were squirting everybody with them.
00:10:23 I don't appreciate that.
00:10:25 I've been squirted with a penis since college.
00:10:29 I'm kidding.
00:10:31 I didn't go to college.
00:10:33 And over here we have our brand spanking new,
00:10:42 $585 million, 1.2 million square feet, Music City Center.
00:10:50 This is the third largest convention center in the country.
00:10:54 It is six city blocks big.
00:10:57 It's in the shape of a kid car, of course.
00:11:01 And it's also our greenest building.
00:11:03 It has over 200 solar panels on the roof and a special membrane
00:11:07 that gathers all the rainwater.
00:11:10 And we use that to water the plants inside and out,
00:11:13 and to flush the toilets.
00:11:15 So if we're having a big event at the Music City Center--
00:11:20 Don't be rains, right?
00:11:22 Yeah.
00:11:23 If y'all want to plan your next event at the Music City Center,
00:11:26 go ahead and get on the wait list.
00:11:28 It's seven years long.
00:11:31 Now we built this because we're making a bid for the Summer Olympics.
00:11:35 And we're signed up to it.
00:11:36 In fact, they announced about three weeks ago,
00:11:39 we're now shooting for 2086.
00:11:44 You don't have tickets today if y'all want to buy them.
00:11:47 Yeah, I've got four left.
00:11:48 We're going to get them going quick this week, too.
00:11:50 We're still doing a coronavirus special.
00:11:55 Extended.
00:11:58 You know whenever all this was supposed to last two weeks
00:12:00 and we could flatten the curve?
00:12:02 Remember that?
00:12:03 That's what Dr. Pucci said.
00:12:05 And here we are three years later.
00:12:07 We keep extending it and extending it and extending it.
00:12:10 Kind of like a mattress store sale.
00:12:12 We've been going out of business from 2020 and 2021.
00:12:16 2022, we thought, was going to be our big comeback year,
00:12:19 and gas prices went through the roof.
00:12:21 And y'all didn't come see us last year either.
00:12:23 But I always said, if I won the lottery,
00:12:25 I'd never work another day of my life.
00:12:27 But through all this, I realized I have to work.
00:12:30 I have to have obligations.
00:12:32 I've got to have places to be.
00:12:34 My drinking went up 300% during all this.
00:12:38 Anybody else?
00:12:40 I was going to Walmart three times a week just to see people.
00:12:43 You know?
00:12:44 I was licking door handles.
00:12:48 High-fiving Asians.
00:12:50 I didn't care.
00:12:57 Oh, hey.
00:12:58 Maybe you can get in a picture together after this tour.
00:13:01 It's going to be my Christmas card.
00:13:05 Man, Mr. Naga.
00:13:08 But here, guys, we've got the Bridgestone Arena,
00:13:11 home to the Nashville Predators.
00:13:16 Bridgestone Arena is the number one ticket-selling venue
00:13:20 in the United States.
00:13:22 They just took over Madison Square Garden.
00:13:24 This is where we have the big, huge concerts.
00:13:27 Kenny Chesney kicked off one of his world tours here.
00:13:30 We asked Shania Twain to have Kelly Clarkson all here
00:13:33 within a week of each other.
00:13:35 Hey, check this out.
00:13:37 Broadway.
00:13:38 Y'all see that red thing way in there?
00:13:40 That's a roller coaster we never finished.
00:13:44 Bill's got tickets if y'all want to ride on.
00:13:47 Hey, I got four left.
00:13:48 Forget about Kenny.
00:13:49 Going quick this week, too.
00:13:50 We're doing a coronavirus special.
00:13:54 The Ryman Auditorium, the mother church of country music.
00:13:59 That dick does not look happy.
00:14:07 He got fired from his kitchen job, didn't he?
00:14:11 The acoustics in there.
00:14:13 Ryman was home to the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974.
00:14:18 Then they moved it over to the big Opry house
00:14:20 where it is today.
00:14:21 But the acoustics in the Ryman are perfect.
00:14:24 They're absolutely perfect.
00:14:26 They're only second to the Mormon Tabernacle in the world.
00:14:30 That Opry house in Sydney, Australia?
00:14:33 Ryman beats it.
