00:00 Here is your guide to Glasgow's West End this Veganuary.
00:03 So starting on Great Western Road, which happens to be the city's longest and straightest road.
00:07 Firstly, we have Roots and Fruits.
00:09 Now it's not strictly plant-based, but it does specialise.
00:11 Here you can get pre-made salads, samosas, soups, coffee.
00:15 They also have lots of vegan sweet treats, as well as shelves and fridges full of ingredients such as tofu, tempeh and cheese.
00:20 Next, moving to Buyers Road, there's Hillhead Book Club, who have an extensive range of vegan food.
00:25 They also do Meat Free Mondays, where there is 30% off all plant-based dishes.
00:29 Then there's Cafe Swiss, who have two options for vegan milkshakes.
00:33 Then across the road, there's Juicy.
00:34 They have plenty of plant-based smoothies, juices and food options on their menu,
00:38 and plenty of vegan cakes in their bakery section.
00:40 Now you've probably heard of Holland & Barrett, a high street staple since 1870.
00:44 Well, it's a goldmine for vegan products.
00:46 This is where you can get ingredients for cooking and baking.
00:49 There's a varied range of snacks and chilled products.
00:51 They also have a broad range of alternative milks, which I encourage you to try out.
00:55 Further along the street, down Ruffin Lane, there's both the Hanoi Bike Shop and Chacu,
00:59 a Vietnamese restaurant and Indian restaurant respectively, each with fantastic plant-based options.
01:04 Then we have the Santa Lucia Deli, renowned for its Italian sandwiches.
01:07 Now they do have a vegan option with a grilled aubergine base. It is delicious.
01:11 There's Sista Pasta Restaurant, down the street, also has plant-based alternatives.
01:14 Then there's Ram and Dial, with restaurants situated in Finiston and Ashton Lane.
01:18 They have plenty of options and cater to all dietary requirements.
01:21 I highly recommend the vegan devil.
