00:09 [crowd cheering]
00:12 If tonight is anything like the night we saw back in July
00:18 with Gonzalez and Cecena, buckle up.
00:22 Set for our main event of the evening.
00:25 Here we go. It's time to fight.
00:28 The Southpaw Orlando Gonzalez in the white trunks.
00:33 His opponent, 27-year-old Jorge Castaneda
00:38 in the orange and blue trunks.
00:41 [crowd chanting]
00:44 Gonzalez training at the Atlantic Boxing Club in Puerto Rico.
00:49 [crowd chanting]
00:51 Atlantic Boxing Club in Long Island, huh?
00:53 Oh, good right hook over the top there.
00:55 You have the mountains and the beach and the one in Long Island, Paulie?
00:58 No. [laughs]
01:00 Maybe some beach.
01:01 Maybe some beach.
01:03 Orlando trained by his father and also his cousin, Henry LeBron, 19-0 as a professional.
01:12 Mike Murphy's gym, right champ?
01:14 Yep. Atlantic Boxing Gym out in Long Island.
01:17 [crowd chanting]
01:19 It's on the Atlantic.
01:21 Well, yeah, technically, yeah.
01:23 [laughs]
01:25 Sometimes Goldie.
01:27 [laughs]
01:29 [laughs]
01:31 You're on tonight.
01:33 [laughs]
01:35 Thank you, brother.
01:37 It's that age. It's that other--another year of wisdom.
01:39 Another year of wisdom.
01:40 You were saying geography before, right?
01:42 Yeah.
01:43 And now mathematics--no, mathematics and now geography.
01:45 And cryptocurrency.
01:47 Yep. [laughs]
01:49 Talk about a man of the world.
01:51 Man of the future.
01:53 Oh!
01:54 A sharp counter there by Castaneda.
01:56 Yeah, that left hook over the top.
01:57 Great weapon against the southpaw.
01:58 Castaneda, 12 of his 16 wins, guys, have been by knockout.
02:02 And Castaneda, with that height, can get you reaching in.
02:04 So if Gonzalez doesn't negotiate that distance the right way,
02:07 Castaneda will have opportunities to catch Gonzalez coming in.
02:12 Yeah, and we spoke about--oh!
02:14 [crowd cheering]
02:17 They are going at it early here in our main event.
02:22 Gonzalez trying to make short work of Castaneda.
02:30 And we mentioned at the top that Castaneda has been stopping his two losses.
02:34 And he's kind of a slow starter at times, guys.
02:36 Yeah.
02:37 He did get stopped in the first round a few fights ago.
02:41 But part of that is because he's in there trying to win.
02:44 Oh, man, good check hook.
02:48 Yep, finished in a minute and 35 seconds by Eduardo "Rocky" Hernandez.
02:53 Good counter to the body by Gonzalez.
02:56 Gets a warning from referee De Jesus for being slightly low, but he's thinking.
03:03 He's thinking in there. He's not just headhunting.
03:05 Although Castaneda, despite taking clean shots, is the one trying to stalk.
03:10 I don't think he knows how to do anything else, honestly.
03:12 This is the way he fights.
03:16 Gonzalez doing a great job splitting the guard of Castaneda.
03:19 He's got that high guard coming forward.
03:22 Good start for Orlando Gonzalez.
03:26 [crowd cheering]
03:29 [crowd chanting]
03:42 [singing in Spanish]
03:58 [crowd cheering]
04:00 Third day of that round, Gonzalez found a home for that straight left hand
04:03 right down the middle.
04:05 Popped the head straight back of Castaneda.
04:09 Was hurt, got hit with some bigger shots after that.
04:11 The right hand, left hand again.
04:12 He's having trouble getting away from that left hand right through the middle.
04:16 I had mentioned Castaneda fights with that high guard, comes forward,
04:19 gets a little square at times, and Gonzalez took advantage of that,
04:22 throwing those shots right down the middle, threading the needle with the left hand.
04:26 Gonzalez wouldn't mind a short night of work.
04:28 Just four finishes in his last 11 fights.
04:32 Eight of his 12 finishes came in his first 10 professional fights.
04:37 He's the southpaw on the white.
04:39 Castaneda in the orange and blue trunks from the border town of Laredo, Texas.
04:49 First career loss for Orlando Gonzalez was to Robesi Ramirez,
04:54 the WBO featherweight world champion, two-time Olympic gold medalist.
05:00 Another loss was to Misael Lopez.
05:04 Oh, man, that left hand.
05:06 Gonzalez really has found a home for that thing.
05:10 Yeah, and it's a good counter left hand, too.
05:12 He tries to time Castaneda's long jab with it.
05:20 Castaneda stopping right in front, right in position to get hit with that shot.
