00:03 You mentioned Birdie Fest, this tournament has, you better go low.
00:07 Whoever the winner is, is going to go low here at this tournament.
00:11 But now the PGA talking about obviously bigger purses, shorter fields.
00:16 Which means that the top half of the board, the favorites are really short.
00:22 How are we approaching this tournament and tournaments moving forward when
00:27 the Scotty Sheffles of the world are going to be 5-1, 6-1 in every tournament?
00:31 It's almost unbettable with the top of the board, isn't it?
00:33 >> Well, you go back a month to the Hero World Championship,
00:38 where you have guys coming in at 5-1 and it's a limited field of 20 guys.
00:42 Yes, these are some absolutely some champagne problems that we have in
00:45 betting golf for sure.
00:46 Luckily, no Rory this week, but we do have Victor.
00:50 And of course, we do have Scotty, Scotty coming in at around 6-1, Victor 9-1.
00:55 Neither one of which I wanna bet this week, but
00:57 there are other things you could do in the prop market to kind of compound your
01:01 interest, Joe.
01:02 So if you take Scotty at let's say 6-1, but you also take him to be low American,
01:06 and he's 5-1 at that, or to 1 at that, you know what?
01:10 You can get yourself a nice little payday,
01:11 maybe around 10-1 if you wanna go the favorite route.
01:14 For me, I'm gonna try to find value in that 20 range, and
01:18 I know that it's there in this marketplace.
01:20 Maybe because it's a little bit of a limited field,
01:23 we might have to go into the teens.
01:24 But in those 20s and low 30s, there's some players that can win this tournament.
01:28 >> Fantastic, and by the way, Keith, if we take a look at this tournament here,
01:32 cuz again, the warm weather, it's almost like the kickoff to the 2024 season.
01:35 Can't start any better than saying, hey guys,
01:37 why don't you gather in Hawaii, let's have some fun.
01:40 Can you tell us a little bit of how this course sets up, and
01:43 maybe some of the golfers that can take advantage of the setup on this golf course?
01:46 >> I'll tell you what, this is a really, really fun start to the year,
01:50 not just for the players, but for the viewers.
01:53 The East Coast, we're gonna get it in prime time, we're six hours ahead.
01:56 We're gonna get it after your day is over, and you're gonna see a par 73,
02:00 which is a unique scorecard, 11 par 4s, 3 par 3s, and 4 par 5s.
02:06 Tons and tons of birdies all over this place.
02:08 It says that it's the third longest course at 7,500 plus, but
02:12 it's not gonna play that long.
02:14 Elevation changes, you go from the second green up to
02:19 the 17th tee box is almost a change of 400 feet in elevation,
02:23 even though this is right there on the north coast of Maui.
02:26 It's really a fun golf course, wide open fairways.
02:30 All of them have collection areas with these elevation changes.
02:32 The terrain kind of filters the drives,
02:34 whether you're a medium length player or a long player.
02:37 So it really becomes an approach fest.
02:39 Nine of the holes, you're gonna see some really, really long approach shots.
02:42 Four of those are those par 5s, trying to hit them in two.
02:46 And then the other nine holes or eight holes or so,
02:49 you're gonna see very much a wedge fest.
02:50 And that's why these guys, I mean, John Rahm, he was the runner up two years ago.
02:54 He had 33 birdies in four rounds.
02:56 Last year, he came back and won on Sunday over Colin Morikawa.
02:59 He had 30 more birdies.
03:01 So I don't think anyone in this field's missing him going to live,
03:04 that's for sure.
