This 2023, we launched our newest series: Flavor Profiles. It's where we get up close and personal with the people behind Filipino restaurants, private dining experiences, and other places that bring us cuisines from all over the world. Here are the best restaurants we visited in the Philippines this year.

00:00 This 2023, we launched our new series, Flavor Profiles.
00:04 A show exploring dishes and the philosophies of the chefs creating them.
00:08 I am Miguel Escueta PH, and here are some of the highlights from our new series this year.
00:12 Cabel is a restaurant that specializes in Tausug food, but serves dishes from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
00:19 Located right by Malacanang Palace, the seat of power, it represents Filipino heritage well.
00:24 From popular classics like Sisig, to regional favorites like the Chula Iton, this is a good place to go to if you want a tour of the Philippines on your plates.
00:32 Known for its cool weather and proximity to Metro Manila, Tagaytay is a popular destination amongst vacationers and foodies alike.
00:44 Often, what they look for in a location other than the food is hanging out somewhere where you can take in the wonderful views of Tadalake.
00:50 Rosario's offers both.
00:54 With its open layout and classy vibe, it's perfect for an out-of-town date place,
00:58 or for a family gathering where you can enjoy the food and experience everything that people love about Tagaytay.
01:03 Within the bustling city of Metro Manila, there's never a lack of one of the most popular foods known to man, pizza.
01:17 To stand out in this space is not something easy to do, but something Crosta Pizzeria'd as well.
01:22 With critically acclaimed chef Yuichi Ito at the helm, Crosta provides artisan pizza like no other.
01:27 You have your choice of regular toppings and some experimental ones as well.
01:31 Definitely something to try on your next dine-out or your next night in.
01:35 Heritage houses are homes owned and preserved for several generations as part of the Philippine culture.
01:44 Sometimes we see these homes repurposed into museums or restaurants.
01:48 And that's the case with the famous La Peral White House.
01:52 A staple in Baguio's landmarks, the La Peral White House is an old house-turned-museum and now restaurant.
01:59 You can enjoy a well-made meal while taking in the old-school architecture of the 1930s.
02:13 One of my personal favorite cuisines is Mexican food.
02:15 It's simple in concept, but when well done, can really elevate itself without being too pretentious.
02:20 I enjoy finding new places to try and when I heard about Los Tacos, I was excited.
02:25 It takes the familiar flavors of Mexican food and gives it a home-cooked feel.
02:30 I absolutely loved their birria and the fun did not stop there.
02:40 These are just some of the stops we visited this 2023.
02:43 If you're interested in any of these or our other features, do check out the playlist we have over at spot.ph.
02:48 There were just too many to place in one quick video, but we enjoyed every place we went to and every story we heard.