05:23 And there he pulls away.
05:25 I think Gonzalez at times can be caught reaching when he's trying to lead with that shot.
05:29 So what he does, he actually does the best job of landing that left hand on the counter.
05:35 Castaneda gives up his own height trying to throw.
05:38 Castaneda does do that at times.
05:40 Yeah, and Gonzalez trying with that check hook.
05:42 We saw that in the Susana fight.
05:44 He used that quite well.
05:47 Looks like he's throwing a little bit wide here early on.
05:50 I can see the power in Castaneda.
05:52 He does have heavy hands.
05:54 And Gonzalez, even though he hasn't really been touched with anything too big,
05:57 you can see the concern on his face when Castaneda lets those hands go.
06:00 Yeah, a lot of times he's told guys they'll have that leverage, that driving shot.
06:07 Eight-week camp with Marcos Calderon in Coachella for Castaneda.
06:15 Family business for Orlando Gonzalez.
06:18 Blood from the nose of Castaneda, which I'm not surprised.
06:21 He swelled up right away when he got hit last round.
06:24 And Gonzalez has landed some clean left hands down the middle.
06:31 Dad and Uncle Luis Perez, professional boxers.
06:36 Uncle Luis represented Puerto Rico at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
06:42 That was with Miguel's brother.
06:45 Yep.
06:48 Oh, just missed.
06:51 Yeah, good combination.
06:52 It was a little bit slappy on the hook.
06:54 Didn't turn the knuckles over, but still a good shot.
06:58 Oh, that's a good shot.
07:00 Wow.
07:02 And down goes Castaneda.
07:05 His legs are stiffened up bad.
07:08 Good double hook there by Gonzalez.
07:12 Textbook combination, body head.
07:14 I think Castaneda understands what's going on.
07:16 He's not letting him show him he can put his hands up and show him he can fight.
07:18 And he's not putting them up.
07:19 End of the round.
07:21 He may get saved by the bell.
07:26 His legs are still not there.
07:30 [Cheering]
07:33 Take a look at this textbook combination from Gonzalez here.
07:54 Right hand left hook, right hand hook to the body there,
07:59 and then right to the head over the top.
08:01 Big shot.
08:02 Yeah, right to the temple, champ.
08:03 Castaneda was in a world of trouble.
08:05 Yeah, and that's what it is when it comes automatic.
08:07 You see, he didn't think about it.
08:08 He did it automatic.
08:09 Touched to the body, touched to the head.
08:11 And Castaneda two up high.
08:13 You see, Gonzalez, a good shot.
08:15 Castaneda gets too close, but he keeps his height.
08:17 It's good to have a height if you understand your range,
08:19 but when you get close, you've got to kind of bend your knees a little bit.
08:23 You can't be up that high, especially when you have the height of a guy like Castaneda.
08:28 It's even more.
08:29 Especially when you fight as square as Castaneda does, being tall and square.
08:33 You're a big target, even though you're a thin guy.
08:35 And we were talking about how he's been stopped in both of his losses.
08:37 He does not take the best punch, so he's got to make sure to be defensively responsible
08:42 to prevent himself from getting hurt.
08:46 And the crowd here tonight at our Pro Box TV World Headquarters
08:50 loves Orlando Gonzalez, who has fought seven times in Orlando, Florida.
08:57 This is his 13th fight here in the United States.
09:01 Orlando is one of the Puerto Ricans.
09:03 Yep.
09:04 Gonzalez being smart, not ignoring the body shots either.
09:08 Landing some nice left hands to the liver side of Castaneda.
09:12 Orlando said he welcomes tough matchups, big challenges, never shies away.
09:18 Very excited to be back on Pro Box and really thrilled to be here at our Pro Box World Headquarters.
09:24 And off to a good start with the second round knockdown of Castaneda.
09:29 Oh, big left hand over the top. Straight right--straight left hand that time.
09:33 Oh, look off the body.
09:34 To the feint too. Nice combination.
09:36 Off the feint, froze Castaneda, and then dropped the two-punch combo.
09:40 This is what I like about Gonzalez. He can be classy and a killer at the same time.
09:46 Yeah, he's thinking in there. Technically, fundamentally good.
09:50 Good speed, good snap on his shots. He's a thinker.
09:54 Castaneda, though, man, he's got will for days.
10:01 He puts himself in position to be hit, but he's got to be responsible as he's pressing.
10:05 That's another thing. When he's hurt, he goes right to throw punches, and that's when he gets clipped a lot.
10:10 He's got to have something if Marcos Caballero is training him in Coachella.
10:16 But Gonzalez off to a great start here in our main event.