00:14:34 Carnegie Hall in New York?
00:14:36 Ryman beats it.
00:14:37 That Taj Mahal in India?
00:14:39 I don't know.
00:14:40 Do they do concerts at the Taj Mahal?
00:14:42 I think Guns and Roses sold it out.
00:14:45 You can whisper on center stage at the Ryman,
00:14:48 and they can hear it in the very last few.
00:14:50 Or you can do like Richard Nixon.
00:14:53 Richard Nixon was last president to stay on the stage
00:14:55 of the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman.
00:14:57 Him and Roy Acob were big yo-yo fanatics.
00:15:00 In the middle of Nixon doing one of his yo-yo tricks,
00:15:03 he farted.
00:15:05 And the acoustics are so fine in the Ryman,
00:15:08 everybody heard it.
00:15:10 And the crew's up there.
00:15:14 Secret Service is like, "What was that?"
00:15:21 They moved the Grand Ole Opry.
00:15:22 They cut out a six-foot section out of the stage of the Ryman,
00:15:25 and they boarded it up to set it up to be the Monk.
00:15:28 Did I just explain that right?
00:15:31 The center stage at the new Opry house.
00:15:37 We'll start that story over.
00:15:39 I'll do this, and then we'll try again.
00:15:42 Since y'all have a redneck margarita,
00:15:44 if y'all want to do a bourbon tasting, check this out.
00:15:48 Look to your left.
00:15:49 I'll stand in the booth.
00:15:51 I'm talking about top shelf, EH Taylor, Eagle Rare,
00:15:54 all the Weller's, Blanton's, Stagg Jr.,
00:15:56 Kentucky Opera, Kentucky Park, Boss Hog Whistle,
00:15:59 18-year-old, you can go on and on.
00:16:01 But since y'all vacationed, you can splurge for one drink
00:16:04 or get you a smoked Old Fashioned made with 15-year-olds,
00:16:08 20-year-olds, or 25-year-olds.
00:16:11 Happy Van Winkle.
00:16:14 Oh, yeah.
00:16:16 [music]
00:16:19 Welcome back to Nashville, everyone.
00:16:21 Finally tonight, many a young musician has traveled to Nashville
00:16:24 with a few dollars in their pocket, a guitar in hand,
00:16:28 and dreams of standing on this very stage at the Ryman Auditorium.
00:16:32 After all, stars from Elvis to Johnny Cash to Duke Ellington
00:16:36 played here.
00:16:38 [music]
00:16:41 Music is the soul of this city, from Broadway to the back alleys
00:16:45 and beyond.
00:16:47 Now that's the Mother Church right there.
00:16:49 And if these walls could talk, they'd probably sing an anthem
00:16:53 to music history.
00:16:55 This building has been and continues to be the gathering place of the city.
00:16:58 The Ryman Auditorium was built in 1892 as a place of worship.
00:17:02 [music]
00:17:05 Since then, it's evolved into the Mother Church of country music
00:17:09 and much more.
00:17:11 You name it, we've had it.
00:17:13 Comedy, gospel, blues, rock and roll.
00:17:16 Jazz greats and rock and roll legends performed here.
00:17:19 Presidents attended events.
00:17:21 And those who have taken this stage say there's no other experience
00:17:25 quite like it.
00:17:27 1999, 2000 was the first time I ever walked out on that stage.
00:17:30 And it's--you're hit with the gravity of it.
00:17:34 In 1943, its most famous act arrived, the Grand Old Opry,
00:17:39 the show's home until 1974.
00:17:42 [music]
00:17:45 Stars like Dolly Parton and Charlie Pride made their Opry debuts
00:17:49 [music]
00:17:52 right here on this stage.
00:17:54 Johnny Cash!
00:17:55 Carried into living rooms, the Opry show became America's longest
00:17:59 running radio program, helping cement Nashville's reputation
00:18:03 as Music City.
00:18:05 [music]
00:18:07 Where we're standing is the most historical stage in country music.
00:18:11 I met up with country music star Michael Ray.
00:18:14 Do you remember the first time that you played in this auditorium?
00:18:17 I do, yeah, you never forget it.
