00:00 Glasgow World today has managed to take our first journey on the new Glasgow subways.
00:06 These are the first new trains that Glaswegians will have seen in over 43 years.
00:11 You might be lucky enough to hop on one of these trains.
00:14 At some point they are strictly running on the outer circle just now.
00:18 But keep your eye out, more trains will be coming in 2024
00:22 and you can take a ride on the new Glasgow subway.
00:25 As you can see here we've got a new digital map.
00:27 There's space here for wheelchairs and luggage etc.
00:30 There's no flip down seats.
00:32 In this bit here, this is the driver's booth.
00:35 Once all the trains become driverless, this screen will get taken away
00:40 and passengers will be able to see straight through out the window.
00:46 You can obviously see as well on the subway,
00:47 you won't need to worry about whatever carriage you can get on as you can walk
00:51 the full length of the trains now.
00:53 Meaning if you're going to work in the morning or heading home and it's a bit busy,
00:56 you can jump on any carriage and you can walk right through.
00:59 [sound of train passing]