10:20 Another thing that Gonzalez showed in that Cesena fight was a great gas tank.
10:28 That was a tough, fast-paced fight for ten rounds.
10:32 That was a fun, fun fight.
10:35 Yeah, you've got to get better coming off fights like that.
10:37 You know, fights like that really reveal a lot about yourself that you may not even know.
10:42 Things you may not even need to know you had inside.
10:44 I made my friends and family watch that fight afterwards. It was that good.
10:48 Again, that counter left hand.
10:56 Nice job getting the head off line there. Again, threading the needle with that left hand.
11:00 28-year-old Orlando Gonzalez.
11:05 Don't go back, don't go back.
11:08 This is his fourth fight at 130 pounds.
11:14 Setting nice traps, this Gonzalez. Stops on a dime, fires hard shots.
11:19 Ooh.
11:23 [applause]
11:26 [applause]
11:29 [applause]
11:56 We close out 2023, Wednesday, December 13th, with a ten-round, super lightweight main event.
12:03 Montreal moving to the Sunshine State.
12:05 Baruzan Djukumbaev from Kazakhstan fighting out of Montreal, 21-1.
12:11 We'll face off against Mohamed Mamou, born in France, now living and training in beautiful Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
12:19 Plus Kelvin Davis, Naji Lopez, and Dominic Baez.
12:24 Friday, Wednesday, December 13th, right here on Pro Box TV.
12:29 Round number four of our main event.
12:31 Is Ben Morin still with Roy Jones as well?
12:33 I believe so, yeah.
12:35 When he made his debut here on Pro Box TV against Cesar Francis, that's when he got his jaw broken early, but they went the distance.
12:43 And then he came back on our air on the undercard of the Susana Gonzalez.
12:47 That's right.
12:48 And got a big win against an undefeated fighter.
12:50 That'll be Kazakhstan by way of Montreal against France by way of Pensacola.
12:57 Yeah, both.
13:00 Alright guys, I'm going to put in a request to the merchandise department that we get Pro Box blankets to cover us from the blood that we get in these fights because...
13:13 You getting hit?
13:14 Not yet, but I sense it coming on. That nose is leaking a little bit.
13:19 Get some Pro Box bibs for ringside.
13:24 All he has is B.Y.B. smock.
13:28 Yeah, I forgot that one. I got to use it here too.
13:32 Unless the merchandise department gets the memo from the champ Chris over here.
13:38 The body shots here by Gonzalez.
13:40 Again champ, like you said earlier, he does not neglect the body despite the success he's had to the head.
13:44 Or Paulie will just put anything he can in front of him like Sunday night dinner his entire life.
13:50 You know, we just had Terexana just get a win on the undercard in the co-main event here.
13:56 He should watch a guy like Gonzalez because he's got great lateral movement, stops on a dime, still lands power, and doesn't exit before he lands his shots.
14:04 Very good classy stuff from Gonzalez here.
14:08 Yeah, we're very well schooled.
14:11 If Anderson Silva's precision was precise, Orlando Gonzalez's versatility is versatile.
14:20 Oh, good right hand there from Castaneda over the top.
14:23 Yeah, he's kind of pressing.
14:25 Oh yeah, oh yeah.
14:26 He caught Gonzalez a couple of times there guys.
14:29 You know, pressure bus pipes. Castaneda has not stopped coming forward.
14:33 Some of that pressure may be starting to pay off.
14:36 I told you, I saw it in that first round. Gonzalez did not look comfortable when Castaneda was punching.
14:42 Some guys just have that crack.
14:45 And Castaneda rebounded from the first round TKO loss to Rocky Hernandez by finishing Nestor Medallin in the eighth and final round back in August of this year.
15:01 Is Castaneda turning this momentum around here guys? Round four?
15:05 Castaneda's one of those guys, if you heard him, you better get him out of there because he's going to come on late.
15:12 He's undeterred by getting hurt and getting dropped badly.
15:17 Trying to make up that point right here, right now.
15:20 And again, Castaneda getting all kinds of fired up.
15:25 We got ourselves a fight!
15:27 [crowd chanting "Rocky"]
15:37 [crowd chanting "Rocky"]
15:50 Don't bite standing up. Stay bent over.
15:54 [crowd chanting "Rocky"]
15:57 [crowd chanting "Rocky"]
16:09 Work the first 60 seconds. Stay calm.
16:12 Turn up the pace in the final two minutes.
16:15 The advice from Orlando's father, Orlando Gonzalez Sr.
16:20 Castaneda figured something out though. Is he going to start the round with high pressure that may not allow Gonzalez to work calmly in that first minute?
16:30 But also is that going to open him up for the power shots of Gonzalez and the precision punching?
16:37 White trunks for Orlando Gonzalez, 21 and 2.
