China opposes US-Taiwan exchange as unofficial US delegation to the island planned after election

China on Thursday reiterated its opposition to the U.S.-Taiwan official exchange following the reported plan of the Biden administration to send a delegation comprised of former senior officials to Taiwan shortly after its presidential election this weekend.

00:19 and to refrain from entering the Taiwan region in any form to avoid serious damage to Sino-US relations and the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait.

00:31 and is the first unavoidable red line in Sino-US relations.
00:34 We urge the United States to abide by the "one China" principle and the rules of the three joint communiques between China and the United States,

00:46 and to stop sending any wrong signals to the separatist forces in Taiwan.
