00:08 where voters have just cast their first ballots

00:11 for the 2024 Republican nominee.

00:13 Voters braved treacherous conditions across the state

00:16 as they trekked through snow and ice

00:18 to cast their ballots today in schools,

00:20 gymnasiums, and churches across the state.

00:23 In a shock to no one,

00:24 Donald Trump came out on top tonight.

00:26 He won a landslide victory,

00:28 setting a record with his margin of victory

00:30 that was more than 30 percentage points.

00:32 Well, I want to thank everybody.

00:33 This has been some period of time,

00:35 and most importantly,

00:37 we want to thank the great people of Iowa.

00:42 The real battle on Monday was for second place,

00:45 where Ron DeSantis came out just ahead of Nikki Haley.

00:57 that he had earned a ticket to stay in the race

00:59 with a second-place finish.