16:41 Jorge Castaneda is 16 and 2.
16:44 He is in the orange and blue trunks.
16:47 Paul Gonzalez against the orthodox fighter Jorge Castaneda.
16:52 And champ, the answer is yes, of course. That's why they're here fighting.
16:55 That's why we have them on Pro Box. So they can walk right into each other's offensive weapons.
17:00 [crowd chanting "Let's go!"]
17:03 That's why the matchmakers have made this match. You got that right.
17:06 Even fights that start out one side, it ends up being fights.
17:09 See A and the other A side.
17:11 Exactly. Oh, nice short right hand from Castaneda down the middle.
17:16 Gonzalez responds in kind with his left hand.
17:19 Well, I said if this is anything like the fight we saw in Kissimmee from Orlando Gonzalez and Romero Cicinna,
17:26 we're going to have ourselves a lot of fun and it's starting to heat up.
17:30 Oh boy, man. These are heavy shots from both guys.
17:33 Castaneda just gets so square on the inside.
17:37 Standing in the pocket and trading.
17:45 We spoke about how Gonzalez has great boxing ability but tends to bite down and fight even when it's not in his best interest.
17:53 Capu, a nickname given to him by his mother, a flower in which the petals have not yet separated,
18:07 but another of his nicknames is the Golden Southpaw.
18:13 Puerto Rico coming on strong here.
18:17 Two up high on the ropes. One minute.
18:21 To work diligently in the first 60 seconds, turn it up in the next 120 and that's exactly what Gonzalez is doing here right now.
18:32 Both sides of the body. Gonzalez right hook, then left hook.
18:38 Castaneda returns fire.
18:42 I like that right uppercut to the body that Castaneda is throwing.
18:47 Right between the elbows. There it is again.
18:51 Those shots suck. They hit you right in the solar plexus.
18:55 You think you're going to block it and it still gets through.
18:58 There it is right there.
19:01 That was the liver side.
19:06 Turned into a phone booth fight, guys.
19:09 I'm not mad at it.
19:11 Oh no.
19:13 Nobody's on their bike in this one.
19:15 Zayn used enough of the ring for a couple of different guys last fight.
19:19 I think it probably says it.
19:23 [bell ringing]
19:26 [crowd cheering]
19:29 [crowd cheering]
19:33 [crowd cheering]
20:01 Knocked down in the second and some punishment in the last round from Gonzalez to Castaneda. Wow.
20:08 Castaneda again, two up high there against the ropes.
20:11 You want to keep a small target when you're up against the ropes.
20:14 It was a bit of a change in that round too.
20:16 We got some good replays for Gonzalez, but Castaneda's been dishing some out as well.
20:19 Yeah, that round especially. It was a back and forth round.
20:21 Even though all those replays were for Gonzalez, Castaneda did not have a bad round either.
20:29 Round number six, our main event of the evening.
20:32 Scheduled for ten for the vacant WBA Continental North America Super Featherweight belt.
20:39 When Castaneda went down a few rounds ago, you didn't think he was going to go much longer, right?
20:43 Very true.
20:44 And the way that Gonzalez came out in round number one as well, Paul.
20:47 Until that point, it looked like it was going to be a short night, but at some point, Castaneda got pissed off.
20:55 Can I say that?
20:56 Yes, you just did.
20:58 And that was it.
21:00 Now we got to fight.
21:02 Didn't somebody just say, "Let's have a dog fight." We have one.
21:09 What was it, Mr. T and Apollo in the corner?
21:14 Apollo and Paulie saying, "Is he getting hurt?"
21:17 "No, he's not getting hurt. He's getting mad."
21:19 Yep, yep.
21:20 Castaneda got mad after getting dropped.
21:22 I keep wanting to correct some of the technical flaws of Castaneda, but I don't think it matters.
21:27 He doesn't care. He's here to fight.
21:29 Pull him back straight. He's tall. He gets tall along the ropes. It doesn't matter.
21:32 He's just here to land punches.
21:34 And Marcos Caballero said he's a good fighter, good technique.
21:38 He actually listens to the corner.
21:41 And much like you said about Gonzalez, the trainer of Castaneda said he knows when to box, when to move, and when to really get in and brawl.
21:50 And we've seen it all for both guys.
21:52 I think that the fighter's will and mentality does Castaneda.
21:57 He was in a world of trouble and got up angry.
22:00 And has been pretty consistent and had some good rounds these last few.
22:07 "Clover Lang" reference from Paulie Molinaggi.
22:10 Well, Clover was in the ring, but Apollo and Paulie were talking in the corner.
22:14 Yep.
22:20 Good left hand there by Gonzalez. That's something he has managed to keep finding.
