A severe weather warning is in place for Queensland's southeast coast, with heavy rain expected around the New South Wales border.

00:00 March of South East Queensland has received a drenching in the last 24 hours with hundreds
00:07 of millimetres of rain recorded, particularly on the Gold Coast and scenic rim areas.
00:13 The rain has caused flash flooding on some areas and created more chaos for communities
00:18 still trying to pick up the pieces from severe storms that battered the region on Christmas

00:24 Many roads are cut from rising waters and residents, particularly on the scenic rim,
00:30 are being advised to avoid leaving their homes if possible.
00:34 Queensland Fire and Emergency Services have already been called to multiple flood-related

00:40 Flood warnings have been issued for the Narang and Coomera Rivers, with creek-level rises
00:45 also observed in the Mudrabah, Talabudra and Corumban creeks.
00:49 The Bureau predicts rapid rises will continue for the Pimpermar, Narang and Coomera Rivers
00:54 during periods of intense rainfall, which are forecast to continue for the next day
