00:27 Tendulkar himself brought the Mumbai Indians team to the museum

00:34 If it is in the museum, they don't know that it is in a good place, so they don't give it
00:39 There were many players like this, who started getting more and more
00:42 They also started getting confidence
00:44 Bowler's shoes are so important that they are ready
00:48 75,000 items, keeping them in their hands, giving them details, is it very important?
00:55 Hello, welcome to the special show of Lok Satta Online's Ghost Asamanyam
01:05 Cricket is a life-long passion of many
01:08 Today we are going to meet a cricket lover, who has embraced his love for cricket as a museum
01:16 We are talking about Rohan Patel
01:19 In the last 12 years, he has started a cricket association called Blades of Glory
01:25 It contains more than 75,000 items worth more than Rs. 550,000
01:33 Kapil Dev, Master Blaster, Tendulkar, Dhoni,
01:36 and many more items used in cricket games around the world
01:40 Stumps, bats, balls, jerseys and many more are in this association
01:47 But how did he get all these things?
01:50 How did all this come together?
01:52 Let's find out from him
01:54 Blades of Glory started in 2012
01:57 Sachin Tendulkar's statue was inaugurated
02:01 The idea behind it was that I myself played cricket in Maharashtra
02:07 From there, cricket is an Indian religion in our country
02:14 Everyone loves cricket
02:17 I was hesitant to play in India
02:23 I thought if I don't have this, then something else
02:27 Sachin Tendulkar got his bat in 2010
02:32 That's how the collection started
02:34 In 2010, I thought if I get Tendulkar's bat, then why not others?
02:39 I went to many places in the world
02:44 I saw their museums
02:46 I realized that Indian cricket is a religion
02:49 And if it is a religion, then it has no temple
02:52 Why shouldn't I try?
02:54 That's how the idea started
02:57 In 2012, after Sachin's inauguration
03:01 The world's largest cricket museum was built
03:04 After getting my bat, the collection started
03:08 In 2011, the World Cup started in India
03:13 We won it, MS Dhoni scored 6
03:16 I was so lucky
03:18 I was the only person in India
03:22 Who saw the World Cup up close
03:26 The team that was staying in the hotel
03:30 I was in the other rooms with Sachin and other players
03:36 I used to go to the hotel with them every time
03:42 From the games to the World Cup final
03:47 I used to meet them, chat with them
03:52 All the experiences I had with them
03:56 Not just me, but many of their family members
04:02 Also came to the World Cup final
04:04 But the things I saw from the practice games
04:07 I used to talk to them, play with them
04:10 I used to get autographs from them
04:15 I used to get things from them
04:17 I was so happy to get this
04:20 I didn't have any other wish
04:22 I signed the bats of all the teams that participated
04:26 I kept looking at the teams
04:28 I understood that I should get this
04:31 I kept asking for it
04:33 I got it, I didn't get it
04:35 I kept asking for it
04:37 I kept going to each player
04:39 I kept getting it
04:41 I saw it in some museums
04:43 I got to learn how to keep it
04:45 How to use it
04:47 I started making my own themes
04:51 World Cup winning teams, captains
04:54 World Cup triple centurions
04:56 I started looking at these things
04:59 And elaborating on those themes
05:01 I started growing things accordingly
05:04 Some players didn't say anything
05:06 Some players said, "What will you get?"
05:08 Some said, "Yes" but didn't get it
05:10 In 2012, when the museum opened
05:14 After Tendulkar inaugurated
05:17 Tendulkar brought his own Mumbai Indians team
05:21 I thought, "Mumbai Indians team?"
05:24 I started inviting everyone
05:27 Players started coming
05:29 Things got easier
05:31 They don't know that if it's going well
05:33 They don't have to give the stuff
05:35 The collection of stuff kept increasing
05:38 It was difficult in the past
05:41 Now it's easier
05:43 MS Dhoni
05:45 He gave his stuff in the beginning
05:47 In 2011 World Cup
05:49 His pads, gloves
05:51 The ones he used in the match
05:53 Then he started asking for shirts and bats
05:56 For the next 2 years
05:58 He said, "I'll give it to you next time"
06:00 "Come to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore"
06:03 He kept doing this
06:05 He went around a lot
06:07 He left a message
06:09 "MS Arit, you don't give it to me"
06:11 I was also upset
06:14 I said, "He just promises, he doesn't give"
06:17 In the 2013 Pune game
06:20 He gave me his bat, shirt, many things
06:23 The ones that were left
06:25 Pads, gloves, etc.
06:27 But later
06:29 I didn't have the desire
06:31 I wanted more
06:33 Shirt, bat, gloves
06:35 He kept asking for things
06:37 In 2013, he gave me many things
06:39 There were many players
06:41 Who started asking for things
06:43 They also started getting confident
06:45 "This is going to the museum"
06:47 Until it was done, everyone felt
06:49 We are also a poor community
06:51 Why should we give?