00:18:19 You feel that energy from the men and women that made this room
00:18:21 what it was back in the day.
00:18:23 And then, grabbing our instruments, I got to experience my own
00:18:26 Ryman moment.
00:18:28 [music]
00:18:38 Yeah, man.
00:18:39 All right, man.
00:18:40 That was great, man.
00:18:41 Good stuff, man, good stuff.
00:18:42 And Michael is right, nothing like playing this stage.
00:18:45 There you go.
00:18:46 All right.
00:18:47 Well, I want to try this story again.
00:18:50 The Ryman, it generated interest in the Ryman again,
00:18:53 and $8 million later, we reopened it.
00:18:57 And as a part of that, $8 million went to fix this giant hole in the stage
00:19:02 because the new Opry House wouldn't give it back.
00:19:04 In the 2010 floods, the new Opry House got flooded.
00:19:08 The stage was four feet underwater for a week before they could get it
00:19:12 drained out.
00:19:13 When they did finally get the water drained out, the stage was ruined.
00:19:16 The wood had already started to turn and buckle, and they couldn't salvage it
00:19:20 except the center stage was still perfect.
00:19:24 All they had to do was wipe off the mud.
00:19:26 It's magic wood.
00:19:28 Actually, I think it's just where Hank Sr. vomited on it one night.
00:19:34 Or this Hank.
00:19:35 You know how come the wood never buckled or anything?
00:19:39 Because it's made out of tulip poplar.
00:19:41 What does that mean?
00:19:42 Which is our state tree.
00:19:44 What does that mean?
00:19:45 It means that's what the circle's made out of, tulip poplar.
00:19:48 Oh, it didn't buckle?
00:19:50 That wood doesn't buckle.
00:19:51 It's strong wood.
00:19:55 There you go.
00:19:57 Hermitage Hotel was built in 1910, and they spared no expense building it.
00:20:02 It was the first million-dollar building in Nashville.
00:20:06 For the past 120 years, this has been Tennessee's only five-star hotel.
00:20:13 It's beautiful on the inside.
00:20:16 And for the last 20 years in a row, this is crazy, they've been voted
00:20:21 best bathroom in America.
00:20:24 It's the men's.
00:20:26 Yeah.
00:20:27 Guys, you can take the girls in there.
00:20:29 There's a plaque outside the door that says women can't help but take a pee in this bathroom.
00:20:34 It's all Art Deco.
00:20:36 I don't know what that is.
00:20:37 But I did go in there, and there is a shoe shine station in the men's bathroom.
00:20:42 I guess that's how rich people do it.
00:20:44 You know, you go in there and take a little dump, get splatter on your boots,
00:20:48 and you go in there and he wipes it off.
00:20:52 Here we got our Tennessee State Capitol building.
00:20:55 Our State Capitol building is only one of ten in the United States.
00:20:59 It doesn't have a dome.
00:21:01 We have a coppola up there.
00:21:03 Coupola.
00:21:04 We got a chicken shack.
00:21:07 That's where the bachelorettes go at night to perch and sleep.
00:21:11 They're up there.
00:21:13 Some of them hang upside down.
00:21:16 What is this guy? Is he posing for something?
00:21:19 Did you see? He's just up there like that.
00:21:22 I know you're just looking right here, and you're right, man.
00:21:24 Check this out.
00:21:25 That's our War Memorial building.
00:21:26 It was built back in 1925 as a concert venue to honor all the Tennessee veterans
00:21:31 who fought in the First World War.
00:21:33 In fact, this building right here was actually the fourth home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1939 to 1943.
00:21:40 Then in 1943, y'all, where did the Opry move to?
00:21:45 The Ryman Auditorium.
00:21:47 Now, the acoustics of this building here are just like the Ryman, man, super fine.
00:21:52 That's why in this state, you have a lot of concerts here.
00:21:55 A lot of you tourists will come up here and look at the building,
00:21:58 and we'll see a couple of days later, and they'll tell,
00:22:00 "Man, we couldn't have lived in a building if we could not pick out the same raw live,
00:22:03 which was the front of the building, which was the rear of the building,
00:22:06 because they lived just alike, with the beautiful Greek architecture and so forth."
