00:09 Long, long ago, in a faraway land, there lived an old man and an old woman.
00:19 Having no children of their own, they instead cared for a small, timid Pokémon named Pechorunt, and they loved it dearly.
00:29 Pechorunt, seeking more of their affection, used the poison in its body to fashion special mochi, binding mochi, which it served to them.
00:38 The couple was immediately enthralled by the flavor of these delectable mochi.
00:44 Or rather, put under the thrall of Pechorunt.
00:49 These binding mochi seemed to draw out the greed of anyone who ate them.
00:54 Before long, the couple began hounding Pechorunt with requests for this, that, and every other little thing.

01:06 So it used more binding mochi to tame a Pokémon, and had it deliver the gifts to the couple the next morning.

01:18 Then, one day, the old couple requested something peculiar.
01:24 A brilliant set of masks which were rumored to exist in the land of Kitakami.
01:29 Pechorunt, who had long grown tired of the same old requests, set off excitedly for the land of Kitakami, eager to retrieve the masks and grant the couple's wish.
01:40 Every adventurer needs companions.
01:44 So Pechorunt left the village with Okidoki, the retainer it had tamed with the power of its poison.
01:51 But one companion wasn't enough.
01:54 On the road, the two met Monkeydory.
01:58 This Pokémon had the power to see into the near future.
02:05 It simply had to be made a retainer.
02:09 Yet Pechorunt still worried, so it found a third companion, Pheasantipidae, which could expel mesmerizing pheromones.
02:18 Only then did Pechorunt feel safe.
02:21 Thus did their journey finally begin.
02:25 They crossed fields, mountains, and seas until Pechorunt and its retainers arrived in the land of Kitakami.
02:38 Amid the sound of festive drums and flutes standing amongst the merry revelers, they saw two figures donning glittering masks, Ogrepon and its human partner.
02:52 Pechorunt proceeded with caution.
02:55 First, it had Monkeydory track down where the two lived.
02:59 Then, while Ogrepon and the man were away, it had Okidoki and Pheasantipidae sneak into the den to quietly steal the masks.
03:09 Just as they were about to return to Pechorunt, the man appeared.
03:14 He rushed at the intruders, who had no choice but to fight back.
03:18 But the man could only muster the strength to protect a single mask.
03:25 And the thieving Pokémon made off with the remaining three in hand.
03:31 At last, the glittering masks belonged to Pechorunt.
03:35 "Now they'll love me even more," it thought.
03:39 But its joy was fleeting.
03:45 For the enraged Ogrepon was upon them.
03:49 Panicked, Pechorunt ordered its retainers to stand in its defense.
03:54 Pheasantipidae deployed its beguiling pheromones.
03:57 Monkeydory used its foresight to predict Ogrepon's attacks.
04:01 And Okidoki tried to finish the fight with its raw might.
04:05 But none of them could stop Ogrepon's terrifying advance.
04:13 As Ogrepon drew near, Pechorunt trembled.
04:17 It knew its fate was sealed.
04:21 The masks, its companions, its happy life.
04:27 Pechorunt had lost them all.
04:31 As it was sent careening through the air, it mustered the last of its strength to withdraw into its shell.
04:39 On and on it rolled, until it finally came to a rest somewhere in the forest.
