00:00 Meantime, recovery continues across the South after yesterday's severe weather outbreak.
00:04 In Florida, officials are assessing the damage from tornadoes in several communities, including
00:09 Panama City and Mariana.
00:12 Bay County officials say about 100 people were displaced and issued a 9 p.m. curfew.
00:18 Homes and an RV park were destroyed in Mariana, still working to recover from Hurricane Michael
00:23 back in 2018.
00:25 Over the past two days, there were 27 tornado reports spanning seven southern states, and
00:31 at least four people were killed in Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina.
00:35 The threat for severe storms continues to the South tomorrow.
00:38 For the latest on that, here's Michelle McLeod.
00:40 Boy, it's been busy, Michelle.
00:42 You've got the tornado -- confirmed tornadoes over the last couple of days, and some of
00:47 these same areas could be looking for another round later in the week.
00:51 Twelve confirmed tornadoes, Kevin.
00:53 Now, we've got six at EF1, four at EF2.
00:58 Here's the thing.
00:59 You've got two that are unrated.
01:00 NWS in Tallahassee is doing their surveys tonight for Florida, and then tomorrow they'll
01:05 be doing their surveys for Georgia and Alabama.
01:08 So we'll keep on that, and when we get those updated totals, you'll be the first to know.
01:14 Now, we're going to see more of these storms as we continue Thursday night into Friday.
01:19 I just wanted to show you the whole thing, and we're going to break it down for you,
01:23 and if I have enough time, I'll show it to you hour by hour.
01:25 Main threats are going to be tornadoes, flooding, downpours, hail with localized damaging wind
01:30 gusts, actual weather, local storm acts of 80 miles an hour.
01:34 Do you see this black dotted line?
01:36 This is going to be what splits Thursday night from Friday.
01:40 And you'll notice Friday, you've got that orange signifying that you've got more numerous
01:44 storms instead of just yellow with it being isolated.
01:48 So I'm going to break it down for you.
01:50 On Thursday, do you see in Texas, like near Lubbock, where that line is?
01:54 That's where the front's going to start, and then that's going to continue to make its
01:57 way farther east by Friday.
01:59 We'll show you what that cold front looks like.
02:01 Do you see that?
02:02 So the storms are going to be around and ahead of this cold front, and those storms are going
02:06 to pack a punch.
02:07 Let me show you what things are going to look like.
02:09 We're going to start the clock on Thursday night at 8 p.m.
02:14 Pay attention to those storms making their way now into the Arklatex.
02:18 Now do you see that line just west of Lufkin?
02:22 Look what happens.
02:23 Boom goes the dynamite as you head into the overnight hours.
02:27 So the problem with Thursday night is that you've got the potential for nocturnal tornadoes.
02:32 And the problem with that is you can't see them coming, so I want you to have that AccuWeather
02:35 app downloaded ASAP and have the push notifications turned on so that you can be alerted if you're
02:41 in the path of severe weather.
