00:00 Clint, what do you think is the issue when it comes to finishing these fourth quarters for you guys?
00:04 You guys are right there.
00:06 All these games are super close.
00:07 What do you think is the issue?
00:08 Yeah, I just felt that the way that we played first half and second half, fourth quarter was totally different.
00:14 I felt that whenever the game was getting tighter, we were not finding more open shots as we were in the first half.
00:23 Whenever you get these contested shots or you don't create a finder, don't get guidance, it's hard.
00:32 It was just harder.
00:34 The defense went up and our shot selection was not as good as the first half.
00:40 So it was just harder for us to make shots.
00:46 And when their offense is kind of starting to click on all cylinders,
00:50 how do you guys not let your defense dictate how your offense kind of goes?
00:54 Yeah, it's kind of hard because whenever you don't want to let that to happen to you,
01:01 but whenever you see that you let it open guys and get shots,
01:06 it just obviously affects you a little bit.
01:09 And obviously on defense, you're still going to work it out to make it play and defend the right way.
01:15 But the other team got even more confident.
01:17 The other teams gave you a defensive rebound and just pushed the ball and played with more confidence.
01:23 So it was almost day and night with the first and second half, especially fourth quarter.
01:31 And yeah, I feel like every time this year has been, every time we're kind of tight in the fourth quarter,
01:38 we have to get better at making the right plays.
01:42 I asked Coach Snyder about you taking on another dominant big man and you rise to the occasion.
01:48 You had a double-double, you held Sabonis to I think zero-digit rebounds tonight.
01:53 What allowed you to be successful in this matchup against him?
01:57 Yeah, I've been playing for a couple of years.
02:01 I kind of know his game.
02:02 I know I just try to make his job tougher as best as I can.
02:08 And yeah, I just want to make him stop and our team whenever we get a chance to run,
02:14 to run on the fast break and find a good shot to make layups, dunks.
02:18 It lifts our whole team.
02:20 And that's why I felt that we did in the first half and were able to create in the second half.
02:26 Clint, just to go back to what you were talking about, you were saying you get tight.
02:30 Do you think it's more mentally than anything else?
02:33 It's obviously, it can't just be one thing.
02:35 It's both mentally, physically, mindset-wise.
02:40 You just have to keep that mindset of finding the open man and open shot.
02:46 This is the best way to give ourselves a chance to get back in those tough games.
02:52 Because whenever a team comes back and we keep on taking tough shots,
02:58 contested shots and trying to sometimes toss you a record, it's not going to help us.
03:05 Especially in the fourth quarter, whenever you had to lead the whole game,
03:10 it's not going to help you.
03:12 And it definitely didn't help us this year because we really have this feeling every time
03:18 we got in tight in the fourth quarter, the last four or five minutes with the team,
03:22 we have to do a better job at finding open man and make better plays.
03:29 Clint, when you look at Chicago and then you looked at the first half tonight,
03:32 it kind of seemed like guys were putting more bodies on the Kings.
03:37 What is the difficulty with kind of transitioning that into the second half
03:41 so that you guys can continue to rebound?
03:43 >> Well, I have to tell myself that, I mean, the game's not over after the first half.
03:47 Second half, especially whenever we're beating them that way in the first half,
03:55 we know that they're going to come hard in the second half and
03:57 try to give themselves a chance to get back in this game.
04:00 Which is what they did and our side, we have to tell ourselves that,
04:04 we have to keep going, the game's not over.
04:06 Second half is tough, NBA games are long and
04:10 we can't get bored of thinking that all games over and then we can't slow down.
04:16 We cannot slow down because the other team on the other side is trying to come back
04:19 to the game so they're playing faster, making stops and running, shooting threes,
04:23 playing confident, so we have to do the same thing and we can't get bored.
04:28 And this has been our problem.
04:30 >> Clint, you've been around the NBA for a number of seasons now.
04:36 When you've seen ruts like this end in the past, what does it take to sort of
04:41 get a turnaround just from an emotional, psychological point of view?
04:45 >> I mean, it just gets harder and harder to take, honestly.
04:51 Because it sucks, it sucks to lose like that, especially tonight,
04:57 because I really felt that we were better.
04:58 And I also felt that we just almost helped them feel more confident.
05:07 And yeah, we just gotta do a better job and talk to each other,
05:13 scream at each other, argue, I don't know, get them to do something.
05:16 And yeah.
05:22 >> Thanks, bud.
05:23 >> Thank you, Clint.
05:23 >> Bye.
