00:00 "A rare white penguin has been spotted waddling around Chilean Antarctica.
00:05 Gen-2 penguins usually have black feathers, a bright orange bill and white eye patches.
00:10 But this female bird is almost completely white due to leucism, a rare genetic condition.
00:16 Scientists say the condition makes animals that have it more vulnerable to predators."
00:20 "In this case, being an animal that has mostly a white body, it can help a predator to hunt
00:27 it more easily. That's why leucism cases are very rare.
00:32 Because in addition to being recessive genes that are expressed little, they are also animals
00:35 that are very exposed, in the case of penguins, to being eaten by a predator more easily."
