00:00 "I want to see my father!"
00:01 "It will all be over soon, princess."
00:04 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most memorable television
00:09 deaths that left us reeling and desperate to gather our thoughts before reacting.
00:14 A massive spoiler alert is now in effect.
00:18 "Is that how you want to be remembered?"
00:19 Number 10. Charlie Pace. Lost.
00:25 Anyone else still get chills when thinking about Charlie holding up his hand with the message,
00:30 "Not Penny's boat" on it? We do.
00:32 Charlie Pace was a selfless team player to a fault when it came to caring about his fellow
00:43 survivors. And that led to his tragic demise and one of the most memorable moments of the
00:49 entire series. When Charlie willingly swam to turn on a device to facilitate communication
00:55 from the island to the rest of the world, he sacrificed himself when a detonated grenade
01:00 flooded the communication room. Luckily, this didn't happen before he was able to warn Desmond
01:11 of the dangers of the boat, making for a sequence that was both mind-blowing and gut-wrenching to
01:17 watch.
01:22 Number 9. Glenn Rhee. The Walking Dead.
01:25 Negan was an all-time villain on this show, and one of his most horrific moments happened
01:30 in the episode in which Glenn met his demise.
01:32 When the Saviors captured members of Rick's group, we had no idea how doomed everyone really was.
01:44 Negan picked group members one by one to torture, starting with Abraham, almost going to Rosita,
01:51 and ultimately settling on Glenn as his victim. Using Lucille, aptly named after his late wife,
01:58 he killed Glenn, who shouted out for Maggie one last time before meeting his end. Glenn's was not
02:04 the only death in this episode, but it was the most horrific, and was also the one that left
02:09 us breathless. Number 8. Adriana LaServa. The Sopranos.
02:18 Any show about organized crime is bound to have more than a few grisly deaths,
02:23 and even though this one happened off-screen, it was still brutal.
02:26 When Adriana told Chris about working as an FBI informant, she was almost killed by him. Instead,
02:36 they decided to leave this life behind, until Chris realized that's not going to work for him,
02:42 and he instead saved himself. Not only was she killed by Silvio, but also all of the
02:47 betrayals that culminated in her death were unreal to watch. She was one of the few main
02:55 characters on the show that was around since day one, so when she died, we definitely had no words.
03:01 Number 7. Zoe Barnes. House of Cards. Francis Underwood was a calmly scary person throughout
03:14 his runtime on the show, and although he never made a scene, that doesn't mean he never made a
03:19 stir. Zoe Barnes was a staple character in the first season of the show. As a motivated journalist
03:24 collaborating with a power-hungry politician, they seemed to be good for each other. They used one
03:34 another to advance their careers, and for some extracurricular activities too. However, at the
03:40 beginning of season two, it seemed Zoe was getting too close to the truth. Getting closer and closer
03:57 to suspecting that Frank might have killed Peter Russo, Zoe's fate was taken into his hands,
04:02 and our jaws hit the floor when she was pushed in front of the train.
04:06 Number 6. Rita Morgan. Dexter. Although there were many frightening killers on this show,
04:19 there were none that gave us chills quite like the Trinity Killer. The game of cat and mouse
04:24 between Dexter and Arthur Mitchell was spine-tingling, and kept us on the edge of our
04:29 seats. Watching their obsession for one another grow left us with a knowing feeling that their
04:34 dynamic would eventually come to a boiling point. All seemed to be resolved when he was
04:41 captured by Dexter, but it was not even close to the satisfying ending he was hoping for.
04:55 He found his son on the bathroom floor next to his wife Rita, who was dead in the tub. The words
05:01 "shocking" and "traumatic" don't do this moment justice, and we still haven't recovered.
05:05 Number 5. Shireen Baratheon. Game of Thrones. Familial issues were nothing new on this show
05:17 by the time the fifth season rolled around, but this situation took that to new heights.
05:21 Shireen's father, Stannis, would do anything to gain power, including sacrificing his daughter,
05:34 and his decision was unbelievable to say the least. Even more unbelievable is the scene in
05:39 which he goes through with it, and we see Shireen burned at the stake. We were shown how truly cruel
05:49 people can be in the name of strengthening their hold, even if the price is their own family. Game
05:54 of Thrones certainly had its fair share of death and disturbing moments, like Hodor's,
05:59 but this one left a lasting impact that surpassed all others.
06:03 Number 4. Will Gardner. The Good Wife. While a lot of shows on this list had their viewers
06:16 feeling familiar with death, this show was not one of them, which made this demise that much
06:20 more shocking. Will Gardner was defending an accused murderer named Jeffrey and believed in
06:30 his innocence, while his co-workers were doubtful. The stress of the trial took its toll on both Will
06:36 and Jeffrey, and it was unimaginable that one of them would snap in such a way. Jeffrey went on a
06:42 shooting spree in the courtroom, ultimately killing his own lawyer. Will was such a beloved
06:50 character, portraying a successful lawyer and a charismatic friend, and his loss was truly felt
06:55 by the characters on the show and viewers alike. Number 3. Joyce Summers. Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
07:04 Joyce Summers was the loving mother of Buffy, and had a nurturing role as a constant source of
07:10 support to both Buffy and her sister Dawn. Her death was truly a horribly memorable one,
07:15 as she unexpectedly had a brain aneurysm and was tragically found by her daughter.
07:20 Following the cliffhanger ending of "I Was Made to Love You," the body opened us finding out what
07:30 happened to Joyce, leaving us wordless for the entirety of the episode. This moment hits
07:38 particularly hard for anyone who has lost a parent, and goes to show all viewers that life
07:44 is precious, and those closest to us can be taken from us in an instant.
07:48 Number 2. Gustavo Fring. Breaking Bad. Gus initially appeared as a seemingly harmless
07:59 restaurant manager, and he seemed somewhat harmless even as we learned more about his
08:03 underground antics. But after he killed Victor with a box cutter after neatly putting away his
08:08 dress clothes, we knew we were dealing with a true psychopath. He would keep up his terrifyingly
08:15 calm demeanor while keeping everyone wondering if they would be his next victim, until Walt and
08:20 Jesse were finally able to get a jump on him. They planted an explosive on Hector, and watching Gus
08:33 straighten his tie as his life-ending injury is revealed in the episode that is aptly titled
08:38 "Face Off," undoubtedly left us speechless. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few
08:47 honorable mentions. Eddie Munson - Stranger Things. We had no words when Eddie told Dustin
08:53 to watch out for the other kids. George O'Malley - Grey's Anatomy. While saying goodbye to Derek
09:07 was difficult, the shocking death of 007 had us stunned. Lawrence Kutner - House. No one saw this
09:19 coming. Least of all, Dr. House. Raina James - Nashville. This main character's death had us
09:33 shook to our core, and the beloved show was never the same. Marissa Cooper - The O.C. There are no
09:47 words when Marissa dies in Ryan's arms after she insists he stay with her. Before we continue,

10:12 Number 1. Logan Roy - Succession. Considering the premise of this show, Logan Roy's death
10:20 was inevitable, which made the fact that it was still an unexpected passing that much more
10:25 impressive. In the beginning of the fourth and final season, Logan was in a bad place with his
10:33 children, who demanded an apology that he refused to give for his parenting style. On a business
10:39 trip to Sweden, Logan passed on the plane, but not before Tom phoned the siblings, who made amends
10:45 and said goodbye to their father. The sudden death left the viewers and characters reeling.
10:55 With the finale still many episodes away, the execution was as shocking as watching the children
11:00 pick up the pieces following their father's death. Did any of these TV deaths leave you
11:12 unable to speak? Let us know which one in the comments.
