00:00 Home Secretary James Cleverley who has apologised after making a joke about spiking his wife's
00:06 drink with a date rape drug. He's apologised for that. Downing Street says the matter is closed.
00:12 But I noticed that Labour's Emily Thornberry has called it deeply misogynistic. He said he should
00:17 be ashamed of himself. What do you think? Yeah, I think it was a very ill-judged comment. But I
00:23 mean, James has, I think James has owned that comment and apologised. I think he understands.
00:28 And actually, you know, you can if anybody who follows James on social media will see how
00:32 deeply in love with his wife he is and what a wonderful relationship they have.
00:37 So, you know, I think that he's, he's apologised. Let's move on.
00:42 But he heads up the Home Office that's in charge of tackling incidents like spiking. It's really
00:49 in that position. He shouldn't be making jokes like that, should he?
00:52 Well, I mean, as you say, it was a sort of an off the cuff,
00:55 silly remark. I'm sure he completely regrets it. I mean, we all say things that we regret.
01:01 Very ill-judged. And it was a misogynistic comment. But let's hope that he's learned from
01:08 that and that we can move on. It shouldn't over, it shouldn't supersede all the really
01:13 important stuff that the Home Office needs to get to grips with.
