This brand new light show at the iconic Queens Hotel, in City Square, features a mesmerising film projected onto its façade, titled ‘Magical Night at The Queens’.
It has been brought to the city after LeedsBID teamed up with Barcelona's art and design group Onionlab.
LeedsBID's Andrew Cooper and the hotel's Paul Priest explain the story behind the installation.

00:15 It's been exciting. The key thing for the Business Improvement District is about doing things that we haven't done before, doing bold and ambitious things.
00:23 And so you get a concept, you get an idea, you bring people together, the hotel, the agency from Barcelona, the bid and the audio guys,
00:33 and you've got a cocktail of expertise to create something quite special that celebrates Leeds and all that's good about our city centre.
00:40 And as Paul said, people will come into the city centre, come into the hotel and get a real sense of welcome and a sense of pride,
00:47 particularly through the narration that goes with the animation in terms of welcoming you to the city of Leeds.
00:54 And how significant do you think this is, Paul, for the city?
00:57 I think it's going to be something that's going to be asked for every single year, so I think we've set a benchmark.
01:02 A precedent.
01:03 As somebody who was born and bred in Leeds, I meant pride. I think the return of the Christmas markets this year for the first time since 2019 was fantastic.
01:13 And I think now the elevation to the projection on the front of the grand old building of the hotel in Leeds is just magical and I can't wait to see people's reaction.
