00:00 Zach, you're getting ready to play in the Warrnambool Grass Court Open next week. How are you feeling?
00:06 I'm really excited, really excited to get back out onto the court. It's been a couple of months since I've played a tournament.
00:12 I'm just looking forward to the atmosphere and the great competition that's ahead.
00:16 So it's going to be your tenth time competing in this particular event. What first got you started playing here and playing these tournaments?
00:26 Just the advertising from coaching in Warrnambool. My parents signed me up and I decided to have a crack.
00:34 I've just enjoyed the competitive environment ever since, so I keep coming back.
00:39 You've been away in Melbourne at the Sports Academy for Year 12. What was that experience like and how does it feel like you're taking your game to the next level this year?
00:48 It was incredible. My coaches up in Melbourne, Mark Sirfoulas and Nick Busatil have been working really hard with me and I feel like my game has improved a lot.
00:57 Just the competitive environment that I wasn't quite getting down here has really just boosted my confidence and hopefully my game as well.
01:06 You're contesting singles, doubles and mixed doubles. What strengths of your game do you hope to put on the court next week?
01:17 In singles my movement and my defence is pretty strong. I believe that I can reset the point when I'm on the edge of losing it.
01:28 In doubles I'm pretty good at moving around the net and finding the right position to set my partner up for a winning shot.
01:37 But as well as that I think I'm a pretty supportive partner so if we are down I think I can boost my partner up to get over the line.
01:47 You're going to have really big numbers here next week, I think 100 more than last year.
01:53 Are you excited to see what kind of tennis is on show across all the different events?
02:00 Yeah absolutely. Last year there wasn't heaps of numbers so it will be great to see all the courts full this year and everyone having a go.
02:08 Grass court tennis is a bit different so it will be cool to see how people I do know play on the different surface and just enjoy the tennis out there.
