00:00 I would let that come out from the head coach and
00:02 probably be on the interview report for a while.
00:05 >> So it is injury related?
00:06 >> Well, I don't know exactly how I'm gonna learn it.
00:09 >> That'll come on.
00:11 >> Yeah, whatever goes on the report, for who practices.
00:15 >> Another thing that you don't know for
00:16 sure yet is who will start a quarterback for you this week.
00:19 How do you handle those reps accordingly?
00:22 >> Yeah, I think that we make sure that, I think both guys obviously will be
00:26 prepared, guys getting mental reps, if not the one that's taking the actual rep
00:31 and practice, but I think as we get through the week, we'll see where it gets to.
00:34 But we'll still kind of go with the normal flow, putting a game plan together.
00:39 And then at the end of the week, whenever that decision is made,
00:42 getting with that quarterback and saying, hey,
00:45 what are you comfortable with, what's in the game plan?
00:47 >> Obviously, we've seen Jameis only come into the games in relief, and
00:51 the last couple, I think he does, were down by two plus scores when he came in.
00:55 Does that make it really hard for him to get in rhythm and
00:58 that a lot of those throws were kind of, kind of reward?
01:01 >> Yeah, I think that in the situation that he's been put in,
01:04 when he's had to come in, he's been playing from behind most of the time.
01:07 And so he's had to be a little bit more aggressive at times.
01:11 And I think that he's never really had that opportunity to just, we eat and go.
01:16 So.
01:16 >> You obviously don't have somebody who backs up Taysom,
01:21 Taysom's role because it's unique, does that complicate the game plan as well?
01:26 He didn't practice yesterday.
01:28 >> Yeah, I think this, I think that as far as how it goes with Taysom,
01:31 he's such a professional, I think that, obviously you like to get the reps during
01:35 the week, but I think that he's so used to his role and what he does.
01:40 And he's smart, he's always in the right position, always makes the right plays.
01:43 I think that we'll wait to see how long before we have to make a decision.
01:48 >> We saw Lynn Bowden with the running backs.
01:49 What's just kind of the vision for the player?
01:52 >> Well, I think this, I think that he's actually had opportunities on the scout
01:56 team where he's been back there and done some nice things.
01:58 I just think that you go into every game and make sure that if certain things,
02:03 guys are up or down, depending on that.
02:04 And then just making sure that you can say, well, he got some work, and
02:08 just in case he had to be ready for an emergency.
02:10 >> I think looking back at this year,
02:14 it seems like you can think you all run 60% of y'all's plays while trailing this year.
02:19 Is that maybe, are you out of your normal game plan?
02:24 A lot of times, especially when you're behind early in the game.
02:27 >> Well, I think that we've had a few games where we've had to get into maybe
02:31 a little bit more of a faster tempo, throw it a little bit more.
02:35 But I think that can vary just based on how much time is left,
02:38 how much you're down, is it still the normal flow of the game?
02:41 So I think, again, that just probably varies by situation.
02:45 I think if you're down by a couple scores and it's getting late in the game,
02:49 or a time where we felt like, hey, the tempo got us, the rhythm got us going.
02:54 So I think that it can be different circumstances.
02:56 >> The yardage numbers have really improved over the last couple weeks.
03:01 How much of that do you think is the running game kind of sort of
03:05 finding its footing a little bit?
03:06 >> Yeah, I think this.
03:07 I think obviously, you go back to last week,
03:09 obviously didn't do much in that first quarter.
03:11 But I think once we found our rhythm, I think anytime the run game is going,
03:15 it makes it much easier to, you got more from your menu,
03:19 I think, from your call sheet with the play actions.
03:22 And so I think that over the last few weeks, we have run the ball better than
03:26 maybe we were doing earlier in the year.
03:28 And again, I think as a play caller,
03:29 when you're able to run officially, I think that helps.
03:32 >> Why do you think the running game has gotten better last week?
03:35 >> Yeah, I think that obviously, Doug, Kevin, Joel, those guys get together.
03:40 I think they do a good job every week putting together a game plan.
03:43 I think that there's been a time where maybe we just kind of tried to simplify
03:48 things or reduce, I should say, and just focus more on maybe a certain amount of
03:54 runs.
03:55 >> How do you think there's a lot of response to that little stretch of
03:58 adversity and how have you seen them kind of come out of that the last couple of
04:01 weeks? >> Yeah, I think over the last few weeks,
04:03 he's been playing fast.
04:04 I think that he and the quarterback have been on the same page.
04:07 I think he's running great routes.
04:10 He's been on just some field things that he's done, but
04:14 I think that he's playing with confidence.
04:17 I think the quarterback and him are on the same page.
04:19 >> Was there anything you guys had to do to kind of coach him up out of that or
04:23 was that something that just kind of he got out of it?
04:26 >> Well, I think he's a professional and
04:28 I think that he's always done a good job with his assignment.
04:35 I think that there was just probably a period there where we were probably all
04:38 just kind of like trying to make it, maybe try to force it happen and
04:41 just let it happen.
04:42 >> Pete, you mentioned Lynn would be coming in for emergency situation.
04:46 Is it kind of been the challenge in the last few weeks when you have your top
04:50 three wide receivers or top two wide receivers out the last couple weeks and
04:53 potentially Chris this week?
04:54 Is it been a lot of just moving guys in different places on offense to have
04:58 the numbers?
04:59 >> I think this, I think Cody Burns has done a great job with those guys.
05:02 Whoever we have active for the game, we're obviously, we'll have a plan,
05:06 we'll be confident whoever has to go in the game.
05:09 It's probably a little bit more of a challenge during the game when you lose
05:12 two guys and then you're down to three just with the amount of different
05:15 personnel groupings we have.
05:17 But I think Cody's done such a great job of the communication on the sidelines
05:21 when one guy goes down, filling the different personnels and
05:24 making sure we're still putting the guys in the right spot.
05:26 >> Shaq Davis was back out there in practice today.
05:29 How has it been kind of getting him back in the game?
05:30 >> Yeah, it was nice.
05:32 I know that the players love him.
05:34 They were excited that he was able to get back out there.
05:36 And he's got such a great attitude and
05:39 looking forward to with him for things down the road.
05:42 >> Pete, last week, Andrew Speed had to come off the field for a little while.
05:46 When he did that, it wasn't Trevor pinning that, which came at left tackle.
05:49 What is it that you all are still waiting to see from him before he starts to
05:53 climb back up?
05:54 >> Well, I think that I think just, I would just say consistency.
05:57 I think that we've seen him do some good things.
06:00 And I think that it's just, right now,
06:02 that's just the direction we went with last week.
06:05 And we'll continue working with him, Doug Will, getting him ready to go if he has to.
06:10 >> Are you pleased with what you've seen from him and
06:11 how he's responded since- >> Yeah, I am, yes.
06:16 >> And are there certain things that you were,
06:18 what are some of the things that you were looking for
06:19 that you have seen to this point in terms of his continued development?
06:22 >> I think part of it was maybe just assignment.
06:27 And then obviously some confidence, but I think that again,
06:31 he just doesn't have a ton of reps under his belt prior to that.
06:34 And so I think the more and more he could get, the better.
06:36 >> Can a hard reset be beneficial for a player like that?
06:41 I mean, he's only played ten snaps since the Jacksonville game, but
06:44 just times and times of learning and practice and stuff like that.
06:47 >> Yeah, I think that Doug and Kevin are working with him constantly, and
06:51 he'll be prepared to go if that has to happen.
06:54 But I think that, again, we've seen growth.
06:56 [BLANK_AUDIO]
06:58 Okay.