06:53 As soon as it was done
06:55 They realised it was going in the right direction
06:57 So they started getting it
06:59 These 2 things are important
07:01 Why is documentation so important?
07:03 Because it's history
07:05 Where, when, what steps were taken
07:08 Which player gave what
07:10 What happened, its protection
07:12 It's very important
07:14 I developed some software
07:16 What was going on, what wasn't
07:18 Now I give my input
07:20 I travel the world
07:22 I take some input from the software
07:24 Plus, minus, etc.
07:26 I develop the software myself
07:28 And I keep 75,000 items
07:30 In it
07:32 I give details
07:34 It's very important
07:36 Because
07:38 I was going to build 10 more museums
07:40 2 more have already been signed
07:42 I don't take their names
07:44 One is of the big IPL teams
07:46 Which was signed by the state
07:48 And there is another one
07:50 A big association
07:52 Which has history
07:54 It's very important to have information
07:56 Which item came from where
07:58 And the people who come
08:00 If they have information
08:02 That elaboration
08:04 People like to read
08:06 Or like to see
08:08 Sachin Tendulkar
08:10 What to say about Devat Cricket
08:12 It's a 2011 thing
08:14 During the World Cup
08:16 It was an England match
08:18 It was the first game in Bangalore
08:20 We met for 2 days
08:22 Me, him, we
08:24 We came to my room
08:26 We chatted
08:28 While chatting, I said
08:30 There was a discussion about the World Cup
08:32 I said, we will win the World Cup
08:34 And it will be 2 centuries
08:36 Not 3
08:38 3 means
08:40 It's 100 centuries
08:42 I said, I think it will be 2 centuries
08:44 Not 3, that's my gut feeling
08:46 And tomorrow you will score 120 runs
08:48 Tomorrow
08:50 It was a 2 day match
08:52 You will score 120 runs
08:54 I said, are you kidding?
08:56 We chatted
08:58 What do you want?
09:00 He said, I want your World Cup Final shirt
09:02 How confident are you that you will win?
09:04 I said, yes, I am confident
09:06 If I win, I want the World Cup Final shirt
09:08 He scored 120 runs
09:10 Against England
09:12 I told him 2 days ago
09:14 I don't know where did this instinct come from
09:16 But 120 runs, it's been 2 centuries
09:18 And he won the World Cup Final
09:20 And the shirt
09:22 After making a promise, he had to wait for 1-1.5 years
09:24 When the museum was established
09:26 When he gave the shirt
09:28 He was very adamant
09:30 That he will not give it
09:32 Because it was a winning moment for him
09:34 In any life, the biggest thing is
09:36 In his 24 years career
09:38 The moment he left
09:40 That is also a big thing
09:42 He kept that word
09:44 And I don't know
09:46 What was the instinct
09:48 Ideally, I shouldn't have said
09:50 It was not 3rd century
09:52 But I felt it
09:54 I said it
09:56 But if the World Cup Final had been
09:58 Done in the 12th century
10:00 It would have been a bigger thing
10:02 But nevertheless, he won the World Cup
10:04 We were 11
10:06 And it was for him
10:08 To go as he said
10:10 And it happened
10:12 He won
10:14 His shirt came in the museum
10:16 And this big thing was seen
10:18 And he supported me a lot
10:20 He gave me a lot of things
10:22 Bad shirt, gloves, pads
10:24 Once the museum was created
10:26 He gave me a lot of things
10:28 So, I am already blessed by him
10:30 And I will always be
10:32 See, in cricket
10:34 A lot of things play a role
10:36 We are not just batsmen and bowlers
10:38 We are also fielders
10:40 We have shoes for bowlers
10:42 We think that bats and ball is a thing
10:44 But the shoes of bowlers are also
10:46 So important that they are like weapons
10:48 You must have seen a lot of shoes
10:50 In the museum
10:52 We have caps, helmets, gloves
10:54 Pads, coats of Ampar
10:56 Bells, stumps
10:58 Every thing has a
11:00 Different kind of value
11:02 Everything in cricket
11:04 Is unique
11:06 And that is important
11:08 We have also seen a scoreboard
11:10 That is also important
11:12 So, each and every item
11:14 Has a different value
11:16 Like the scoreboard
11:18 That we saw in Virat and Tendulkar's room
11:20 Has been updated
11:22 So, that is also important
11:24 And the record is also important
11:26 Even if we are not in the cricket field
11:28 We should do something for this game
11:30 And make others happy
11:32 With this aim, Rohan has started
11:34 This journey through Blades of Glory
11:36 It is really amazing
11:38 So, if you also found it amazing
11:40 Then like this video immediately
11:42 Share it, comment on it
11:44 And if you have not yet subscribed
11:46 To Lok Satta's YouTube
11:48 Then do it now