22:25 Just hasn't hurt Castaneda as much as he did earlier.
22:29 To the body.
22:31 Gonzalez getting back on that good lateral move and stemming the tide and the pressure of Castaneda picking his punches much better now.
22:38 Chip, you got a point though. Because Castaneda landed a right hand there and Gonzalez went away.
22:42 When he gets it, he's like, "Alright, let me reset."
22:46 This guy's hands are heavy. Let's keep it moving.
22:50 I mean, listen, there's no comparison in terms of boxing abilities here.
22:55 But Castaneda's just a ton of will, he's tough, and he's got power.
22:59 Ooh, hook there.
23:00 And you can't T-chart.
23:02 Oh, good double left hook there from Castaneda.
23:07 Body-head combination.
23:10 And again, you see he lands and Gonzalez is like, "Alright, the exchange is done."
23:14 We're not trading.
23:16 Final seconds of the sixth. And another left hand lands.
23:22 Well, Castaneda gets hit and he's like, "Nah, I want to exchange."
23:26 Loading up on the left.
23:40 Double right hook from Gonzalez was a great shot back in round number two.
23:44 There we saw the double left hook from Castaneda landed beautifully along the ropes there when he had Gonzalez backed up.
23:51 His grandfather first took him to the gym at age seven.
23:57 Gonzalez, as I mentioned earlier, from a fighting family.
24:01 His father and his cousin, Henry LeBron.
24:05 19-0 with ten knockouts in his corner again here on Pro Box TV.
24:10 Our main event continues.
24:18 Gonzalez, the southpaw and the white.
24:26 Castaneda fighting out of Laredo, Texas in the orange and blue trunks.
24:33 Gonzalez slipped in his own corner there.
24:35 If it was a bucket of ice, Rogan would be going crazy.
24:43 Castaneda again trying to dig into that rib cage.
24:55 Nice body shot from Castaneda. Slip that in right into the elbow.
24:58 Yeah, because you know what? Gonzalez can't do that.
25:00 He can't be slippery to the head, you know?
25:02 So Castaneda, body shot there by Gonzalez.
25:05 One good body shot deserves another, right?
25:07 That was a killer body shot. Castaneda took it well.
25:09 Man, he's tough.
25:11 You see Gonzalez, good body shot again by Gonzalez.
25:14 See, Gonzalez can be slippery on the inside.
25:16 So Castaneda is smart to go to the body.
25:20 You see on the head shots, a lot of them, Gonzalez is able to slip.
25:25 Double uppercut, body, body.
25:27 Answered.
25:30 You know, what is with Gonzalez, I think he just loses focus at times.
25:36 And when he's dialed in, he's really difficult.
25:38 Those shots are beautiful, sets them up beautifully.
25:41 But sometimes gets into these exchanges and doesn't get the better of it always.
25:46 Yeah, educated shot selection.
25:48 The tape is loose here on the glove of Castaneda.
25:52 And you see the corner of Castaneda frantically
25:55 because they understand that they need to keep the pressure on Gonzalez.
25:59 And that rebound win that I mentioned after Castaneda was finished quickly by Rocky Hernandez.
26:07 He said they worked the body very well, combinations, and got into late finish.
26:12 And he's starting to work the body and the uppercuts here.
26:15 Good uppercut there by Castaneda.
26:23 And after that round two knockdown, who would have thought we'd be here in round number seven.
26:28 These guys fighting in a phone booth, back and forth.
26:31 Good combination.
26:33 Snap the head back, Castaneda just gets angry.
26:36 Castaneda's punch resistance got better after not getting knocked down.
26:40 Sometimes you get knocked down like that, you think guys get concussions.
26:43 But man, his punch resistance got better.
26:49 Castaneda said, "I just love everything about boxing. I love to fight."
26:55 Which also makes me think in that one round knockout loss,
27:02 what if he would have survived that and come back?
27:04 He's that kind of guy.
27:06 Like you said earlier, if you heard him, you want to get him out of there
27:10 because it's going to make your life a bit more difficult if you let him last.
27:14 He's making Gonzalez's life hell right now.
27:16 Blood from the mouth of Gonzalez, a little mark under the eye of Gonzalez.
27:20 Oh, big shots from Gonzalez.
27:23 As they get more fatigued, defense gets a little more sloppy
27:27 and shots are starting to land more and more for both guys.
27:30 This is where Castaneda wants to be.
27:32 Coming to a fight of attrition here.
27:36 [bell ringing]
27:39 Thank you.
27:49 Keep going.
27:50 [bell ringing]
28:02 [speaking Spanish]
28:05 [whistle blowing]
28:09 Nice little body shot.
28:16 Right to the liver. Beautiful.
