00:00 The future of science for me is so broad. It can go anywhere at any time. You never
00:08 know what to expect. In schools, just recently AI has become a big thing, but also you never
00:15 know what's around the corner, especially women in STEM.
00:18 I think I'm most excited about the future of healthcare in Australia, especially how
00:22 technology can help us reach those very rural areas and regional, coming from regional space
00:28 myself, but I've been very fortunate, so hopefully everyone gets to experience that as well.
00:33 In science, I'm really interested in the cyberspace, so that's like sitting at a computer and whether
00:40 that's the hardware or software side. The next generation of AI is going to be multimodal,
00:45 so that's like using language, video, pictures, and being able to combine all of those and
00:52 have one model of AI that can switch between the two and be able to understand all of them.
00:58 Especially here in Australia, there's so much space for innovation, and I'm just so excited
01:03 to potentially be a part of that. Yeah, and just kind of where we go from there, especially
01:09 within medicine, because that's my preferred discipline.
01:17 The thing that worries me is probably finding where I fit into it. I think science will
01:23 definitely be very strong in the future, so it's just finding where I can be the most
01:27 helpful to Australia and the world. Honestly, the unknown, because you don't know
01:33 what to expect, you never know if AI could take over the job or it could allow for new
01:40 jobs to exist. I'm really worried that, which is why I kind
01:43 of want to go into AI, that uni degrees, specific ones, not necessarily arts, but a uni degree
01:52 could be nullified by an AI comes in to do the work. I really want to at least have a
01:58 part in it, especially the ethical stuff around that, like what should we use AI for, how
02:05 much control can AI have. To other places, especially around the world,
02:09 who don't have the opportunities that we have, just hope that they don't get left behind
02:16 in a way, and I hope that we can help them as much as we can help ourselves in science.
