00:00 Thousands of Yemenis took to the streets of the Houthi-controlled capital of Sana'a on
00:04 Friday, demonstrating hours after a ballistic missile slammed into a cargo ship in the Red
00:10 Sea. The Houthi rebels said they would continue attacks in order to stymie Israel's air and
00:15 ground offensive on Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
00:23 The Yemeni armed forces confirmed that they continue to prevent all ships heading to Israeli
00:29 ports from navigating in the Arabian and Red Seas until they bring in food and medicine
00:34 that our steadfast brothers in the Gaza Strip need.
00:41 The attacks endanger ships travelling through the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait, a vital
00:47 corridor for oil, grain and consumer goods between Europe and Asia. While Israeli-linked
00:53 vessels have been targeted, container ships and oil tankers flagged to countries like
00:59 Liberia and Norway have also drawn missile fire.
01:03 After being attacked, Danish shipping company Maersk said it will pause all container shipments
01:08 through the Red Sea until further notice.
01:11 The United States said it will take every step to deal with the threat the Houthis pose.
01:16 We are building a coalition. We are working to ensure that and rally the nations of the
01:24 world, all of whom have an interest in seeing this stop. This is not about the United States
01:28 and Israel. This is about the entire international community.
01:32 The United States also pointed a finger at Iran, which supplies the Houthis with weapons.
01:38 The Houthi leadership said that any hostile move against Yemen by Western forces will
01:43 result in a military escalation.