28:18 And that southpaw stance from Gonzalez on the counter.
28:20 And then the combinations.
28:22 There again, Castaneda has a tendency to get straight up high at times on the inside
28:28 and Gonzalez taking advantage with those shots.
28:31 But Castaneda comes right back punching.
28:33 He takes them better as the fight wears on.
28:35 Again, that was another replay really focusing on Gonzalez,
28:37 but Castaneda landed some really big shots that round as well.
28:40 Well, you want to talk about being in tough.
28:43 Last four opponents for Castaneda.
28:47 A combined record of 58-1-2.
28:51 Nice.
28:52 He's gone 3-1 in those four fights.
28:55 And we saw Gonzalez's last opponent, Cesena,
28:58 so neither of these guys have been in that soft, you know?
29:01 No, not at all.
29:03 And he's also got a loss to Rabaisy Ramirez,
29:05 so both of these guys battle-tested as they come in here tonight
29:07 at the main event on ProBox TV.
29:10 Cesena with 16-1-1 going into the fight.
29:19 That potential Fight of the Year candidate in Kasimi
29:23 right here on ProBox TV back in July.
29:26 Good combination from Castaneda.
29:29 A little phone booth style right here, guys.
29:42 Gonzalez needs to be careful stopping in front
29:44 and letting Castaneda work.
29:46 You see Castaneda has a tendency to be up high, though.
29:49 Gonzalez may also be waiting for a shot to time that.
29:51 Good body shot by Castaneda. He backs up Gonzalez.
29:54 And he loves digging that left into the ribcage of Gonzalez.
29:58 And I remember from that Cesena fight,
30:00 one of the punches that was very effective against Gonzalez
30:02 was uppercuts, especially the lead uppercut.
30:05 And Castaneda just found his.
30:07 I think he heard you, man. You're just in 4-0 there.
30:10 It's a great weapon against a southpaw, the lead left uppercut.
30:15 A lot of times they dip right into it.
30:18 Yeah, there's something to that,
30:21 because Castaneda hasn't thrown one whole fight.
30:24 He just threw about six in a row.
30:25 There's another one. And another.
30:28 If it works, keep doing it.
30:31 Quick hands from Gonzalez.
30:34 Oh, man. What a fight.
30:37 Let's go.
30:39 Battle of attrition.
30:41 What more do you want?
30:46 If it's anything like we saw in July,
30:48 it might be that and then some.
30:51 Go tell your friends.
30:55 Wednesday night fights, Pro Box TV,
30:58 every main event is a classic.
31:02 30 seconds, round one.
31:05 Oh!
31:06 Gonzalez trying to turn it up in the latter part of this round.
31:11 What drama.
31:12 Castaneda up high, takes those shots.
31:17 Ay!
31:18 You can see Gonzalez gritting his teeth
31:24 whenever Castaneda lets those hands go,
31:26 whether they land or not.
31:28 Again with the uppercut.
31:30 And Gonzalez is not looking great.
31:39 [crowd cheering]
31:42 [speaking Spanish]
32:04 [speaking Spanish]
32:07 If you find a punch that lands,
32:18 keep going to it until it doesn't.
32:20 One, two...
32:23 Three, four.
32:25 You know what? I want to keep trying this one.
32:27 That's right when you had mentioned the uppercut.
32:29 But guys, he's on the other side of the ring,
32:31 I mean, this guy's got like the hearing of a dog
32:33 if he heard Chris Algieri say the uppercut.
32:35 Well, no, he actually threw one, he landed a good one,
32:37 and I saw it bothered Gonzalez, so I said it.
32:39 And then he went back to it five, six times.
32:42 Kept going back to the well,
32:44 and he caught a right hook for it, but...
32:47 Round number nine, scheduled for ten.
32:50 This is close.
32:52 Gonzalez, 21 and two.
32:55 Castaneda, 16 and two.
32:58 Vacant WBA, Continental North America,
33:01 Super Featherweight title will go to the victor.
33:04 You know, I don't know how close this actually is
33:06 on the scorecard, but it does seem like
33:09 Castaneda could win this fight almost by knockout,
33:11 because he has-- Gonzalez, very uncomfortable
33:14 the last four minutes or so.
33:17 Will that early ten-eight round
33:19 turn out to be a difference?
33:22 I mean, I would have Gonzalez ahead.
33:24 I think he's more competitive for more rounds.
33:27 But Castaneda's really coming on.
33:30 Tons of pressure from Castaneda.
33:35 And now he actually cuts the ring off quite well,
33:38 Castaneda. He's doing a good job.
33:40 I don't usually fight with that sense of urgency,
33:46 much to your point, Chris.
