00:00 Hello, my name is Tom Hunt, I'm the leader of Sheffield City Council.
00:05 As we now head towards the end of 2023, it's a great opportunity to look back on some of
00:10 the big steps forward that we've taken in Sheffield this year.
00:15 I'm here in the Peace Gardens and right around us there's so much development taking place.
00:20 The heart of the city development is nearing completion and we're seeing significant interest
00:25 from businesses, retailers and developers to come and be part of the changes that are
00:31 taking place here.
00:33 Pounds Park opened up, Coldweathers is on its way to have new life breathed back into
00:38 it and 2024 is looking like a big year for the city centre.
00:44 So as we look ahead to 2024, these changes are going to continue.
00:48 We're seeing the transformation of Bargate early in the new year, we'll see ground being
00:53 broken on the new park that's going to be built down at Castlegate and out in Atticliff
00:59 we're going to see the development of Atticliff Waterside, a new low carbon neighbourhood
01:04 of nearly 1,000 homes and we've just seen the Banners building being brought by Situ
01:11 and that's going to breathe new life back into a much loved building in the East End.
