Millie Turner, from Kingswinford, has been learning first aid with St John Ambulance during weekly sessions at Pensnett Community Centre in Brierley Hill.

00:00 Hello, my name is Pamela Turner and this is my daughter Millie Turner. She's 8 years old.
00:06 In September this year I had a funny turn and fell unconscious after having 5 years of chemotherapy for cancer.
00:12 Millie basically saved my life. Do you want to tell them what happened?
00:16 I was in the bedroom with my mum and I heard a strange noise.
00:20 I turned over and I figured out that my mum was choking on her tongue.
00:25 So I did not try anything, I checked her airways, put her in a recovery position.
00:30 In the recovery position, I let the tongue come out so my mum could breathe properly again.
00:36 I went down to go and get my dad and my dad and me went to go and take her to the hospital.
00:42 And now we're going to have a lovely Christmas together. Merry Christmas!
00:46 [Laughter]
00:49 There we go.