00:22:10 So Jim and I did some research, y'all.
00:22:12 After about five redneck barbaritas, we both came to the conclusion over here to your right
00:22:19 was actually the rear of the building.
00:22:22 And how we found that out, if you look at this film, it's very well,
00:22:26 we'll see if we're right or not, but it's the rear of the building.
00:22:29 [laughter]
00:22:35 See it, Hank? You see it?
00:22:39 So this is our war memorial. Do we have any veterans on the bus?
00:22:42 Anybody, sir? No?
00:22:45 Okay.
00:22:47 Over here in front of us, Gil's telling about that.
00:22:51 If you look to your left, ten quarters to your left, that far building down there,
00:22:55 that's our former State Library and Archives Building.
00:22:58 We have a brand new one now. For years, that was the State Library and Archives Building.
00:23:02 That's where Alex Haley got most of his research to write the book "Roots."
00:23:09 Now, over here on the corner to your left is our Tennessee Supreme Court Building,
00:23:13 where Jim was going to trial on July 14th.
00:23:17 Yeah. I'm looking forward to it.
00:23:20 I'm going to get me some of that Camp Lejeune drinking water money.
00:23:25 I wasn't in the Marines, but Morgan & Morgan said my case was pretty strong.
00:23:32 Everybody's getting that Camp Lejeune money, ain't they?
00:23:37 So over here, our Tennessee State Capitol Building again.
00:23:40 Our State Capitol Building is one of the oldest State Capitol Buildings still in use today.
00:23:45 It was built and designed by the architect William Strickland out of Philadelphia.
00:23:50 He also helped design Independence Hall and the U.S. Capitol Building,
00:23:55 but he said that one was his crown jewel, so much so he's buried in the walls.
00:24:01 It took him 14 years to build our State Capitol Building.
00:24:05 It's made completely of limestone.
00:24:07 The interior walls, the ceiling, the windows, the carpet, everything, limestone.
00:24:16 And also the statue of Andrew Jackson up there.
00:24:24 Once upon a time, we had the world's largest gas chandelier in there,
00:24:29 and once a month they would light it up at night,
00:24:32 and people from all around would come and set up little blankets and stuff
00:24:36 and bask in the glow of our Capitol Building.
00:24:38 It was something they'd never seen before.
00:24:41 Hey, look over to your left. Check this statue out.
00:24:43 That's a statue right there, son of Sergeant Alvin C. York.
00:24:48 Have you ever heard of him?
00:24:50 He was our World War I hero.
00:24:53 He was from Fentress County, Tennessee, to Paul Mall,
00:24:56 which is only about 120 miles east of Nashville.
00:24:58 But they say he captured 133 Germans single-handed without firing one shot.
00:25:05 Have any of y'all ever seen the movie "Sergeant York"?
00:25:10 Any of y'all remember who played him in that movie?
00:25:13 Won an Academy Award in 1952.
00:25:19 Gary Cooper.
00:25:23 [laughter]
00:25:25 Gary Cooper.
00:25:26 Gary Cooper.
00:25:28 Any of y'all remember what he did to distract those Germans?
00:25:30 He did a certain type of a call.
00:25:33 Turkey call.
00:25:34 He did a turkey call.
00:25:36 Evidently, they don't have turkeys over in Germany.
00:25:39 He did a little gobble-gobble over here, distract them, snatch them up.
00:25:44 He caught 132 doing that.
00:25:47 How embarrassing must that have been?
00:25:50 All those Germans in the same jail cell, just, "Oh, how did you get captured?"
00:25:56 Is that a good German accent?
00:25:58 Yeah.
00:25:59 "How did you get captured?
00:26:01 Would you like to ride in Mama's little van?
00:26:04 Would you like some sauerkraut?
00:26:06 Would you like to see my winged snot?
00:26:10 Turkey gobble.
00:26:11 And look here now.
00:26:12 This is off the beaten path.
00:26:13 A lot of people don't even know about it, but we highly recommend it.
00:26:15 Look over to your right, man.
00:26:16 You've got to go to the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum, man.
00:26:20 It's an awesome place.
00:26:21 It's all genres of music.
00:26:23 I just heard music, everything.