33:48 Gonzalez is trying to manage the time here in the ring.
33:51 He's trying to take that advice that his corner had given him
33:53 early in the fight by taking the first minute easy,
33:55 and then fighting the remainder of the round.
33:57 But right now, he's at the halfway point of this round,
33:59 and he's trying to still take it easy.
34:00 Yeah, the champ, no jab.
34:01 He's just allowing Castaneda to walk him down.
34:04 He's still working very hard, even though he's not punching.
34:06 Finally, he's spitting out blood.
34:07 The inside of his mouth must have a bad cut,
34:09 because it's been seeping out of his mouth,
34:11 and they're just there when he tried to breathe out.
34:13 Bunch of blood spit out by Gonzalez.
34:16 Well, I actually remember that happened
34:17 in the Susana fight as well.
34:18 There was a lot of blood from the mouth that night.
34:20 Those uppercuts.
34:22 Man, Castaneda just did it.
34:25 Gonzalez holding on tight, that body shot.
34:27 He might just take this round off.
34:32 Good shot there, though.
34:33 That's moved by Michael DeJesus, the referee.
34:36 He got out of the way.
34:37 He's quick on his feet, too.
34:38 Castaneda is the one applying the pressure.
34:42 Talk about the conditioning of Castaneda, man.
34:45 Listen, those knockdowns take a lot out of you.
34:47 He's looking strong.
34:50 He's got a lot of energy.
34:52 Just stalking Gonzalez here late.
34:56 Mexican fighters, man.
34:58 It's in the genetics.
35:00 Mexico against Puerto Rico never seems to disappoint.
35:05 I think Castaneda would be smart to take some of the power
35:08 off of these shots, let his hands go,
35:10 set his punches up a little bit,
35:12 because Gonzalez is still being slippery.
35:14 And landing shots like that.
35:17 Oh, good body shot there from Castaneda.
35:19 Yeah, that hurt him.
35:21 And a flurry right in front of our broadcast position.
35:24 Gonzalez is suffering through the end of this round.
35:26 He's getting out of there.
35:27 And that body shot hurt him, guys.
35:29 Final seconds.
35:30 He says "vamos" in Spanish, and he wins again.
35:35 I think he's better off fighting.
35:39 He yells back.
35:42 You know what? When you get kind of hurt,
35:43 and then you land a good shot, it gets you psyched up.
35:45 I can feel that energy from Gonzalez.
35:48 You know, you feel good about yourself.
35:50 Like, "All right, I got hurt, but they take this back."
35:52 You can see that body shot.
35:59 Combination there.
36:01 You said it perfectly.
36:03 He was already--
36:04 He already took it by then.
36:05 That was a follow-up combination to that body shot.
36:07 You said it.
36:08 He's suffering through that round.
36:10 It looked that way.
36:11 I've been saying all night, he's making faces
36:13 whenever Castaneda's punched.
36:14 I'm like, "I think this guy can hit."
36:16 And we're seeing it.
36:17 [crowd chatter]
36:20 You said the corner told him to take that round off.
36:24 I think he did better off when he was fighting.
36:26 Took less damage.
36:27 He's got to fight.
36:29 Because Castaneda is there to be hit.
36:33 See where they're going.
36:35 Three minutes remain.
36:38 Oh, man, I bet you this Ivy Tail in this round
36:41 is going to be all out.
36:42 Buckle up.
36:43 [laughs]
36:45 [crowd chatter]
36:47 Gonzalez in the white.
36:50 Castaneda in the orange and blue.
36:52 [crowd chatter]
36:56 A lot of opportunities for Gonzalez to use that jab
37:05 just to extend the tide a little bit.
37:07 Oh, headbutt there by Gonzalez.
37:13 Down on the mouthpiece and leave it all in the Pro Box ring.
37:16 Castaneda looks like he wants a 15-rounder tonight.
37:20 Yeah.
37:21 Still hitting hard.
37:24 You can hear it ringside.
37:25 Oh, man, good exchange.
37:30 I was going to say, where's that uppercut from Castaneda
37:33 that he had two rounds ago?
37:34 I haven't seen it since.
37:35 There it is, another one.
37:36 He's got more energy than body shots.
37:38 Dig in.
37:40 Double, triple, quadruple hook.
37:43 Great job by Castaneda.
37:45 Oh, that body shot.
37:46 Comes right back.
37:47 But a big answer by Gonzalez.
37:49 Gonzalez trying to manage his time,
37:56 trying to fight in spots
37:57 while Castaneda trying to fight consistently.
37:59 Oh, good body shot.
38:01 Walks him down, lands again.
38:04 Punches and bunches.
38:06 Gonzalez does not want to be in this ring any longer, man.
