00:00 So my name is Bianca and I work for The Chambers Restaurant. I do their social
00:06 media and I work front of house as well. It's absolutely fantastic. The Chambers is a
00:12 very unique restaurant within itself. You know you walk past and you assume it's
00:18 just one room within itself. However we have a whole lot more going on here. We
00:25 have event space in the back, we have two dining areas just above us and we have a
00:31 rooftop terrace. So it's a lot bigger than what the eye sees from walking by.
00:36 The Chambers is family run. It's been in the family for about 12 years and it
00:43 used to be an accountant actually before and the accountants have just moved
00:47 across so it's quite handy they still pop into us and see us every now and
00:51 then. We offer such a unique dining experience. You know we are very
00:56 competitive within our price compared to some of the other restaurants around and
01:01 all of our product is locally sourced so it all comes in fresh to us. We use local
01:08 butchers, our fish comes locally as well which is fantastic. I mean there's not
01:13 many places that stick with the area you know and that's how it should be. We
01:19 should be supporting everyone within Portsmouth and not reaching too far out.
01:23 So it's definitely one of the unique things about us. We offer absolutely
01:30 amazing cocktails and they get changed every few months which is fantastic.
01:35 Again they are made fresh here from us and one of the people that work here
01:41 actually she helps design some of the cocktails so she'll create some just
01:45 unique which you won't find anywhere else. So the clients that come through we
01:51 get so many regulars and we're very lucky with that. I like having regular
01:55 people. You build a relationship and a connection with them and it's it's more
02:00 than just a dining experience. It's genuine you know we don't know what
02:04 people are escaping and why they're coming to see us but when they come and
02:07 see us we know that we're going to brighten their day a little bit and that
02:11 makes all the difference. When you're going out somewhere you want to feel
02:14 comfortable and you want to feel happy where you are and that's what we offer
02:18 people to feel comfortable, happy and relaxed whilst they're enjoying
02:22 themselves. Excellent so what would you say are the most popular dishes? Well
02:29 that is a hard one to be honest with you because I'd say all of them but for our
02:33 starters I would actually say the scallops. Again they're fresh, they're
02:38 bought in locally sourced and we have never ever had any problems with them so
02:43 they are fantastic. Pork belly slices on the starters, very very yummy, highly
02:50 recommend. On our mains you can't beat the fillet steak, you really can't. You
02:57 know we get it locally sourced again and I've worked for other steak houses and
03:05 in comparison to some big steak houses it's very very good. That would be my
03:12 favourite. And finally so what should people look out for in 24? So this is
03:18 going over across from food as well as events. Absolutely so we host all
03:24 events here. We have Burns Night coming up very soon and we have Valentine's
03:30 just after that, Mother's Day and we also have obviously our private function
03:37 rooms as well so we would have them going on. We do have a new menu coming as
03:42 well that's coming very soon, a la carte and we have a change of cocktail menu
03:48 coming up as well. So there are some really big changes happening. We're
03:51 looking at changing some of the decor within the restaurant as well so that
03:55 would be something to keep the eyes peeled on. Keeping their heads though. Of
03:58 course, of course. I mean we've made them and everything, they're part of the
04:02 family here now. So I mean going on that as even the last question so obviously
04:08 it's a quite a head-turner. It is. Tell us about the kind of the decor, the inspiration behind it. So I knew this would be brought up
04:15 absolutely and do you know what this is one of the things that made me fall in
04:19 love with the Chambers. Where in Portsmouth are you going to find another place that
04:23 is like this? You really are and you know it's so unique and so quirky. Some
04:29 people call it a man cave but I'm not a man and I love it here so no I wouldn't
04:34 assume it like that. I love all the different little bits and bobs here and
04:39 most of them are antiques you know and they're things that the owner himself has
04:43 gone out and found and that's what makes them extra special. It's like a piece of
04:48 him bringing it here.
