00:00 Our gaze, movement, and our speech reflect our image.
00:07 But what is a personal image?
00:10 And how do we build and develop it?
00:13 Let's find out the answer to this from our image consultant, Ms. Cathy Villag.
00:19 Good morning, Ms. Cathy.
00:20 Good morning.
00:21 Hi, hello.
00:22 Welcome to RST.
00:23 Good morning, everyone.
00:24 As an image consultant, how can we explain the concept of image to our female clients
00:32 or to your clients?
00:34 Well, actually, when you say image consultant, it's holistic.
00:39 It's not just about how you dress.
00:42 Basically, it's very personalized.
00:44 Like me, I'm very personalized with my clients because it's important that you know them.
00:51 It's also important that once they present themselves to the public, they're very comfortable.
00:59 So, from the way you speak, the way you stand, the way you dress up.
01:04 It has to be natural because it's so hard to do something that's not you.
01:11 It's hard because if it's not you, you'll make mistakes.
01:15 So, you need to know your client pretty well.
01:18 And, it's like a family.
01:21 That's how it's going to happen.
01:22 I started as a fashion stylist.
01:25 So, when I was doing fashion styling, I was like, "It's not enough."
01:29 No matter how good you are, right?
01:32 No matter how good you look, there's always a mistake.
01:36 So, you need to add something to your personality.
01:38 Exactly.
01:39 Whatever you can do.
01:40 And then, our misconception is like, for example, if we think our makeup is already
01:46 good, our hair is good, our clothes are good.
01:50 Especially, if you're already famous or you have a status in life.
01:57 Some people feel entitled.
02:01 They can do everything.
02:02 But, you know, if you're a public personality, you need to be very careful.
02:09 And, you need to be careful with what you say.
02:11 You might get offended.
02:13 But, of course, we're only human.
02:15 And, I said, you need to bring out the best on your client, not the negative side.
02:20 But, of course, once in a while, it will come out.
02:23 You know, of course, it's emotional.
02:24 We have emotions.
02:25 There's a time when we're not...
02:26 We're only human.
02:27 ...not Christmas.
02:28 Right?
02:29 There's a time when you fight with your boyfriend, your husband, or you have a fight with everyone.
02:35 You need to be very hands-on with that.
02:39 Because, there's a time when there's an issue.
02:43 Right?
02:44 Because, image consultancy is like, if you have a problem with your client, we handle those things.
02:52 Especially, if it's below the belt.
02:56 If they can't do it, they don't want to do it, they want to quit.
02:59 Because, there's a lot.
03:00 Some people, you know, you don't know that even if one person is public,
03:07 like, for example, a politician, an artist, they're also human.
03:12 So, they're not okay everyday, just like us.
03:16 So, that's also what people need to understand.
03:19 And, you need to educate people that we're all human.
03:23 Regarding that, you mentioned that you're talking about the public figures.
03:28 How do you advise them?
03:30 Because, it's hard.
03:31 You have a lot of engagements.
03:32 Yes.
03:33 You talk to a lot of people.
03:34 But, you also have your own problems.
03:36 Exactly.
03:37 I mean, what is your advice to them?
03:39 Well, especially to politicians, because for me, you know, it's so hard.
03:44 This is what I always tell them.
03:46 In politics, no matter what you do, not everyone will be happy.
03:53 Because, you cannot please everybody.
03:56 That's really it.
03:57 That's really a sin.
03:58 That's what they say.
04:00 Because, like, whoever sits as a president, or whoever sits as a leader,
04:06 if you're not able to give something, it's like a domino effect.
04:11 It's bad.
04:12 It's like that even in our personal life, right?
04:15 If you've declined something, the tendency is like, it's like a domino effect.
04:20 And, there's a domino effect of negativity.
04:25 But, of course, you know.
04:27 Imagine, it's like, for example, you.
04:31 They say, it's hard to be the owner of a company.
04:36 Because, if you own a company, you need to think about,
04:39 sorry, if you're the owner of a company, you need to think about how you're going to pay your salary,
04:48 how you're going to run your business, you know,
04:52 to make sure that people won't lose their jobs.
04:55 So, not like, as an employee, you just need to think, "I need to do my job."
04:59 Then, after that, I have a salary.
05:02 So, that's how it is to be a leader and a public figure.
05:05 You have a responsibility that's heavier.
05:08 Okay.
05:09 Ms. Katina, you mentioned earlier that you really take time to know your clients,
05:13 to develop their image.
05:16 But, how do you know the needs of your clients?
05:20 And, what are usually their needs?
05:23 Actually, I have the, I call it three and six, three months, six months.
05:27 So, I usually go with them, look at them, I let them be.
05:31 Then, from there, I will present something.
05:34 I need to study them because I don't want to change them.
05:37 I want, what you should do is just improve.
05:41 You won't change anything.
05:44 Because, you know, especially when you're old, right?
05:47 They say that when a tree is old, you can't bend it anymore.
05:51 And, it's curled up, you can't straighten it.
05:53 So, how do you do that?
05:54 Then, we just fix it.
05:56 So, you just nurture the tree, right?
05:58 You water it.
05:59 So, that's how it is.
06:00 Okay.
06:01 Ms. Cathy, how about to our ordinary fellow countrymen,
06:04 those who are in the corporate, right?
06:06 Who also want to improve their career.
06:08 The image is very important for them in a corporate setting.
06:12 What is your advice to them?
06:15 The number one advice for me is just be you.
06:18 Just be you.
06:19 Like, be true to yourself.
06:22 Just for you to be able to do that, you need to be confident, right?
06:25 For you to be confident, is talk to people who loves you.
06:28 Who will boost your, what do you call this?
06:32 Your moral.
06:34 Because, your integrity and moral is important.
06:36 That's it.
06:37 That's the foundation of being confident.
06:41 You won't just say that you're beautiful, you're smart.
06:44 It's different.
06:45 Because, if there's love, that's the moral support that's strong,
06:49 that will build the foundation for you.
06:51 And if you have mistakes, they will tell you what the points are.
06:55 The truth, right?
06:56 You know, because if you're loved by people, they will tell you the truth.
06:59 That's very important.
07:01 Alright. Well, thank you so much.
07:02 You're welcome.
07:03 For sharing your thoughts and of course, your expertise.
07:05 Ms. Cathy Binag, an image consultant.
07:08 Thank you. And Merry Christmas.
07:10 Thank you. Merry Christmas, everyone.