38:09 No, but you see he tries to save it up.
38:11 He tries to move, move, move,
38:12 and then try to put together a nice salvo.
38:15 And usually the salvo looks good.
38:16 Yeah, he's being smart.
38:17 He's being smart.
38:18 But Castaneda trying to take away the rest in between
38:20 so that he has no salvo to throw.
38:22 Castaneda wasting time.
38:30 Oh, another good uppercut.
38:31 He went back to it, champ.
38:32 Yep.
38:33 Will it be enough?
38:35 A couple of times now he's gone for the clinch
38:37 just to try to manage the time,
38:38 has Gonzalez this round.
38:40 Well, the latter rounds,
38:42 the statement is made more often
38:44 by Castaneda.
38:47 You always think about that
38:50 when the judges render their decision.
38:52 Tell you what, man,
38:53 Castaneda might start slow,
38:55 but it doesn't end slow.
38:56 Not at all.
38:57 You guys are right.
38:58 He's ready for 15 rounds.
38:59 Man, if you hurt Castaneda,
39:00 you better hope you get him out of there
39:02 because this guy is a nightmare
39:04 in these later rounds.
39:05 Oh, boy.
39:08 Out of the southpaw stance, man.
39:10 30 seconds.
39:11 Gonzalez bites down, throws back.
39:16 Oh!
39:17 Look at Castaneda.
39:18 What a main event
39:23 here on another Wednesday night on Pro Box TV.
39:26 Gonzalez is being very tough,
39:28 very slick, very smart.
39:30 Oh!
39:37 Oh!
39:38 Whoo!
39:41 Good fight. Good fight, guys.
39:44 What a fight.
39:45 What a fight.
39:47 There in the tonight.
39:48 I guess I'm not sleeping tonight.
39:55 [laughing]
39:57 Jeez.
39:58 [cheering]
40:00 Once again, it's in the hands of the judges.
40:25 Good start for Gonzalez,
40:27 and he scored the early knockdown.
40:29 It was such a good start.
40:30 You didn't think that this fight
40:32 was gonna last that much longer,
40:33 but not only did it last that much longer,
40:35 but you ended up having--
40:37 Castaneda having a lot of good rounds
40:39 as the fight progressed.
40:41 After this shot right here,
40:42 I mean, you thought this fight
40:43 was on the verge of being over,
40:44 and it might have been if it wasn't
40:45 right at the end of the round, right, Jim?
40:46 Yeah, I mean, I thought the fight was over.
40:48 I didn't think Castaneda was gonna be able to recover,
40:50 even with the one-minute rest,
40:51 but boy, did he ever.
40:52 He really came back in those middle rounds,
40:54 showed some good technical proficiency
40:56 with the offense, but I mean,
40:58 Gonzalez, just so slick, so smooth
41:00 when he lets those combinations go,
41:02 finds the opening great, but man,
41:04 Castaneda found the left hook to the body,
41:06 the left uppercut to the chin,
41:08 put a world of hurt on Gonzalez
41:09 as the rounds wore on.
41:11 There we see one of those beautiful body shots once again.
41:13 I think it even took Gonzalez by surprise,
41:15 the way Castaneda was able to not only resist
41:17 the knockout, but survive the knockdown,
41:20 but then come back and make a very tough fight
41:22 out of the whole thing, you know?
41:23 Castaneda seemed to get stronger
41:25 as it got later.
41:26 Yeah, absolutely.
41:27 The toughness, conditioning.
41:28 It became a real fight of attrition
41:30 as the fight wore on, and both guys put on
41:33 an entertaining display for the fans.
41:35 Well, we love to bring you guys here at Pro Box TV, guys.
41:40 Listen, if we can keep Gonzalez here for a while,
41:43 let's do it. He's always in good fights.
41:44 Yeah.
41:45 Let's make sure to keep Castaneda here as well.
41:49 Judges have rendered their decision.
41:53 Gonzalez or Castaneda?
41:55 Here's Mark Lichtenfeld.
41:57 Ladies and gentlemen, after ten back-and-forth
42:02 action-packed rounds, we go to the scorecards.
42:05 Rose Lessen scores about 95-94,
42:10 Castaneda.
42:11 Rodolfo Aguilar scores about 97-92,
42:17 Gonzalez.
42:21 And Tito Wilco sees it 96-93
42:25 for your winner by split decision,
42:28 and now the WBA Continental North America's champion,
42:33 Orlando "Capo" Gonzalez!
42:42 And then, guys, a little bit too slow of a start for Castaneda.
42:47 I think I'm gonna post him.
42:48 I'm gonna end up posting him.
42:51 Aguilar, the judge, probably missed a good fight tonight,
42:53 but the other two judges, you know,
