00:00 It's the day thousands of South Australian students have been waiting for after 13 years
00:06 of schooling.
00:07 Three minutes.
00:08 Three minutes.
00:09 Oh.
00:10 Today is ATAR day.
00:11 Woohoo!
00:12 Well done!
00:13 High five!
00:14 What a high five!
00:15 But what's your A for that?
00:16 He's got five A's.
00:20 Terry Ninnis from Adelaide High School received an ATAR of 98.8.
00:25 An A+ with a merit for specialist maths, which is something I've been working towards for
00:29 a while and I was pretty confident in that.
00:32 And mum's ecstatic.
00:33 Right now I am so proud.
00:36 I can cry.
00:37 It's happy tears.
00:38 ATARs were released in South Australia today around 8.30am.
00:43 They will help determine what university courses students will be accepted into next year.
00:48 15,560 students completed their SACE this year, 7% more than last year.
00:55 They see themselves connected to the SACE, that school's somewhere where they can belong
00:59 and that the qualification will lead them somewhere into the future.
01:03 40 will receive Governor's Commendations for Excellence in and out of school.
01:08 I could barely sleep.
01:09 I was fortunate enough to get 99.95.
01:11 I just love photography.
01:12 I ended up in my 12th year becoming Video Director for their annual showcase.
01:16 And while not everyone will be happy with their score today, there are plenty of other
01:20 opportunities like doing a pathway course, completing further education at TAFE, going
01:25 straight into the workforce or taking a break from study.
01:28 The only thing preventing them from fulfilling their dreams is their own ambition and drive.
01:33 Thousands of futures with endless possibilities await.