00:26:25 All cities.
00:26:26 Yeah.
00:26:27 There's an exhibit of Jimi Hendrix in there, one of the Rolling Stones.
00:26:31 They just put up an exhibit of Jeff Cook, one of the guys from Alabama
00:26:35 who passed away about six, seven months ago.
00:26:38 And they have--what's his name?
00:26:44 Brad Paisley.
00:26:45 No.
00:26:49 Somebody's Paisley guitar.
00:26:50 Yeah, so Pete Paisley's--
00:26:53 Jeff Cook.
00:26:54 No.
00:26:55 Stephen Hall.
00:26:57 Oh, God.
00:26:58 I swear, man, I can't--
00:27:01 Elvis is a guitar player.
00:27:03 James Burton.
00:27:04 James Burton.
00:27:05 He had his Pete Paisley Stratocaster guitars in there.
00:27:12 Fender Stratocaster.
00:27:14 Fender.
00:27:15 Yeah.
00:27:16 Not Gibson.
00:27:17 No, Fender.
00:27:18 I'm sorry.
00:27:19 Pete Paisley.
00:27:20 Pete Paisley's Stratocaster guitars.
00:27:24 When the building was under construction, there was a guy that mowed the construction worker.
00:27:29 When they were building the building, man, this guy was hiding all kinds of guns, ammunition, knives,
00:27:34 handcuffs, keys, all throughout the building and the walls.
00:27:38 When the building was completed in 2019, they found out about it and it was already built.
00:27:45 So they apprehended the guy.
00:27:47 In fact, I got four years in jail.
00:27:49 They play the TV on every hour in that building, every single day with the X-ray machine,
00:27:52 X-ray machines, and they still find him.
00:27:58 They sure do, Jim.
00:28:00 Yeah.
00:28:01 They sure do.
00:28:03 Formerly L.P. Field.
00:28:06 It was formerly a Sylphia.
00:28:09 It was formerly the Coliseum.
00:28:11 Home of the Monster Jam.
00:28:15 Monster Jam.
00:28:16 Monster Jam.
00:28:17 Monster Jam's coming here.
00:28:20 Yeah.
00:28:21 It's on a Sunday.
00:28:22 Sunday.
00:28:23 I don't know what he's doing.
00:28:27 Medical.
00:28:29 How do you spell hemorrhoid?
00:28:32 They throw another H in there for no reason.
00:28:35 It's hemorrhoids.
00:28:37 What's your name, sir?
00:28:39 Scott.
00:28:40 Scott.
00:28:41 Y'all are married, Scott?
00:28:42 Yep.
00:28:43 How long, Scott?
00:28:44 Six months.
00:28:45 Six months?
00:28:46 Y'all are still in the early weds.
00:28:48 How long did y'all date?
00:28:51 A couple of years.
00:28:52 A couple of years?
00:28:53 Where'd y'all meet at, Scott?
00:28:55 At the lake.
00:28:57 At the lake?
00:28:58 Alright.
00:28:59 Did y'all meet at the lake?
00:29:01 No.
00:29:02 That's all.
00:29:03 It was the first tour.
00:29:04 Okay.
00:29:05 With the bears?
00:29:07 Yeah.
00:29:08 Did you see them sea bears?
00:29:09 Yeah.
00:29:10 At Destin?
00:29:11 Hank, did you know that?
00:29:12 No.
00:29:13 Did we talk about that already?
00:29:14 Yes.
00:29:15 Oh.
00:29:16 I'm so excited.

01:05:30 It's a passion wave, pummeling away
01:05:34 I, your source of self destruction
01:05:38 Seize upon fear, sucking darkness clear
01:05:42 Leading on your death's construction
01:05:46 They say you won't see, but it's all you need
01:05:50 Dedicated to, how I'm killing you
01:05:56 Crawling faster
01:06:02 I'll be your master
01:06:06 Your life burns faster
01:06:11 I'll be your master, master
01:06:15 Master of the world, yeah
01:06:19 Twisting your mind, slicing the strings
01:06:22 Look at me, you can't see the pain

01:06:28 Master, master
01:06:30 Just so my name comes out the strings
01:06:33 Master, master
